ethics...club...
Who: the ethics club and whoever wants to crash their party
When: whenever in august!
What: just a mingle post for the disasters
Warnings: uhhh...........well there's a bunch of problematic people here probably, so we'll see how this goes. will update.
The "ethics" club isn't really that well furnished so far. So far, there's only a few things -- things that only Josh is able to access, as well as a dart board, a cheap (and faulty) polygraph machine, and a button maker?
Well, the other members will have to make those. But he does have a certain design for it, if someone was interested in ""helping"" him make the pins...
Otherwise, Joshua's probably usually in here, in classroom 2-D, and he won't turn anyone away. He might warn of anyone coming in of their eccentric group, but he doesn't really mind either way.
But there are papers spread around, not that he really wants to do the work of ensuring that his club stays open, but he figures there's no use in just ignoring it. So there's probably going to be some reports to go through on the papers, or something that could be defined as work.
Loosely.
There's a folder on the desk he'd moved next to the door which holds the topic of the month on it for whoever comes into the room:
good and evil: how do you spot the difference? Do those lines truly exist?
He's very interested in what people would say about it.

Please, keep going - I'm not very fond of sharp things like darts, anyway.
[but she knows the sound, from friends playing and then arguing over the rules. it feels like a distant life ago, even though it isn't - so it's a familiar sound, one she associates with calmer moments.]
Are you winning?
no subject
[ Crona tilts their head, unaware Helana can't see them. These darts aren't very much like the ones they can make with their blood. ]
Winning? Um! I don't really know the rules, sorry! I just like throwing things...sorry if thats hard to deal with...
no subject
[the confusion in her voice is genuine, listening to their words. ]
If you're enjoying yourself, then there's no problem at all. You wouldn't even need the rules to follow.
no subject
[ Oh no she’s so nice, she has a nice voice, just like Miss Marie. Crona cowers away from Helena. Nice adults are the hardest people to understand! ]
Can you not ask me such nice questions? That’s hard too! I just can’t deal with things. I was probably born like this.
[ Having fun is an evil trap and even acknowledging it makes Crona feel like they’re in trouble. Which is weird, they should stop feeling like this. ]
If Miss says so…I can also not learn the rules?
no subject
[how confusing. perhaps this person is just worried about something? as it is, Helena thinks she's harmless - she hasn't so much as raised her voice above a soft conversation. then it's up to her to be as gentle as possible.]
Any game's supposed to be for fun's sake, above all else. If the rules wouldn't make it fun for you, then why not discard them for yourself?
no subject
I can't deal with this...
[ They repeat for lack of any other answer. Up to them? They can't possibly know what to do then! ]
I don't know the rules, so I don't know if they're fun or not...Um...I guess I should ask Komeada, or maybe Joshua? They're nice, did you know this is their club!? They invited me even if I don't know what ethics are! That's so nice. I used to ask Mr.Jekyll my questions too, but I think hes gone forever. That's really sad...
no subject
[where else would he even have gone, if not back to where he was before?]
I had no idea that those two made this club, however. I just came in because the door was open - I got curious about what was going on. [Helena laughs a little, because this club was certainly not what she expected to find.] In any case, it's not so hard to figure out ethics. You just have to expect a lot of debate to come from the topic.

[ They say shortly instead of elaborating. ]
Oh, well they're both pretty nice, so I think this club will be fun? I like the darts. Maybe Joshua will have more games later. That sounds better then arguing with people about stuff I don't get.
no subject
[and then, because it just occurred to her:]
I may not always know what's going on, but if you have questions about these things, you can always ask me, and I'll do my best to answer.
no subject
[ They give her a small smile. ]
I get confused about a lot...so thank you! Do you want to play darts with me? I've never learned anything while playing a game before.
no subject
[it's a kind offer, but not one she can take up.]
no subject
[ They poke one of the darts into their finger to...show her. I'm so sorry Crona would not figure out someone is blind without being explicitly told. They aren't smart... ]
Oh...unless you hit me in the eye. Then it would hurt I guess. I think a dart in my eye would be pretty hard to deal with because then I couldn't see anything but a dart forever and ever, but I should be able to close them in time.
no subject
...As it happens, I'm blind. I wouldn't be able to see where any of the darts were going in the first place.
[so said, she opens her eyelids, and her eyes are there, slightly cloudy and entirely unfocused. her voice and her demeanor remain utterly calm.]
It wouldn't be safe for you, for me, or anyone else in this room.
crona ableism moment im so sorry asdlkfahsdjg
[ The tone of their voice seems suitably cowed. They hunch their shoulders and tug on their fingers as they try to figure out how to respond to that. ]
We can play another game if you want? I'm sorry. [ A pause. ] Oh but I still don't mind if you hit me with a dart.
