SSSSSSSSssssssssssssssssss...
It's late into the evening when the noise in the dormitories start to die down and people start heading back to their rooms for the night, that the white noise can heard in the relative quiet. A hiss, like white noise but harsher, the TV static of a VCR player once a movie ends and hasn't been turned off. Those with particularly good hearing and in neighboring rooms would be drawn to the hallway of the Suns, where the hissing claws at the door from inside Sun 2.
A knock on the door results in silence. The doorknob rattles when tried. Light peeks out from underneath.

I would suggest you tell me if you're feeling sleepy, but... if you feel a tingling sensation, tell me!
[ that's her common trait, so let's reenact the steps that one takes when making hot cocoa. he turns to nanamichi with a gentle smile, considering she's been crying and would most likely need this more than purinami. ]
Ichigo, will you make hot chocolate, if drugs were used, it'd be best to do it here. So having you do a play by play could help us.
[ maybe there's broken glass in the cabinet, or a pack of hot cocoa that isn't cocoa.
doing it this way means everything could mesh well with the beverage if they were sleeping peacefully, and as he gives that order to nanamichi, midori will look at the counters to see if there's anything wasted like the hot cocoa packets, or etc.
he's glancing at purinami, checking on her: ]
Anything off?

If any one of them checks the trash can, they can confirm this with the paper towel that has been thrown inside on top of a small box and other disgusting food stuff that they shouldn't touch, digging through the trash is gross actually ]

But she trusts her double more than Midori, so she simply watches with slightly widened, slightly worried eyes as her double tests the liquid for poison.
Midori's suggestion jolts her out of her reverie and she goes to the cupboard and pulls out some cups, using the milk and cocoa powder to prepare a few new mugs of cocoa. (She leaves the mugs from Sun 2 with her double.) She spots the white powder as she goes--
Hm.
While the mugs are heating up, she wipes down the counter and goes to throw her paper towel away, where she spots more of the white powder and the box. Heart hammering, she uses her paper towel to turn the box over so she can see what it is. ]

It tastes like cold hot chocolate... I think.
[ She could say that with a bit more confidence, but it's easy to second guess oneself in these situations. But she feels as awake as she had before, and there's no strange feeling about it. It seems unlikely that such a small dose as a sip or two would do much harm though, whether it was drugs or poison. But if anything was used, it didn't have a strong enough medicinal taste to overpower the hot chocolate used. Either that, or the culprit simply hadn't used enough for it to matter.
She sets the half-empty mug on the counter, and notes it as she stops to examine something in the trash. Her eyes move to Midori and linger there. Will he check? ]
Did you find something?

[ it's a familiar looking box, so his warning are his words as he walks over to nanamichi and purinami to take a look at what's in her hands. not wanting to startle her, he's able to identify from name, and the capsule color usually helps people draw themselves in to use them. ]
Did our late friend find himself in the nurse's office a lot? He has quite the eye for choosing Diphenhydramine.
[ he taps the box lightly with his index finger, looking at the twin on his left, and then the twin on his right. ]
This is why they appeared peaceful: it's a sleeping aid. Break it in half, and you can shake the insides into a nice, warm cup of hot cocoa.
[ saying that, he finds that he actually wants a cup. something sweet would make this entire fiasco even sweeter, he thinks. ]
We'll bring it with us, and the beverages. Many people would want to know part of what happened, what do you two think?
[ because midori is deciding, and they're going to do it if they say no. ]

She can't block out their voices. The analysis causes her eyes to burn and she has to wipe them on the back of her sleeve again.
When the cocoa is hot, she hands one to Hiyori and one to her double. Then she finally takes one for herself and nods in answer to his question.
She'll follow them out of the room, hard questions and sad thoughts spinning around her mind as she sips the sweet chocolate milk. ]

Mm. We should tell everyone.
[ But it's here that she pauses in her line of questioning to pay closer attention to the look on her twin's face, and she offers a comforting smile. She holds her own mug with both hands, rubbing it with her thumb without sipping at it just yet. ]
... You knew them, right? It's okay if you need time to yourself now...
[ Time to grieve, time to think, time to bury her face in her pillow and cry as much sh ewants to. If she weren't alone, then it should be time to commiserate with others who knew the pair. Time away from Nanami, who had learned to push away her personal feelings in order to support the group, and Midori who was proving to be a calming presence of all his own. It's in his nature as a doctor, she supposes. ]
Hiyori-san and I can let everyone know what we found, so... You don't need to push yourself. Right, Hiyori-san?
[ She's looking up to him for affirmation now. In the end, the other had done what she needed to, and there's no sense in forcing her to continue ripping open the wound by clinically finding and examining every piece of evidence. He's a doctor, so he should understand that too, right? ]

he has interest in those broken, those that need help, and that was with both love and patience, they can become a better version of themselves. ]
You were brave, thank you for accompanying us. Without you, we wouldn't have gotten this far.
[ purinami was already here, and she may have stumbled upon everything without them. despite that, he doesn't miss his chance to praise and encourage the other female so that she feels as if her efforts meant something. he can take in the way her emotions sway, if she's able to smile, or if she continues cry through loss. it's all interesting to him. ]
It may feel hopeless, but we're many steps closer to paying our respects, understanding what happened, and bringing you closure...
[ closure is so important, it helps someone move on, and no longer feel trapped within their own heart. she can claw herself out, it'll bleed red, but at least she can breathe fresh air, and no longer drown. he always enjoyed opening up the human body to see how their insides worked, getting down to the heart of the matter. ]
Please believe in us.
[ rely on them, as long as there's a connection here, and he finds that purinami is excellent as a voice on this matter— she could reach the heart of her more human twin, and her feelings will no longer be in disorder if their mood reverberate against one another in the room. ]

It's okay to leave. She's done all she can. She gets that information at least. She looks between the two of them, all reassuring smiles, and nods slowly, her mind a world away.
There's part of her that wonders if she should warn herself about the rat-tailed man, tell her what Shin told her... but she doesn't even know what she'd say, especially when he's standing right here. Her gaze lingers for a bit too long on her double.
Please let her be okay. Please let there not be another death.
Her gaze drops and she hurries away, the hot cocoa sloshing in her mug, dangerously close to overflowing.
She flees, but for now she doesn't know where to. She just runs. ]
