FEBRUARY EVENT LOG/TDM
02/07 - 02/11 School Trip
✽ At 8AM sharp on Monday the 7th, all students are asked to gather in the auditorium to go over the school trip to Tokyo DisneySea; those who decide to stay at school, however, are instructed to attend school as normal and use their days as a study hall or free period. Those grades won't keep themselves up, after all.
✽ Those who are going on the field trip will be given the rundown: they'll be staying at DisneySea for five days and four nights, at the Hotel MiraCosta located inside the park. They'll be lead in lines to the front gate of the school, consciousness wavering as they pass through the open gates, and they open their eyes to find themselves in the parking lot of Tokyo DisneySea, sluggish and drowsy, as if they'd dozed off and had just awoken from a very, very long drive. Characters will have to wait in line for quite some time, with the rate of it moving at an achingly slow 0.00000005 miles per hour (or so it feels) before they're able to get their tickets to the park, a knife, and their complimentary map to guide the way.
✽ Welcome to Disney! DisneySea, to be precise! Made up of seven different port areas, it's a treat for those who enjoy the water—and one for those who don't as well, considering its expansive amount of land-locked attractions. The world is your oyster after you enter the Mediterranean Harbor with its Venetian gondolas and southern European charm, with the American Waterfront to your left and the Mysterious Island straight ahead. Past those are Port Discovery, Lost River Delta, Mermaid Lagoon, and the Arabian Coast—it's probably not doable in a day, so isn't it lucky you get to spend the a whole five days here instead? Characters such as Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Pluto, Chip & Dale, Donald Duck, and so on and so forth can be found wandering the areas, with Ariel found specifically in the Mermaid Lagoon; the Genie, Aladdin, Jafar, and Jasmine in the Arabian Coast; and Pinocchio, Jiminy Cricket, Geppetto, and the Fox in the American Waterfront. Get a picture and make some memories, because day light is burning, and it'll be closing time before you know it!
✽ Things take on a little bit of a twist when night falls; attractions refuse to work the right way, shadows seem to follow you wherever you go, and the cast members walking around seem a little more sharp-eyed and sharp-tongued than usual. The food tastes worse, as if it's spoiled rotten, and the water beneath the ports churns unsettlingly. All guests are ushered either out or to the hotel as the clock ticks closer to 9PM each day, with forcefully cheerful goodbyes and perhaps a little more pushing than necessary.
✽ Hotel MiraCosta is a gorgeous experience that's hauntingly devoid of people aside from those coming from Yogen, and even it isn't immune from the chilly atmosphere that sinks in around DisneySea when night falls: you might see glimpses of your home world but empty in the mirrors, or a shadowy figure with a knife poised ready to stab you in the back— and if you don't turn quick enough, that might just become your reality. In other reflective surfaces, like the shine of the floors or the water of a fountain gone still after hours, characters will find their worst fears on full display and reaching out to grab them; falling prey to this will put them temporarily in a fit, as if they're trapped in a nightmare. Other characters can wake them up, but if they're alone... Well, you better hope someone finds you soon: spending too long in the nightmare will have you seeing ghosts of those you miss and those you've wronged before. One will tempt you into going with them to the other side, while the other will make an attempt on your life. The pool isn't safe either: anyone swimming in the dark will find themselves at risk of drowning, feeling as if their feet have been caught by something or someone. Of course, the hotel is perfectly safe and ordinary in the day time, so you have nothing to worry about then! Night-time is just a different matter.
✽ For those who decide to investigate the park after hours will find the cast members remain long after the guests have left, and they make a sport of those who either stay past closing or who trespass on park grounds. Take care out there in DisneySea's version of The Most Dangerous Game— Mickey's got a gun, and he's not afraid to use it. Not every cast member will be out to get you though: the Genie, Donald and Daisy Duck, and the Fox will all help characters who need it... for a price. These can range from the absurd to the impossible to the cruel, though the Ducks tend to be nicer in their requests than the other two.
✽ And those shadows from before, attraction mishaps, and more? They'll still happen, and as the week's nights go on, it gets harder and harder to survive the park. Saw this and laughed, but good news, guys! The staff is here to help you out this time.

