Who: Whoever's in the dormitories

What: It's time for a little lecture. And a genuine information meeting. But mostly a lecture.
Warnings: N/A please don't make me change this.

Yogen and You: A Quick Summary
Held by Natsume Sakasaki
For those who need a summary of events, whether because our meetings rarely get anything done in terms of information sharing or because you're freshly awakened. Come around dinner time for food, enlightenment, and the opportunity to share your troubles with those going through the same thing.
The room will be locked all day until about half an hour before six, at which point it will become unlocked... this is primarily for Natsume to set up a table of food, but people can come sit in early if they like. There's an overhead projector that's been wheeled into the study hall all the way from school, and the curtains are drawn over the windows. It isn't dark though, since he still has the lights turned on...
Several tables have been pushed together to make at least three groups, chairs around them like they've been readied for a dinner party, while a few more are pushed a little further back and have absolutely no chairs whatsoever; those are for the food. There's also a chair by the overhead projector.
Your food and drink for tonight: lemon and rosemary roasted shrimp, white rice, rosemary and thyme chicken, a make-your-own-salad area with all kinds of salad-making ingredients, three types of eggrolls (seafood, vegetable, and pork), and various drinks from the vending machine because some of us can afford to spend a bunch of merit points on things like that.
When a sufficient amount of people have come in, or the clock hits 6:05, Natsume shuts the door, turns off the lights, and moves to the overhead projector. To stand on the chair, so he's the tallest person in here, and claps his hands to get people's attention. )
Save all questions and outbursts until the END, ( he says, and then kneels down on the chair and flicks the projector on.
All of the slides are pre-written on some transparent sheets that project onto a wall without windows, which he reads one by one without rushing! But for ease of reading OOCly, you can find the entire thing here. There's also photocopied handouts for people on all of the tables, stapled of course, so people who aren't blind (sorry Helena) can follow along at home!
He lets the last sheet stay up, his face half-illuminated by the overhead projector, then sits down in the chair and leans forward the back of it like some kind of delinquent. )
Alright, you can speak NOW.
( ooc notes: go ahead and treat this like one of our meetings, aka mingle, jump around, actually get a chance to share information that hasn't been talked about yet, etc. thank you plenty to enh and peace too for reviewing and suggesting things for the presentation \o/ )

cw / light... eye gore mention? i'm sorry?
Every time someone disagrees with something I SAY, they go and imply I'm being poSSESSED. I'm going to gouge my eyes out one of these days so none of you can claim such ridiculous bullshit against me anyMORE, just because people's thoughts can develop over time when presented with new informaTION.
( a long, bedraggled sigh. maybe he'll quit the meeting early and just make subaru take notes for him, the little daikichis in the corner will be so cute and nice when he wakes up. )
I'm not saying we should focus solely on graduation—that's only relevant to third years anyway—but I do want to make it clear we're in this school because we died at some POINT. The how and why matter to some exTENT, but I don't think we're going to find out unless we stumble upon a gorinto or something that explains THAT. ( maybe they're in that fourth floor hallway, or maybe they're nowhere, or maybe they're not dead just comatose and that's why they're different than everyone else here. who knows. ) I'm sure there are other ways of escaping this hellHOLE. It seems ridiculous to think there's only one WAY, though it might be the most surefire one presented to the student body as a WHOLE.
( and, like... if they were just being harvested for food, why bother going through so much trouble? why turn a blind eye to violence? you get delicious chicken by raising them with love and by making sure they remain happy and unstressed. whatever her argument to subaru might be, it doesn't make sense to him for the school to not actively discourage violence and terror if they're just going to be eaten by whatever the hell she thinks they're going to be eaten by. )

it's not like he doesn't see where stephanie is coming from, having been hesitant of the third year trifle of graduating, but she's a second year... and maybe this is why they're told first years and second years shouldn't focus on graduating,
maybe they go through what stephanie is doing...
well, let's help her overcome that! )
Do you believe that's the only way? Your plan has a few holes in it, but Rokkun wants to dismantle everything from the inside out... ah, he's actually on our side.
( and able to accept that they're dead, and that they're spirits to move to another place, whereas he is going to graduate, and go back home. for where everyone else goes here...
ah, there's no need to break it up, he's just here to make a little comment and shut up while they get a bit of arguing in. )
Did you know that? What's a school if it doesn't exist anymore?

