There's a poem that I'd like for people to read and share their thoughts on. I'm not sure how good it is, so I was thinking that maybe having it in a public forum like this would allow for some discussion.

Committing a crime isn't scary.
The scary part is to admit it.

Receiving a punishment isn't scary.
The scary part is to know the pain of it.

Neither crime nor punishment will be gone from the world,
Because humans are unable to know their future.

Alternatively, if you do not like poems, or would like another question to chew on: there isn't some sort of magic that can make someone become older, is there?

You can say that curiosity killed the cat, really. If you have your own poems to share, I'd like to read them as well. Writing these sorts of things is a hobby of mine, I suppose.

And sometimes the weak try to claw out of that place by doing things that cannot be easily forgiven. It's kind of sad, really.

It is. Although, I think it's sad to do something unforgivable and hope for forgiveness.

[ Or, in this case. Not expect it, but wanting to hide it a bit longer. ]

If they know that it is something unforgiveable--

They shouldn't be expecting forgiveness in the first place. But it is human to want it. From those that they truly care about. Even if that's contradictory.

Hmm. Would that be nice if humans realized how futile that is. Maybe we'd all be at peace, hm?

People don't see the futility in things.

It's why they fight to the bitter end, even if things have failed them over and over. Perhaps that's why we're all here.

I suppose. Maybe we're all desperately clinging to life, and once that desperation goes, we'll finally shuffle off to Hell.

Or Heaven, if you're so lucky.

There might be those who don't belong in either place as well.
