This is a pretty simple question that I'm putting out there, since I'd guess there would at least be one person who can help.
[She doesn't like asking for help, not in this place, not in these circumstances, but--]
Who here is familiar with self defense and would be willing to teach me? Naturally, I'd like to propose that it not be done for free, but terms can be discussed in private. I've been taught a little bit of karate from a friend, but she's not here, so I guess the question ends up going to everyone else here.
Although for those who'd rather do anything else besides the inquiry: I'll propose a small text-based game of twenty questions. But it's no fun without stakes, so let's put those on the table. I can deny games, stakes, and any offers at will. It's my post. But I'll leave that open for those who want to take it.

[She keeps it short and sweet and opts to show up -- not in the normal uniform, but in what you'd basically wear for physical education. Shirt, sweatpants. It's easier to move in.]

Hey. Uh... where to start... oh. I guess the first question is, if someone were to grab you from behind, what do you think you'd do first?
[So he can get a baseline of what needs to be taught here.]

That's a tricky question. It would depend on how they're trying to, but the answer is to be able to get into a position where you are facing them. In this particular case, an elbow jab to behind, a headbutt and an attempt to kick at the sensitive areas are fair game. And of course, you want to be able to get your line of sight behind you, without compromising your position to bring back the advantage. If you try looking back in a certain way after all, they might just punch you in the face, which is no good.
