( wow... wow!! right down to the specific breed of fish, incredible... amami will peek over at the goldfish guide, and then start glancing through the others too — did he luck into anything about seahorses here? amami'd love to find more on them; all he's gotten so far is that they're a "high level" and "difficult" fish meant for experienced aquarium keepers. he's hardly about to let that stop him, but he does want to be responsible about making sure he's doing it right when he does.

( literally, it's not a fleeting skip of his heart, it's a constant feeling that makes him happy for the moment while he lifts one hand to read his palm. there's no answer that'll tell him how to act or what to say, but being able to focus on a distraction helps him refrain from embarrassing himself anymore than he already has. his giggle is strained, but he manages to recompose himself after a minute or two of staring. )

Anyway, lets focus on the plan for now. I can't believe you were able to find this many books — even if you call it useless, I'm kind of envious of luck like that. Seems like all that ever comes my way is bad luck.
( ultimate unlucky student, he'd be lying if he tried to claim he hadn't considered that as his talent at least once or twice. amami's already pulling that one out specifically, flipping through the pages and illustrations absently as he checks to see if there's any pages that mention the kind he was interested in. )

( the library has always been his safe haven, a place where he can remain safe without having to watch his back. that's why he was able to find so many books because this place works in his favor, had they been anywhere else, and who knows what could have happened. he doesn't explain that properly, and so he decides to leave this up to amami's way of viewing such a miserable talent. )

( brutal??? komaeda doesn't think amami's really just going to let him say that and then change the subject, does he? as much as he's interested in seahorses — and he does pause on a page about dwarf seahorses, a picture depicting one smaller than the size of someone's pinky — but stops there, setting the book down as he looks at komaeda. actually, let him sit up on this table here, crossing his legs and resting his weight against his hand, leaning just a little bit towards the other to indicate his interest. )

( there's no point in hiding, but there's no point in explaining either. his luck has been exploited by now, amami is aware of what it can do, but not the way it proceeds indepth. his eyes stare at the other for a moment, and he glances off to the side as he sits down. )
There's a consequence for everything Amami-kun, so you have to think smart. ...Hm, if you lose your memories, you have to write a book with what you know, so when they're all gone, you'll have it to reference to.

I have a book like that, but I guess what you're talking about is more like... a memory diary? But what brought this up — I don't remember mentioning having any problems with my memory aside from my talent.

( though, this is more about the bad luck of losing them, and then the good luck of regaining them because of making a book. he was lucky to have someone before do such a thing that's led to the idea, isn't it lucky... that someone lost everything about him that manifests into a proper idea of those who need it.
