September mini-event pt 2
09/17 06:00
It's early Friday morning, the silence lifted but still a while before npc students will start coming to school. The door to the student store remains locked, despite always being propped open by a doorstop first thing in the morning, like clockwork. In the pool building, the lights automatically switch on for the day, illuminating the water below.
A large black shape floats in the middle of the pool, air trapped in the fabric wrapped and tangled around it.

So did somebody use the locker Komaeda already destroyed to hide this... Also is this Clamor's spellbook that he usually carries around with him? I'm pretty sure Shuichi would recognize it if yes, but either way, he'll carefully take it out of the locker and look at it / page through it. Does anything about it immediately stand out?

There's a whole bunch of magic stuff idk how to describe but there's that, if Shuichi can make any sense of it. There's a red ribbon bookmark somewhere towards the front/middle of the spellbook, and a black and a green one towards the end of the book.

1. Makes sure there's nothing else in the locker.
and then
2. Takes the book with him and brings it... to Noah (I told Wolfie they'll be needed in here) where... he'll crouch beside him and do his best to be considerate. He can't even imagine how upset Noah is right now, but... this belongs to Clamor, right? If they look at the bookmarks and/or through it, maybe they can figure out what he was doing before... what happened.
(Also Noah can have the book either way.)

anyway, he'll leaf through it looking specifically for:
-If there's any damage to the book proper (pages torn out? graffiti/defacing the text? etc things people would do to a book if they wanted to destroy it ig)
-He'll check the red ribbon bookmark to see what's on that page, then the black/green one to see what's there too
-Any other bookmarks? especially ones that might be sort of hidden between the pages
-Are there any other things wedged between the pages, i.e. folded pieces of paper that weren't previously part of the book, photographs (like the one noah got as a plot clue a fucking eternity ago)... etc?

- The red bookmark looks brand new, and marks a page with notes on basic pyromancy and advanced fireballs. The black bookmark marks a page with hexes Clamor had learned from Lucifer, and at the bottom of the page is a list of herbs with lavender, chamomile, and peppermint circled. The green bookmark marks the start of several pages of messy notes, lopsided spell circles, and cheat sheets of Clamor's runes, and the handwriting does not match what Noah would recognize as Clamor's handwriting. These notes seem to be building towards a spell Noah will find "vaguely familiar, like he's maybe seen it in passing once but this one doesn't seem like it's been drawn right" that's all I've got for you, wolfie
- There are other bookmarks that mark things like barrier spells, celestial magic, healing magic, etc that are more aligned with things Clamor usually does that don't seem important. The notes on celestial magic is bookmarked with a yellow ribbons, and includes some sticky notes saying things like "for Noah" or "for Natsume" depending on the lesson, and little notes on what he wanted to teach them. Little doodled stars speckle the page
- There is nothing else between the pages

Small maybe nitpicky question, but if this happened outside there would probably be at least a *tiny* trace of dirt somewhere too. So, is there any or can they maybe deduce/assume with reasonable odds that the book was dropped somewhere indoors?

That's it for me (Shuichi would look at the body since Noah allowed it, but I assume he'd be no wiser than everyone else who has) but if Wolfie has more to ask they can. The spellbook stays with Noah, of course, Shuichi wouldn't take that from him.

the handwriting doesn't match... question, since the book has a bit of Outside on it, do the notes w/ the mismatched handwriting have this grime too, or were these... hidden after the fact

I have no further questions wrt to the book though, Noah will be keeping it on his person and probably trying to self-teach himself the spells that were bookmarked for him later, that way he can double-kill the person(s) who did this like, real good.
