mathgic class
Who: Clamor & Open!
When: all through January after the semester starts
What: finals are already over so fuck it, 3rd year math is just occult class now
Warnings: please do not commit murder in mathgic class
The (surviving) 3rd years are probably familiar with their new math teacher by now, so maybe we can all skip the "why is there a floating sickle with chalk taped to it drawing on the board". If anyone actually wants to ask questions about math, he will of course oblige, but since everyone left in class already passed finals... why learn geometry and algebra when you can learn how to do REAL magic??
which also involves geometry and algebra, drawing very precise spell circles, and having an inherent talent for it, so not everyone who tries will even be able to make magic stuff happen... but look, it's fine, maybe this will be useful someday. Also it's still more interesting than math, probably. He won't stop 2nd and 1st years from skipping class to learn magic.
Anyway, as for what magic he's teaching... it varies from day to day, but anyone is welcome to make requests and get a lecture on how a particular type of magic works/doesn't work. Setting things on fire? Levitation? Healing? Magical enchantments? Pretty but useless lightshows? Summoning a deadly meteor?? The possibilities are endless (maybe not the meteor, though, that's kind of advanced).

backdating this to January probably >: ) scarm time
Come on!
[It's a harsh whisper under his breath. He's trying to make one of his pens move and it's not even so much as rattling. He doesn't know where he's going wrong, or even what it should be feeling like to do at all. It should be possible, right? Easy, even, if the way Clamor's talking about it is any indication, although this is not the first time Shin's had trouble with such.
It feels like, at least in this wallowing moment, that it was easier when he didn't know that he could do a little magic... now the sense of seeing where he is and where he wants to be and not knowing how to get there feels like staring up at a six-story brick wall.]
no fuck you noah gets deimos phobos this month let him summon the meteor
Clamor, can you help me learn this spell? "Deimos Phobos"?
[—the potential to be able to drop meteors on bitches. It's obviously a very important thing to learn.]
I've been practicing it, but I can't conjure anything even close to a rock...

She follows along diligently, though, copying down information on spell circles even while some niggling part of her brain is yelling about how not normal this is. She holds up her notebook to her teacher (who is a floating scythe?? what?) the next time he passes by. ]
Does this look right?

[Sorry, Inaba is here to gripe because she is a third year who has a huge distaste for the supernatural... is she allowed to be excused, she wants to not be here for when someone might potentially set a person on fire by accident.]

so she goes up to clamor's desk and holds up a piece of paper.] How do I make this one work?
[and it's just a circle that says "light hair on fire please :)"]
