SSSSSSSSssssssssssssssssss...
It's late into the evening when the noise in the dormitories start to die down and people start heading back to their rooms for the night, that the white noise can heard in the relative quiet. A hiss, like white noise but harsher, the TV static of a VCR player once a movie ends and hasn't been turned off. Those with particularly good hearing and in neighboring rooms would be drawn to the hallway of the Suns, where the hissing claws at the door from inside Sun 2.
A knock on the door results in silence. The doorknob rattles when tried. Light peeks out from underneath.

now we can look into the cabinet what's inside this little thing down here

Subaru opens the cabinet and finds a thick book containing many many polaroid photos, two or three stuck in between each page of the book but they haven't been glued down or anything yet. Each photo has the date it was taken penned into the corner, with some pictures of the school here and there from the beginning when Subaru first gave Keigo the camera, but soon focused more on the people and things they loved, just like Subaru suggested to them. It appeared they liked to take creeper shots without people noticing, but sometimes they would go around asking for a photo directly too
There are no photos of themselves anywhere in the album, despite having taken them

he can't help it, his chest squeezes and this'll be the first time he's smiling as he carefully goes through it. he'll note there's none of them though, which subaru's going to pin into his mind to fix with the photo he "took" of keigo on their saransk date with the field blocked behind them, or maybe the profile one he took around the same time, because this book is his now, and he's going to add everyone and everything he loves into it, too
even if they're gone, even if he won't see them again for a long time, probably, at least he knows what he's going to write on the first page once he shapes this thing up.
close the book and he'll use his jacket to wrap it tight so nothing falls out, this'll be something he needs to work on before he shows it to the group as a whole -- and by god if he won't work on it!!! i'm guessing this is the cute extra though, so let him look under the bed, which was gonna be the next place he looked for them actually now this is his bonus round

There, in the darkness, he finds an empty glass bottle and a stopper to the side, which looks like it could connect the bottle to something. This is the final clue for the investigation.