Now, now... there's a difference between you two. Whereas you fret over your concerns, allowing it to consume you... he understands and moves with thoughts first, and willing to work with others. There's no room to be selfish, Stephanie, especially when you're all on the same side. It's true, you have to open your eyes to the truth... or everything you've done so far will mean nothing... as you can see Sakasaki-kun has went through his own dilemmas, and despite all that... he hasn't allowed this school to stop his hopes... ( from being possessed, to watching someone die, he's been through quite a lot, and here he is now... accepting the truth, using it to move forward by bringing it to the group — to think he could have been selfish, crippled everyone with the information because komaeda sure as hell wasn't going to make it a big thing... they should be thanking him actually. )
Sakasaki-kun thought about you, but I didn't think you were the type to be so self-serving... What happened to thinking about others, Stephanie?
( isn't that what she said to someone a little bit ago?
that said, komaeda's going to look at a table nearby, and spots something he thinks will be useful. he reaches for an untouched plate of dumplings, still hot because he's lucky! and he sits it on the table next to both natsume and stephanie, the plate clinking against the surface. )
With all this arguing... you must be pretty hungry, both of you, so why not indulge to calm your nerves...
no subject
natsume's taking a dumpling and throwing it at komaeda, he's going to go collect his transparent sheets, turn off the overhead projector, and then open the curtains so they can have some real light in here. )

( he's going to pick up the dumping natsume threw at him, cause komaeda is going to get a bruise from this, and instead throws it at stephanie — is he lucky? does he get his target. )
...Do you remember what I said about Seki-kun? He was a third year, but he was fighting with Arisu-kun in their hope... I believe we should let them handle this, and we work in our own ways to help hope prosper! Not argue against it, various means could bring upon a wonderful outcome!
no subject
I'm the only one here who isn't deluded! You're all accepting what people tell you and not even wondering why they could be telling you these things!
And Hiro didn't attack that guy for hope; he did it 'cause he wanted to! That's why everybody does what they do!
no subject
( he's going to sit down.. maybe chuck some food at... whoever is nearby. stephanie is like a rock, she didn't react! )

If they're anything like what I'm thinking... Cutting them off from this place will kill them anyway. If they can live without hurting others... But, if they can't...
[the real answer is that she doesn't know. and being unsure of that frightens her.]
no subject
( he's willing to listen, because back home the children have killed adults before, and so if there's a real reason that stephanie has that makes sense then... )
...Though, when have the adults hurt you?
no subject
[she does, notably, not answer the question.]
no subject
...What adults are keeping you here? You're only trapped here if you allow yourself to be, but your focus can't primarily be the school... there's different variables and sides depending on how you look at things. If you're afraid, I'm sure those can understand... but causing yourself to fall in a pit of disarray will only eat you away inside.
( he hums, patting his legs. )
We're losing what was left of our Stephanie, while everyone is still... them.
no subject
[she gives him a rictus grin, and even that doesn't meet her eyes.]
If I started walking, away from this place, what would happen? Could I make it to the next town over, and call my uncle for a ride? No? Because I'm trapped here! I can't leave! The only thing you should be focused on is this school, because it's our prison!
[a pause... then a humorless little chuckle.]
You know who here is really suspicious? That shopkeeper! They sure did come out of nowhere with all sorts of interesting things. And they sure have all of you wrapped around their little finger... Maybe I'm wrong to blame the adults here. Maybe the evil here looks a lot smaller.
no subject
[subaru's piping up again, anger flaring.]
They're just as trapped as we are, Steph.

While I don't agree with Meanswell, she's entitled to her own opinion about all of THIS, and given her age she's only going to dig her feet in further the more we argue against HER. ( tired and factual-sounding that's him right now ) Meanswell, go ahead and accuse the little wolf of whatever it is you think this school is up TO, or do the same to one of the staff members HERE. At least one of them has to pull the old villain monologue on YOU, assuming you've sussed out their plan like you think they HAVE.
But I think we've both said everything we can say to one another right NOW.

Will writing me off as a dumb little kid make you feel better when you realize you let yourself be duped?
no subject
I'm not writing you off as a little KID, but I am running on an hour and a half of SLEEP, and I'm not in the mood to keep arguing with YOU. If you still want to discuss this when we're both less prone to snapping each other's heads OFF, then FINE, we can TALK, but I have enough life experience to know when I'm doing the equivalent of shouting at a brick WALL.
( there's no use is trying to change the minds of people who don't want it changed. he knows he's guilty of being stubborn too, but are we here to reflect on our mistakes? not this meeting.
anyway, he's gonna head... out, don't kill each other in this log guys i am BEGGING YOU. )
