( it starts out small. a need for comfort food, and a need for something heartfelt but silly and fun, something genuine and kind. ... and, well, she did find a weird. bootleg vhs set of her favorite movie series, hamster space wars. but the dorm is only barely furnished- and it's not like they can just go out and buy a tv or anything. honestly she completely doubts there's even anything beyond the woods. but she remembers a teacher playing the thing and other stuff in the first month of all of this. 

it's so long ago...

but there's a television and a vhs player in the school. and nene... nene's tired and sad and is currently out of fucks to give, so at some point in the day, after everyone else has left, nene has returned to the school and, uh. "borrowed" both things. it's fine. they just have to get it back in by sunday evening. don't worry about it. like, it's definitely heavy but she's a tough cookie who tills soil and everything, and also sara and noah both witnessed everything and are accomplices by default, so they had to help carry things too. 

(they were completely happy to help on both accounts, she asked very nicely.) 

so the "borrowed" television is set up across from one of the larger couches, and the vhs on top of it. she had cookies in the oven, donuts and hot chocolate made and popcorn popped. the common room paintings are covered with sheets of cloth. all that was left was something cozy- but at this point, nene's made so many little cushions and blankets and even cozy pjs that that's super easy. all that was left was letting anyone who wanted to come know too. so at some point in the halls, nene walks down calling out: )

Cartoons in the common room! Bring blankets and stuff! 

( and, so everyone knows what their characters are getting into: hamster space wars is a movie series about different factions of hamsters that have been trying for cross planetary peace for ages now, with a villainous faction having sabotaged the final negotiations so they can control the war from the shadows to make the most money and also get the most seeds (Very Decadent). the first movie follows the main hamster and his little group trying to escape the villains after having witnessed the sabotage, and are trying to avoid assassination and end the war for good. the sequels follow allied factions, with hamster galactic wars being the Thrilling Conclusion. 

it's heartfelt. it's silly. it's very cute. nene loves it. )

[ Sara isn't usually very extroverted, but she's very much enjoying this chance to torment others with truth or dare. ]

If you want to hide, I think Shin might have a spare blanket for you. [ In that...giant pile of his. Ugh, what an annoying man. ] And if he doesn't share, just tell him I'll turn the tap on next time he's in the shower.

[What if Noah just says that unprovoked. Hey Shin, aka Dude Noah Doesn't Know, Sara's going to turn on the tap next time you shower. No reason, just 'cause.]

I'm not really good at parties. I mean... there's too many people. But it's Nene, so... I wanted to show up. The last time we had a big party like this, it was pretty good.

[Clamor was there last time... he's not this time, Noah supposes. Probably hanging out with his boyfriends. How even the Fuck did that happen anyway... he doesn't know.]

[ People who don't share don't deserve hot water, Noah. ]

Oh, you did this before? [ She pulls her knees to her chest to smile over at Noah. ] Anything interesting happen? Anyone die?

[She only likes gossip if it gets straight to the point. ]

Mmmhm... I didn't go to many parties back at school...I was always too busy. Maybe I thought they didn't suit the type of life I wanted to lead. Kind of idiotic, huh? So I'm happy to get to do this, you know...

No one died. We played something called a King's Game... I... uh. Got roped into it... [Noah turns very, very red, and follows that up with a whisper of,] Ouma and I made out on a dare.

[Anyway moving on haha let's not talk about that one.]

I wasn't allowed out of the house when I was growing up, so I never got to do this sort of stuff. The neighbours were pretty spaced out too, so it wasn't like I could go sneak off to someone else's house.

Ah, yes, you did mention not really going to school...I guess you don't get a lot of parties without school. Unless you were a super rich prince.

( nene is scooting close and... inhales. leans down, and gently kisses noah's cheek, cupping the other in her hand. )

[he's still drinking the hot chocolate from earlier when she comes back and

the panic is obvious. he turns bright red. he dies instantly. noah ebalon has passed on thanks for coming.]

( nene pauses and then leans over and whispers: )

I kinda wanted to. ... Although... to be honest, it was kind of a dare... but I wouldn't do it if I hadn't wanted to.

[In an equally small whisper because he doesn't know what to do and he's in cardiac arrest right now, probably,]

I-it's okay if it was just a dare. ...um.

[...leans over and kisses her cheek in return because what does he Do, no one told him what to Do in this situation, what should he Do what dOES HE DO—]

( OH NOOOO now she's blushing even more what do they dooooo

[sorry to anyone watching this who thought these two were functioning because they're definitely not

the last time noah was at a fun sleepover thing he made out with kokichi, so this is a lot cuter. and better. nene's cuter anyway.]

[ Sara's fallen victim to an unfortunate dare and arrives in front of Noah with a grimace. ]

You remind me of a kicked puppy.

[ She will actually point to Komeada and mouth "dare" at him. Don't actually freak out about this, please. We're still friends. ]

[Noah looks up from his sketchbook, looks at Sara, looks back down at his sketchbook, and mindlessly continues to scribble.]

I feel kinda like a kicked puppy sometimes, yeah.

[He had heard something was happening here but the last thing he expected to see was Noah drawing in the middle of the floor, but let alone with a giant cat.

He takes a sip of his canned coffee, slowly.]

What are you doing?

[Valid question, honestly.]

[Without looking up,]

[Due to the nature of the movie, the sketchpad is covered in myriads of cartoonish, fat hamsters, most of them stuffing seeds into their mouths.]

...oh, w-wait, did you mean the cat? It's just something I do with my magic.

[A soft half snort follows Noah’s words. Yukio crouches down next to him, though gives him enough space to not be crowding him.]

Can you only make cats?

[Sip.]

[Internal screaming because his art has been complimented and he has no choice but to be flustered about it, muttering out the tiniest little thanks of acknowledgement. Let's talk about shadow cats instead, it's easier.

Speaking of that shadow cat, it walks off of Noah's back and sits next to him; Noah himself sits up and drags his sketchbook into his lap.]

No, I can make other things. [He can shank people with his shadows too, but he's not going to say that.] Like dogs, or fish or something. Any requests?

[emptyembers]

[He sits back now, crossed-legged next to Noah. His gaze was still on his sketchbook, admiring the drawings. The most he could do was perhaps a stick figure with some curly hair. He wasn't very artistic. Athletic, yes. Ask him to draw something and he'd probably die.

After a few seconds, he pulled his gaze away and hummed softly to himself.]

Can you make the cat slimmer and have two tails?

[silentabyss]

Two tails?

[It's phrased curiously, not judgmentally; weirder things are on Elrios, he's just never seen a cat with two tails before. But, you know, who knows what's actually out there anyway, so yeah. Slimmer and with two tails, got it.

Noah waves his left hand around and the shadow cat begins to thin a bit, a second tail popping out of... well, nowhere really.]

[It was slightly too big, but then again, Kuro could change size at will so he didn't think it really mattered. But it was a good likeness, and it made him realize that he actually kind of missed him.

Kind of.]

That's really good. It resembles Rin's familiar.

[He has a fond smile on his face that he immediately hides behind his coffee.]
