( there's never a day where ranger doesn't remind komaeda about how much he means to him, and that things would be different if the ultimate wasn't here. he'd say things like he'd be lonely, or no one would understand him, and other problems that would continue all because he didn't have him. at the start, komaeda used to ignore it which was probably wrong, though he finds that it feels comfortable and right when he hears maple mention it again. before, he'd rather ranger find someone else to latch onto and get to know, it was an entire new world for him; yet it was wide, terrifying, and an unknown place when it was just him, and a laptop with crucial data.

He cheered up a little more when you and Hiyori-kun appeared, so we all must be in the same boat.

( everyone likes living, wants to live, but for ranger, it's installed into his system. ranger was born with the need to survive which ignores any other person that tries to talk him out of it.
it's not that he likes it, it's that he needs to, has to. komaeda doesn't judge him because of it, but their way of living idifferent, and ranger would have done what was needed to keep going without making stupid decisions.
