♡ EARLY JUNE. ( spoilers for kokoro connect / cw: memory loss, unreality and experimentation )
However, there are times when she feels like she's getting a sense of deja vu. It tends to happen during the hours of class, and when she's going to other locations and it gives her a bit of a headache.
In the midst of all this, she can feel her fingers tremble uneasily, to the point where she finds herself frozen in the halls at times, trying to gather herself as she clutches onto her pendant tightly, murmuring under her breath, softly: ]
No, no, no... not again, not - not again -- please...
[ She can't deal with this right now.
Which is why she very frantically runs --
Pick your poison:
Either she runs into you or you find her trying to escape to the nearest women's restroom to catch herself and breathe. ]

Maybe it was him shaking that off or not thinking about it that hard that left him open to Inaba running directly into him, knocking him over. ]
Oof-- hey, watch it...!
[ He plans to complain more, until he notices who it is, and the state that she's in. ]
Inaba? Hey, what's going on?!
no subject
[ She curses herself and her trembling hands and the fact that she had ran into someone. Not the worst option to run into, but definitely not the best, either. ]
It's nothing. I'm fine.
[ And yet, she can't hide the shake in her voice. ]
no subject
Fine enough that you decided to start dashing down the hall?
no subject
[ Oh my god. ]
no subject
[ Oh god, no. ]
S-Sorry! Go ahead! Hurry! Don't make a mess!
no subject
[ Make a mess that is. But she is going to rush her way over to the bathroom, even though she doesn't really need to use it. But she can at least try calming herself down by splashing her face with water and sighing, trying to calm her nerves.
God, she's still shaking.
She can't help but wonder if he's actually going to wait for her, though... ]
no subject
Truthfully, he wasn't too sure if she was telling the truth or not. As he leaned against a wall nearby, he tried to piece things together in his head. She sure as hell lost her composure pretty badly, and it felt like that was embarrassing to admit?
...
But, the alternative was embarrassing and gross.
Either way, he should. Probably make sure she's okay. Not to the extent that he'll actually go in, but enough to hang around awkwardly. ]
no subject
Oh, you're still here.
no subject
[ He pauses, and stands back up, brushing off his uniform. ]
Also, I wanted to give you a moment to calm down so you can tell me what's actually going on.
no subject
She shifts her weight uncomfortably, her gaze not finding his, her hand instinctively almost reaching for her pendant but she then forces it down. ]
It's--
[...]
You wouldn't understand.
no subject
Especially when they're holding something back, even after all this time. ]
There's a lot I don't understand, but I've heard it anyway. Try me, Inaba.
no subject
[ She's quiet.
For a good moment in time, she's quiet, unsure of what to say. She huffs slightly, folding her arms over her chest, tapping her foot ever so slightly. ]
Lately, there's been a heavy sense of deja vu in the air... I can't stand it.
no subject
[ She's correct-- he doesn't immediately understand why that's such a big deal to her. Miyuki's concerned, but more that something that seems annoying at best is upsetting Inaba to that extent. ]
I admit that it's odd, but I don't know if it's really cause for alarm.
no subject
[ Her voice cracks. She ducks her head, lowers her voice into something softer. ]
Maybe if it felt like one of those moments that you'd normally have. But this... it's incessant. Like I'm forgetting something important.
[ Fingers wrap around her pendant, fingers trembling. ]
It's stupid. I shouldn't feel this...
[ ...this scared, she doesn't finish. ]
...not... not again.
no subject
Heartseed?
[ That wouldn't be what she'd forgotten, but if it could swap bodies, regress ages, change so much...
Of course. It changing around memories wasn't too farfetched. He's quiet, trying to figure out how to proceed. After all, he can't pretend to know anything about her life, only what's been presented in front of her.
Maybe he can't comfort her, but... ]
I know you take notes all the time, but... have you kept a journal of what you do remember from home? I can't imagine you not holding onto even the small details if they're important.
no subject
Yeah. I've done that, before. But they could erase that, too. Memories, anything written, photos...
no subject
I take it that it wouldn't be as easy as hiding it behind an encrypted file on your phone or a computer either.
[ So then... what else was there? It takes him a moment... before he comes up with literally anything. ]
In that case, the only thing you can do is trust your common sense. Piece together what memory makes sense and what doesn't based on everything else surrounding it.
