Who: Faculty, and idk if you wanna bring a +1 i won't stop you, i'm not a cop
What: FACULTY MEETING
When: 12/6, 7pm-ish
Where: Faculty office
Warnings: TBA
[a note, in a childish scrawl of blue ink, is placed on the desk of every teacher.
The rumors are true.
Here, tonight, 7pm.
We can't do nothing.
at the appointed time and place, you can find Sportacus sitting cross-legged on his own desk. he is eating an apple, though mostly he's just taken one bite of it and is otherwise using it to gesticulate.]
"Every student that fails their exams will be killed. Sometimes, they make you do it." That is how the teacher next door described it, when I asked. [pause] That is not good! So, it cannot happen. I hope there's no debate on that, but...
[he's heard things about some of you fuckers and he's not impressed, basically.
still, he smiles. but he always does that.]
We have very little time to do an impossible thing. Luckily, that is when most impossible things are done!
[he gestures vaguely before him. the floor is open, gentlemen. let's save our students.]

FAKING DEATHS
Still... he's not going to reveal one aspect of his plan, because the amount of people saveable that way is limited. Revealing it would lead to arguments over who fills that number and what that number should be and... he's tired.
He's sick, of debates over who gets to live and who gets to die, and why. So he's picking the weak people in his care and folding the rest of his pained cracked heart away and telling himself it's all he can do.
Still, there's things he can share. He can at least help where he can.]
We all know someone's going to suggest it: extra tutoring. So, ahaha, I might as well save us some time and say that should be happening anyway. No, let's talk about something else.
"Sometimes they make you do it", huh. That might be just our luck. How diligent do you think they'd be about checking?
no subject
Tutoring may help, but, based on the grades of my students right now... [shakes head] Faking one or two deaths is one thing. More than ten will be very hard to get past them.

Uh, yeah. I don't think the people in charge are that careless. Chances of getting away with it are pretty slim...
[ He has one of his lollipops in his mouth, and he idly chews on it between sentences. ]
I mean, we're not that bad at teaching, right? My students might get themselves killed first before I'm asked to do anything, haha....

[ Senku full well knows how draining this place can be- it's not the best environment for studying by a long shot. ]

[ He just got here, this is so much. ]

cw needle talk just in case??
[ he's going to lose his mind ]
What's with the murder thing, anyway? Is there even a point to any of it?
no subject
Nerves might be getting to them. It's possible you might need to focus on things not regarding needles for a bit.
( as for the other thing... )
If there's a point, it's not one that makes any sense to me. For a place that's trying to nurture and strengthen souls, it feels self-sabotaging at best.

Still, there must be something. Even if we cannot save them, there must be a way to help, even if it's just...
[just their own.]
no subject
...As in, make their deaths swift?
[ Which, he supposes is an idea, if they are unable to save them. If there is no other way, then they can at least ensure their deaths are quick. He does have his eyes downcast as he states this though because still not ideal. ]
Or do you mean something else?

arrives a day late with starbucks
The problem... [Lucifer makes a face,] is that the more students I hex, the greater the strain is on me, which means I would be unable to do much else during that two-month period. This is less of a problem than I think it will be, but I have been called to continually do magics of various types since my arrival here, thus the statement.
The next problem is that I do not believe that the students' names disappear from the rosters if we do not kill them, meaning the other faculty members will know the children are still alive.
no subject
The roster doesn't get updated instantly so... we have some time. No idea if it's magic, but sometimes there's delays of two weeks... so it's probably just someone updating it. We just need to fool them.
[Tricky, if they don't know who it is, though.]
Given how many people are expected to die... it's probably going to be updated all at once to get it over with, or in successive chunks, right? [He's seen that sort of saving up at work on it before.] Haha, this could be a good thing, actually. If we disappear students for just long enough to get them removed from the roster... maybe we won't need to wait two months, if they're careful.
[Which means... Lucifer might be able to save more, with the same amount of energy?]
no subject
Does it not? I'm glad you've been paying attention to that. [That's good, actually. They can work with this.] Ideally, I'd like us all to save as many people as possible. The issue still becomes where to hide them, where they cannot be discovered easily.
[...]
We're taking a huge gamble here. No matter what we do, we put ourselves in danger as well. I state that not because I personally want to back out, but because I recognize that some of you may wish to. In that case, I'll pick up the slack. I understand that people may not want to endanger themselves here.

[Lucifer's right that it's a gamble but... there has to be ways for them to even the odds in their favour. Shin's not a fan of dying, but risk of dying... there's more wriggle room the more things up their sleeve.
He's still going to do it regardless, but it just makes practical sense, to try and pull this off as cleanly as possible... and others might be more on the fence.]
Distraction's a good idea though... They're going to be pretty busy as it is, so that also helps us.
[It gives them a little more leeway than if they tried this at any other time, maybe, although at any other time it wouldn't be necessary. At least this way if it does go wrong, it falls on them as Sportacus says.]

( komaeda has done his prying and gnawing into a certain someone's brain, and he has to play the part of not knowing anything — it's better that way considering some worries that came up in the conversation.
anyway, this sounds fun. )
I can offer my assistance, I'm not losing much from my class... ( he lifts one hand, tapping his index finger against his chin, also referring to the number that's failed in his class. ) ah, so just sneak your failing students into my room, and we'll pretend they're passing.
( is this supposed to help? who knows, but let's talk about how many in everyone's classes are failing, shall we? )

Besides, they'd do good debating with my class. I always need extra students!

How many are you struggling with?
