[ After what's happened in the beginning of May, now that it's spring break, Inaba opts to use this time to start doing things. With the shadow students gone, she can finally relax on her own - even if she doesn't exactly expect to be alone for long - and while this would be the best time to do investigation work, she opts to think about the future instead of the immediate present.

People may find her in classroom 3-B on her own for a good chunk of the day--she's pushed several of the desks together to give her much more ample space. She has her laptop open as well as several handwritten notebooks by her side.

And of course, given that she'll be here basically a lot on most days, people may see her here at any time of the day. Mornings? Sure. Afternoons? Yeah. Evenings? Also yes.

Does she even sleep? Who the hell knows.

There's just the loud clattering of fingers on a keyboard and occasionally the sound of her scritching on her various notebooks; for those who dare to sneak a peek at what exactly she's doing, they'll notice that each notebook seems to consist of a different subject matter. It's meticulously organized by subject and school year and there's even a notebook meant for general school things as well.

As for her laptop, while she does have one notepad tab open for the same exact notes so that she has it in two different places, she also has a secondary tab open with the title of Student Council Application Plans. The page is currently blank otherwise.

If she's not trying to pull all-nighters with her crazy meticulous notetaking, Inaba can alternatively be found in the library, taking photos from some of the books in there.

But she might also be found at the new cafeteria--which honestly, yeah, this is a shocker to her. But this means that she can borrow the kitchen to which Inaba finds herself trying to make food. She's not really good at it, however, as she keeps on looking between what they've got and the notes on her phone. She's also definitely keeping stock of what the kitchen has to offer; given that there's slim pickings, she needs to make sure she knows the numbers for rationing. ]

[ Once the break is over, it's time to well - spring back into action.

However, there are times when she feels like she's getting a sense of deja vu. It tends to happen during the hours of class, and when she's going to other locations and it gives her a bit of a headache.

In the midst of all this, she can feel her fingers tremble uneasily, to the point where she finds herself frozen in the halls at times, trying to gather herself as she clutches onto her pendant tightly, murmuring under her breath, softly: ]

No, no, no... not again, not - not again -- please...

[ She can't deal with this right now.

Which is why she very frantically runs --

[it would be remiss of subaru not to bug inaba every now and then, her reactions are always fun despite his complaints that she's generally got a stick up her ass, and it's really no surprise to him that she's in class even on their week off.

Hell no. I'm not looking to usurp anyone, and I would rather not have the biggest target on my back.

[it's just that he and maya had a shared devotion to music. subaru'll take a proper seat, chair turned around so he can rest his arms on it.]

I don't know if I should be taking that as a compliment or an insult...

[ She sighs. ]

This tab is, yeah. It's empty right now though since I haven't exactly brainstormed on what it is I want to do, yet. Joining the student council ended up being kind of a... well. Not exactly spur of the moment, but -- It isn't usually my kind of thing. Everything else is something I've been working on for a while now. A long project, if you will.

If you need votes, then you've gotta show what you can offer to the people. Promises are all well and good, but words are just words. Throw a party every week to destress the school and have it be a thing clubs can get in on. Wouldn't hurt with gettin' to know everyone that's gonna be wanting your favor either~.

However. It is possible to have a compromise. If I want to become memorable, I'd have to do it...

[ She mulls this over in her head, looking thoughtful. ]

... three days before the voting period. Have it be open to everyone and hear out what people would want out of the student council. Besides, I don't just have empty promises. That's why I've been working on all of these.

[ She gestures at the notebooks. ]

Of course, I know it's a lot of reading, which is why I plan on making alternate versions of them that would be easier on the eyes -- that anyone would be able to parse through, no matter what their level is.

[she took it with a compromise, sure, but she took it. and... it's not a bad plan, the rest of it -- he watches her from the corner of his eye, then rests his cheek against his arm as he turns his face more her direction.]

Not bad, Baachan~. I might just toss my vote in for you, depending on the competition. ♪ Balloons are a must, and if it's comin' on summer we oughta have fireworks too! It'll be unforgettable...☆

Well, I don't know how many spots there's going to be for the student council, but if the competition is going to be rough, I'm just going to have to bring out the best cards in the deck.

Although honestly, shouldn't we save all the big summer things for a summer festival or something, instead of just a party?

Nope, 'cause the more you got of something the better it is. No one's gonna get sick of fireworks goin' off.

What're your best cards? If one of 'ems about attendence being non-mandatory if your grades are good enough then I'm in for sure.

No, people will get tired after a while. Fireworks are loud and noisy for the most part. If you do too many of them on days where they're not scheduled, you'll just end up getting backlash.

And I can't say. Right now, those cards are a secret--if I said anything now, I'm sure to potentially get more distasteful rumors about me. But I can confirm it won't be about attendance. I have no control over that sort of thing, and I doubt the student council has that sort of power, either.

[no refuting that, though subaru just likes the thought of being able to play with fireworks as many days as he'd like; it'd be fun to shoot them off at people, harmlessly of course but shoot them off nonetheless. as long as his goody-two-shoe friends don't find out he's probably okay.]

Well, it was worth a shot. Guess I'll keep attendin' class, even though I don't think it really matters in this school. Are those rumors about you and Yuki-chan being an item still around?

I don't think it really matters either if I'm going to be entirely honest, but I can't say things that are impossible for me to enact. That's just going to cause more trouble than it's worth--

[ And then there's an obvious pause as she hears the second half of it all, her face turning a bright red. ]

W-W-Wait a second! Since when did that rumor go from "we did a murder together" to "us dating"?!

What~? You haven't heard~? Woooow, Baachan, you're really out of the loop...♪ Yeah, it's moved from one thing to another! You two're seeing each other now, and have been fooooor...

[he counts on his hand, thinking a bit before holding up two fingers.]

Two months. ♪ I wonder if Yuki-chan knows~? What a scheme, gettin' into the Student Council for your boooooyfrieeeeend. ♪

[ She can feel her face burning and she has to take a deep breath in and then out.

Calm down, Inaba Himeko!!

She fiddles with the pendant around her neck. ]

If he knows, I'm gonna die. If he doesn't, I'm taking the rumor to my second grave.

[ Morbid jokes allow her to cope. ]

--actually, no. That'd probably just make thing worse... ugh. What a pain in the ass. I'd never do something like that because I was dating someone.

You probably don't wanna see him here anyway. But I wouldn't say "ever again" either, y'know? Samsara works in a weird way, maybe your souls are all twisted up together. Not that you'll know, he won't be the same guy you remember, but it'll still feel nice to be around him — whatever the relationship is.

[ Try as he might, Miyuki's just never gotten used to the school after midnight. Obviously he could make the most of his time by actually sleeping for once, but given how high he has to keep his guard up and the fact that he wants to keep his mind occupied most of the time, that sure as shit isn't happening. So he's forcing himself to mostly deal with it.

Which... is tough. Silence is a pain-- if he wasn't mistaken, the human mind can't withstand it for too long or he'll be driven insane, so he naturally makes sure to keep some form of stimulus in his pocket. In this case, a piece of paper crumbled up.

The sad thing is, he knows someone else would probably be awake too... which is why he's even here in the first place. Granted, he isn't really sure if Inaba would be in 3-B today, considering that she seems like the type to not sleep in the same place twice. But it's worth a look? ]

[ Naturally, it can't be that easy. Miyuki's been mostly dealing with any sense he may have, passing it off as something insignificant. Just the school messing with his head as always.

Maybe it was him shaking that off or not thinking about it that hard that left him open to Inaba running directly into him, knocking him over. ]

Oof-- hey, watch it...!
