Sometimes I find myself writing poetry, have you ever tried?

poetry... no, i havent tried that. i wouldnt know where to start

There's always a chance to learn something new, especially when you can share it with another person who may need it.
Perhaps I can get you both a book and pencil, it'll be what you use only to write poetry; it'll be special.

Ah, no, poetry comes straight from the heart.
There's no need to really read other stanzas unless you believe it'd help.

umm yeah i can do that. i'm on my way, one sec

["One sec" he says, though it takes him a couple minutes to toddle into the nurse's office. He rarely ever goes here save to loot it, so to come here on a non-looting day is... well, a little odd.

He pokes his head in first, scouting out Midori. Hi, hello, he doesn't have a stash of painkillers in his room for "just in case" scenarios—]

...hi.

There you are.

[ dressed in his white lab coat, midori slowly gets up from his chair with a book along with a few pens in hand that the other will see. as he makes his way over, the nurse pushes the door closed behind noah since whatever is spoken here is private, and if the door is open anyone is allowed to know. ]

While you were on your way, I found these. What do you think?

[ how does he know noah likes cats? well, it's not hard to guess. ]

[He reaches out and takes the book and pens, a little confused by how Midori figured that out — but, well, Noah is a known catboy, and can very regularly be seen making his shadow cats and putting shadow cat ears on fellow classmates. It's not rocket science.

He beams, after the momentary confusion wears off.]

I can have these? ...They're cute. I'll treat them well, I promise.

[Despite his words coming out as soft and not-too-excited, it's very apparent by the sparkle in his good eye that he's absolutely thrilled.]

[ these types are easy to please— someone to look out for them, someone to tell them they've done good, and give them a treat for their good work to enable them into all sorts of activities. midori finds this a pleasant change from talking to all the adults around, and eases into speaking with noah out of plain happiness and interest. ]

Aren't they? A secret is... I like cute things, so I try to have a few items in my vicinity that doesn't make the day so grim!

[ if noah looks around, he'll see a few cat pins mixed with hamster pens... and a few animal sticky notes that he made himself. ]

Hopefully they'll help your mood, and that way you can start writing your own poems...

[ a happy, little chuckle as he sits down after. ] I find that as long as I have something to read and write, I can be at ease... So I hope I can share a little piece of myself with you.

[He does look around, and that sure is a bunch of cute stuff lingering. Noah makes a mental note to draw some nice things for Midori to hang on his wall, sort of like what a kid does for their 9-5 office-slave parent's cubicle. It's really the only way he thinks he'll be able to get cute things as a gift, really; he doesn't have much else. He's very small and he has no money so you can imagine the kind of stress he's under.]

...thank you. I appreciate it. I'll show you anything I write, too. I guess the challenge now is finding something to write about, or a good starting place for when I decide.

[ he has no trouble connecting with people, it's only difficult if they choose to push themselves away for a much greater outcome. noah doesn't seem that way, rather, he's the opposite who must look for someone to acknowledge him, see that he's there and what he can do. even now, he can tell that the youth looks around wondering what he can fill the walls with that lacks creativity, but it's that desire to do so that makes this job worth doing. he'll be able to see, and comment, and praise. ]

Yes, please do. I'll look it over, and I will never judge. It's your heart and feelings, but I am honored that you'd show me...

[ his smile is genuine as he reaches out a hand to place over the front of the book, nails drumming against it gently. ] Tell me, how do you feel now? We can find something together, that can be the first topic that fills the margins.

[ enthusiastic, he meets noah's eyes as if he's thought of the best idea, but noah can reject his idea if he so wishes. ]
