Who: Faculty, and idk if you wanna bring a +1 i won't stop you, i'm not a cop
What: FACULTY MEETING
When: 12/6, 7pm-ish
Where: Faculty office
Warnings: TBA
[a note, in a childish scrawl of blue ink, is placed on the desk of every teacher.
The rumors are true.
Here, tonight, 7pm.
We can't do nothing.
at the appointed time and place, you can find Sportacus sitting cross-legged on his own desk. he is eating an apple, though mostly he's just taken one bite of it and is otherwise using it to gesticulate.]
"Every student that fails their exams will be killed. Sometimes, they make you do it." That is how the teacher next door described it, when I asked. [pause] That is not good! So, it cannot happen. I hope there's no debate on that, but...
[he's heard things about some of you fuckers and he's not impressed, basically.
still, he smiles. but he always does that.]
We have very little time to do an impossible thing. Luckily, that is when most impossible things are done!
[he gestures vaguely before him. the floor is open, gentlemen. let's save our students.]

Tutoring may help, but, based on the grades of my students right now... [shakes head] Faking one or two deaths is one thing. More than ten will be very hard to get past them.

Uh, yeah. I don't think the people in charge are that careless. Chances of getting away with it are pretty slim...
[ He has one of his lollipops in his mouth, and he idly chews on it between sentences. ]
I mean, we're not that bad at teaching, right? My students might get themselves killed first before I'm asked to do anything, haha....

[ Senku full well knows how draining this place can be- it's not the best environment for studying by a long shot. ]

[ He just got here, this is so much. ]

cw needle talk just in case??
[ he's going to lose his mind ]
What's with the murder thing, anyway? Is there even a point to any of it?
no subject
Nerves might be getting to them. It's possible you might need to focus on things not regarding needles for a bit.
( as for the other thing... )
If there's a point, it's not one that makes any sense to me. For a place that's trying to nurture and strengthen souls, it feels self-sabotaging at best.

[ Coming up with clothing designs shouldn't be as difficult, he hopes... Surely he won't fail them on that, right... ]
Have you guys been asked to do stuff like this before?
no subject
( figures they'd ask this of them on fuckin' christmas though. )

[ merry...christmas...... ]

... It could be a facet of responsibility for the staff. They aren't quite like us, after all. But if we stick it out we could at least learn about other things- you weren't here for this, Ramuda, but a few months back there was a typical flower sack baby project. The moment class was over on the last day, the teachers bailed- just as the sacks "hatched". If there's any other things coming up, we can at least catch wind of it.
( the question is if this is really worth it or not. )
no subject
[ Sorry, Sidney, this is probably a discussion you weren't expecting to have-- ]
What did they hatch into?
no subject
So, in normal places that aren't... Yogen, two students are paired up to raise a fake baby. Flour is commonplace as a standard sack of flower weighs as much as an average infant. Students are graded on teamwork, meeting the fake baby's needs in more advanced projects, and keeping it in tact.
Here, however, there was something not right about the flour sacks that were given out- as time passed, they were... growing. It was like they were organic. They'd grow heartbeats, move- and when they hatched, there were a variety of little monsters of all kinds. If they touched you, you'd lose a sense corresponding to what they grabbed- someone I know lost his sight temporarily when his monster reached for his eyes, and Clamor couldn't feel anything for a week or so.
( so, uh. yeah. that sucked. )

[ .....well then. That's Fine? That's fine. ]
That sounds soooo gross! This place is pretty messed up, huh! Making everyone do something so disgusting...
[ His voice is pitched in a way where it's slightly obnoxious, laced with disgust and disapproval, but it's all to mask how legitimately fearful he actually is. ]
Is that something we gotta expect while we're here? All these creepy projects...

( but not as bad as being asked to kill students for failing a test. )
Something similar hasn't happened in some time, but I'm not about to assume that these exams are the last of it.
no subject
[he usually tries to keep the. open frustration. out of his voice. but he's just increasingly failing at it.]
Who is this benefiting? Us? I don't know much about souls, but I don't feel as if they are being bettered in any way here! If anything, I only see the opposite!
no subject
You aren't the only one. I don't think the answer will ever satisfy us, either.
( after all, being asked to kill... only a very select few would find this a positive. he's certainly not one of them. )

I am not even sure it's within our control.

Still, there must be something. Even if we cannot save them, there must be a way to help, even if it's just...
[just their own.]
no subject
...As in, make their deaths swift?
[ Which, he supposes is an idea, if they are unable to save them. If there is no other way, then they can at least ensure their deaths are quick. He does have his eyes downcast as he states this though because still not ideal. ]
Or do you mean something else?
no subject
[he killed a herring once and only cried for three weeks he can do this.]
From what I've heard, the students will be fighting each other. I can only guess, but... Maybe they just need to survive? We could help with that.
no subject
Yes, that's certainly true.
[ Just to ensure that they kill the other opposition to emerge alive, it sounds like. He can't help but imagine it something like they saw with the student council... competition. Which appears unsurprisingly it is in the same vein, really. ]
Giving them a few pointers would definitely help; if they're more prepared, there is a higher chance they'll live through it.
