Case 2: the Curious Detective
Who: Sherlock and Whoever - open
When: Mid-June
Where: Various
What: Cooking With Detective, Flour sitting, etc.
A. Japanese Curry is British?! (Closed to Lucifer)
[As promised, a promise he only realized he made after the sleepover, he started to make curry in the kitchen once the staff left school for the day – having told Lucifer when to stop by. Thankfully curry is a common enough dish that he didn’t need to hunt too much for the ingredients, though the curry powder while having the appropriate subtle sweetness was much too mild on its own.
By the time Lucifer would arrive, he’d find things underway, the rice cooking, apple and vegetables sliced and the Detective mixing something in the powder]
Ah, there you are, would you mind trying this?
B. Flour sack check
[It was his turn to watch the flour sack, named Toby just because. His fingers trace the outside of it, lips pursing in thought]
You are quite a bit livelier than most substitute babies are...
[If he only had access to an x-ray machine, as Nene wanted this to succeed he won’t open the sack himself – he’s not completely heartless]
I hope this won't be a mistake.
C. Wildcard.
[Want something else? Catch him anywhere in the school, either in the library or examining the construction, beating up imps.
Or hit me up on plurk at
RShini or Shini#2300 on Discord]

aww yeah curry time
He takes a small sample of the dish as instructed, pauses to savour the taste, and gives an approving nod.]
Not bad, detective.
[A good-natured smile, and then Lucifer leans against the countertop some distance away so not to disturb the process.]
It's not every day I get human-world varieties of curry.
Re: aww yeah curry time
[He glances back as he places filleted fish into the pan]
Is that spicy enough for you or should I add more heat?
no subject
[Demons like it spicy, after all.]
There are, in fact, different varieties of food in the Devildom versus here. Depending on who you ask, human-world food is either a delicacy or the most vile thing in existence. There are different sorts of foods in the Celestial Realm as well, though they are... horribly sweet most of the time.
[He pauses for a moment, trying to think of one of the odder dishes that they have back home, and settles on:]
My youngest brother's favourite dish happens to be Quetzalcoatl brains, for example.
no subject
...
All right. That does give one a very different image than you probably intended. I suspect our idea of what Quetzalcoatl means.
B.
A mistake? S-Sherlock are you not sure what this is either?
Re: B.
Not without tearing it open, or some form of imagining such as an MRI or X-ray. And Miss Nene did want to succeed in the project.

[ He admits gently. Finding himself always envying the calm ways Sherlock handles situations. ]
no subject
Whatever it is - it does seem alive.
B
They're carrying it with a care that might be rather surprising, though perhaps not as surprising as the overall calmness with which they react to seeing him.)
Greetings.
(They recognize him as one of those who tried to assist them when they arrived.)
Re: B
[He picks up the flour sack, the inspection finished, he wraps it up the blanket again, no closer to an answer than he was before]
How are you holding up? You do seem less... guarded than previously.
no subject
(They don't respond to the bit about being less guarded. Contact with other robots has helped, but the biggest thing, ironically, was the battle they witnessed. It has showed the truth that their fellow students are fellow victims.
Their flour sack makes a little noise, and they look at it with concern, taking a moment to shift it to a position they hope is more ... comfortable? Can it even experience discomfort?)
no subject
[He takes the lack of response to his observation as a suggestion not to push]
I... wonder if it's more comfortable if you hold it like a human child?
no subject
Affirmative. Damage to musculature can be sealed with heat. Small quantities of circulatory fluid can be replaced with water.
(They are working on additional solutions, but do not tell him of their efforts.)
WILDCARD !
Sherlock. What's the situation?
( it's time like this that sidney's grateful for the perpetual stoicism- as something digs into his forearm, he's able to just slam it against the wall with an uncaring swing, and though blood is drawn, he's free of whatever the hell that was. )
Re: WILDCARD !
[Sherlock had at some point stolen a meter stick from one of the class rooms, it's no cane, but it'd do for the time being as he spun the implement and thrusts it against something unseen by Sidney's eyes]
I suspect it's influenced by whatever is going on in the school.
no subject
the worst part is that sidney can't see the threat- even if sherlock was calling out locations, he'd struggle. how big are they? the creature felt small. how fast? he's... ugh. he really isn't as good an ally in this as he wants to be. fuck. )
I see. What do you need me to do?
no subject
[A hop, sidestep, a leg suddenly snapping up to the side, swinging forward before pulling his leg back - the yardstick slamming on something soon as both of his feet are back on the ground]
- swift, with high mobility.
And make sure everyone else knows not to go skipping off alone.
no subject
I'll spread the word.
( but it looks like sherlock's got things covered, here. )
I'll keep out of the way. Good luck.
no subject
[He holds still, glancing about on guard, waiting]
Keep a look out for anything odd like that, it might be helpful.
