I, Elizabeth... have been granted a birthday.

Each and every one of you is cordially invited to set up, provide food and entertainment for, and attend a surprise birthday party on the third Saturday of this August: that is to say, it falls on August 21st this year.

Now, to help all of you throw the perfect surprise birthday party, what follows is a list of my likes and dislikes, as well as items or favors I would be ecstatic to receive as gifts:

Likes: The color blue, strange and exotic food, items of interesting origin, being held like a princess from a romantic fairy-tale, being able to go "all-out" in battle, thesauruses (thesaurusi?), trying new and exciting things, dropping it like it's hot, reading

Dislikes: Not being invited to participate in what everyone else has been invited to, my fashion sense being questioned, Erebus

Gifts I Would Like: Old documents and other aged informative items, a drink that shares my name, something that cannot be found at school... Truthfully, any gift that matches my likes shall do, but these are the ones I believe would be considered my "top choices".

I'm looking forward to seeing what type of party all of you throw for me.

I've been carefully considering this since the beginning of last month. Regardless, I'm happy you've RSVP'd. Thank you for your speedy response... And for complimenting my list. I hope it gave you some ideas for what gifts to bring and what to set up in anticipation for my surprise party.

It isn't as if I'm going to know what time exactly nor the place it shall be held, so I consider it enough of a surprise to warrant such a title.

I was under the impression it was customary to hold a party on one's day of birth... Is this not something everyone expects to happen?

when ppl think of a surprise party they dont rly know it's coming in the first place? like that anyone is planning anything at all

I see... How curious. Why wouldn't they think those they spend time with would plan them a party? Thank you, by the way. I thought it the quickest way to alert everyone of my success in procuring a birth day.

tbh i was sort of surprised when i did get a party one year, even tho i'd been talking nonstop about my birthday for like two weeks?

i didnt rly have parties with friends growing up bc i moved a lot www so it was like, super exciting!!!!! and it was definitely a surprise how many ppl came and pitched in and stuff!!!! so that's also a kind of surprise!!!
