...You're rather talented. Did you take lessons back home, or teach yourself while you have been here?
no subject
The forMER, though nothing all that reCENT. You could say I have a knack for picking things up quickly and retaining them THOUGH.
( ...What marks him as a "genius," even though it's hardly that. Anything looks like genius, like talent, if you put enough of yourself into it, and Natsume tried dozens of activities thanks to his parents and found himself bored with almost every one of them. Good at them, but bored with them. )
We have recordings of the songs themSELVES, but it's easier to match pitch with a piaNO. ( And he... needs that, because he doesn't sing to himself the way Subaru does, and he hasn't been doing anything otherwise "idol-like" while he's been here.
...Certain things aside. Brushing that thought away, ) Do you know how to PLAY?
no subject
[ Of picking things up and retaining them. Partly for actual lack of trying at times due to his extraordinary memory, but other times due to the amount of effort he's willing to put into something. He doesn't really like to take to things half-way. ]
It's rather thoughtful of you to record songs yourself. [ He imagines the other has been writing them down himself because he's still not too well-adjusted to the way modern worlds have sped along in technology, even if he's come farther than before. ] But yes, I do know how to play. Before, not so much.
You see, back in my home world, this kind of instrument was practically unheard of. I remember talking with Ishimaru-xiong rather early on about it, since we'd briefly got into a discussion about what we could play. Since then I had taken some time to learn it, and it's a rather different experience than playing something like, say...the qin.
I do have to wonder if they happen to have something else to play eventually. It seems a little lacking, if you know what I mean.

They might not have the budGET. Look at the state the dormitories were in just a few months aGO... ( Saddening. ) It isn't that surprising THOUGH. My school aSIDE, most schools put sports and academics as their priority rather than the ARTS.

Sakisaki-san, hi! Are you free right now? [ Sara was unsure if Natsume charges a fee for his fortunes, but she's going to set down some snacks...a friendly bribe, of course! She doesn't have any money :( ]
Finals are coming up...and I used to get my fortune read for good luck around exam season. If its really good...who knows maybe I'll spend less time studying!
no subject
My, I hadn't expected you to be the type to believe in this type of THING... Most students these days don't seem to BE. ( For education anyway, love? That's different.
Anyways he'll give her his pack of cards. ) Shuffle those and then spread them on the desk; pick the one that calls to you the MOST.
no subject
Um...well, there's believing and there's having fun! Do I need to believe in fate with my whole heart to enjoy having my fortune told?
[ Maybe it's bad to speak so frankly about his livelihood and passions like that...but Natsume seems like a sensible and open minded person. It's not that Sara is against the whole idea of fate, but enjoying fortune telling feels different from really dedicating herself to the idea, you know?
It's why she sticks to her grades. L-love...maybe she wants to keep that mysterious and out of the hands of fate or someone's cards. Or just come off as cooler then she actually is...
She shuffles the deck to follow his instructions, but simply sticks to picking the three cards closer to her without much thought. Simple. assertive and too the point. ]
Here you go.
no subject
( Anyway, her three cards are... Two of spades, Jack of clubs, and two of hearts. An interesting set. )
...Your grades aren't in the best of shape right now, are THEY.

for subaru 11/peacepickaday
you know
being the nosy twat he is, he's just gone ahead and investigated this before either of them have to go off to their temporary unit practice. when he hears subaru enter—and he can tell it's him, he could tell even before the whole working-on-his-other-senses thing—he doesn't try to hide the book or anything.
he just calls from the top bunk, sound like a cat that's gotten into the cream: )
Welcome BACK, Baru-kun.
4 then for subaru wantin to die
How'd you get up here?
no subject
( please... natsume peers at him over the book, eyebrows raising. )
Though I would've thought Journey to the West was more your style than this ONE.
no subject
[which true, it really isn't. he'll climb up and make himself comfy next to natsume, this is his bunk so his rules.]
Also, I wouldn't read that either. I wanna see it on stage.

ghost visitation rights w senpai 11/2
natsume does his best to put it out of his mind, even though june's incidents have never really strayed that far from them, especially with chiaki now a returned student. seeing spirits isn't also an unusual occurrence for him nowadays, but the spirits he sees are usually limited to kazuki and haruka—not the flash of silver hair that catches his eye as he turns the corner to head to class.
he stares at izumi sena, certainly dead and certainly a ghost going by his translucency, and thinks about the other people he's seen in the background the past two days—people he was familiar with, people he wasn't, people...
but sena's not quite background material, not like them, and you know what? natsume isn't a model student anyway, he can skip class today, he has some culture festival business to discuss with subaru— so he locks eyes with sena, then immediately turns around and walks the other way. )
knock knock, bitch
but right now, he doesn't have any of that. his translucent self is in his cruddy yogen uniform, and he's never looked plainer.
but natsume wishes this is the only reason why izumi's unbelievably pissed right now. ]
Wow, not even a hello? [ crosses his arms as he watches natsume turn tail. ] Don't tell me you're actually going to run away, Sakasaki. I'd expected far better from you.
sobbing
natsume pauses, wishing sena had just been like every other ghost content to ignore him and walk around without a care, then turns back around with half a smile as he... returns to walking towards his classroom, pausing a few feet short of sena, though. )
...It's good to see YOU, Sena-senpai. ( it isn't, actually. and yet it is, because he can finally say something he's been meaning to say for a while— ) I'm sorry for what hapPENED.
( even if it wasn't him.
even if he couldn't control it.
...he's sorry. )
no subject
izumi purses his lips, as if he's about to spit out a snappy comeback, but -- nothing. he should be outright furious, should be reaching for natsume's neck right now to make it even, but his usual anger doesn't come. seems that being dead has tempered his... well, temper, somewhat.
it's frustrating. ]
I just wanna know... what exactly happened back there. Like, you weren't usually that bloodthirsty? Nor jacked as hell like Mikejima.

for amami, 11/enhpicksthis
in natsume's opinion, usually for worse.
there are undoubtedly days where keigo is out and amami is in, and it's one of those days where natsume crosses the hall and finds their room, staring at the door for a moment before he knocks twice. )
tentative 6
Oh, hey Sakasaki-kun. Wasn't expecting you to drop by.
( kind of strange, since natsume never seems all too happy about his presence, but not so strange that he's offput by it. this is subaru's friend, rika's friend, and as much as amami may be a little on guard about him even now, it would be pretty hypocritical to write him off completely at this point. he can be civil about things.
for now, he figures whatever it is will be quick, leaning against the doorframe with his arms folded lightly over his chest. )
What's up, you need something?
no subject
I wanted to get to know you betTER. Baru-kun ( he makes a slight grimace, before it slips off ) keeps calling us "practically in-LAWS," seeing as you're extremely close to the little shopkeeper and he's involved with THEM, so... He'd like for us to be good FRIENDS. I'm not entirely opposed to the idea eiTHER, I guess; it's just been difficult to figure out how to approach it given all that's happened since JUNE.
( this is a lie.
but natsume is a good liar; nothing about him seems off when he speaks it, and he's made sure to make it sound plausible enough to be something subaru might vaguely request of him. )
Do you mind spending some time with ME? We can watch a movie or play a game or someTHING. I have a little free time between practice toDAY.
no subject
Oh? Wasn't expecting that, but I don't see why not. To tell the truth, it's kind of a relief. Here I was thinking that you just didn't like me for some reason.
( and even if he looks sheepish about it, it's nice to think that might not have been the case. )
Ah, I'm not too busy though, so what kind of game were you thinking?
( not that he has any in his and keigo's room, gesturing expectantly back down the hall for natsume to lead the way. )
