They might not have the budGET. Look at the state the dormitories were in just a few months aGO... ( Saddening. ) It isn't that surprising THOUGH. My school aSIDE, most schools put sports and academics as their priority rather than the ARTS.

[ Meng Yao can't be too surprised that monetary funding seems to be lacking, considering. Though it's the followup that makes his eyebrows furrow a tad. ]
Why are sports put into a higher category of importance than arts?
[ It's not exactly something he has ever encountered before. The idea of arts be 'lacking' in such schooling...though he wonders if it should be attributed to the fact this school is different from any he may have ever been remotely familiar with. ]

RaTHER, on the whole sports tend to draw more eyes and money to a school—the same goes for acadeMICS, with higher-ranking schools given more grants to do as they wish WITH. Their prestige also goes up with both THINGS... The arts generally have their own SCHOOLS, some more vocational in naTURE, and they operate on a different set of ranKINGS. It's just as impressive to get into Geidai as it is Kyodai though; both have extremely low acceptance raTINGS, but the amount of work and effort you have to put in every day is much higher than at a less prestigious-ranking universiTY.

I'd considered that with the advancement of technology that such matters could be more easily navigated, but I suppose that presents new challenges all on its own, doesn't it?