02/12 - end of the month
✽ Wasn't that fun... With everybody reenergized after the school trip, classes continue as usual. Math is tough and philosophy is confusing, but after a gloomy overcast January, the sun is shining this month and it becomes harder and harder to resist just walking out the door and into the woods and never returning.
✽ Those who escape reality by running away from their problems will find that they are able to step past the tree line for the first time this school year, and that they can continue walking without bounds. The forest seems to go on and on and on without end, gradually sloping upwards the further away from the school but never seeming to reach a crest. Eventually, you may come across a river that runs nearby the school, shallow and calm in places and wide and rushing in others, with little piles of rocks along the riverbank as if of somebody trying to stack rocks as high as they can go. Scattered about the forest, characters may also come across much larger rocks, bound with rope and spread just far enough apart that you are able to see the next one when standing by the first, if you know where to look.
✽ Quiet and peaceful, the forest is otherwise full of life if you pay attention: you can hear the chirping of birds, small critters scuttling through the underbrush, the distant howl of wolves. If you're very still and quiet, you may be able to see some of the wildlife, and those that hunt them. When night falls, you may see little pinpoints of light floating around past the trees; they would be easy to mistake for fireflies if they did not glow a faint blue, the same shade as the flowers of the wisteria tree, and upon closer look appear to be butterflies fluttering low to the ground, feeding upon rotting carcasses and pools of blood.
✽ The trees are pine trees.
✽ At the end of the month, even if you've decided to go feral and live in the woods, all characters will be pinged on their PDAs:

Why wouldn't he ask for you? ( the words hidden underneath the question is there, concerned, but rhetorical, "aren't you two friends?" that there's no way the other wouldn't, because it's a part of life, so subaru would ask, wouldn't he? )

Anything that's been tossed up on his bed is a reTURN. Leave the rocks under my bed TOO. I don't need THEM. There are bottles for my perfumes--they're small and deliCATE, so be careful with THEM. I brought anything else I could carry oVER, so don't worry about any of THAT.

( his voice comes out fifteen minutes later, walling into star four once again to find his companion on the floor. the black hole follows behind komaeda while there's a few delicate bottles in his hand — he squats down in front of a shelf, labeled poisons of all kinds: castor seeds, bromomethane, and pure nitrogen gas, with a stopper that can connect to a gas mask.
he makes sure natsume's items have a large gap from komaeda's stuff. )

what a mess. natsume draws a shaky breath and squeezes his eyes shut, but he doesn't take back his words or his actions no matter how present the ache in his heart and his head stays. slowly, he lifts the latter and stares across the room. he needs... an excuse for why he's suddenly here, too.

From that stutter, it doesn't sound like a normal fight...
( if it wasn't for the stutter, if it wasn't for how stressed out natsume seems. he's one who can adjust to the situation, he's almost seen it all before, but this time... what was so overwhelming that the other couldn't handle? there's a purse of his lips, his thumb now brushing against natsume's cheek before taking it back as he sits down properly. he thinks of what subaru said to him not too long ago, something risky, something stupid, and komaeda threatened to kill him on the spot if it brought despair.
there are people he'll protect from it, but this doesn't seem to be quite it, where this is something painful, something that feels raw — he could search for the wound, he's interested in the color that natsume bleeds. )
No problem... it's a full house, but you can take my bed. I'll sleep with Yabusame-kun, inform Hinata-kun not to pry, and... you know how Add-kun is, he won't either unless he's worried.
( the room is... considerate somewhat, alice is kind, thoughtful, and he probably will try. hinata is different, he thinks more, he's aware of how he should go about navigating his relationships, he thinks logically. then add, a genius in his own right, but bad with feelings— hell, these three are like the stooges in this room, but it's a good place nonetheless. )

Baru-kun just did something very stupid for someone ELSE. It's no different than me trading away my eyeSIGHT.
( except his vision doesn't make up who he is. doesn't inform his relationships, why people are important to him, how they met. it's just a sense, and one that plenty of people live without. )
I didn't like IT, and even though he said I was the one person who could change his mind--there's no way I could HAVE. ( he's not that important. not a single word meant anything to subaru there--it isn't a fair thought, it's an untrue and cruel one, but if hurt makes it easier for subaru to let go of his memories then it's hurt that makes it easier for natsume to saw at the red string that ties him and subaru together.
whether the blade is made of the truth or made of lies--it doesn't matter. ) He's always so bull-headed when it comes to the people he LOVES... It was the same way with his uNIT. There is always someone ( he says softer, but firmer ) more important than ME.

could he throw away natsume? komaeda watches, silent, knowing nothing he says can ease the other's feelings. it feels like subaru's worrisome decision dug into his flesh deep, komaeda's seeing the color of natsume's blood, the way his heart beats, and it spurts from his chest.

at least natsume still calls subaru that nickname, there'a still an attachment through words. )

( but it's true, he has memories. memories to him are... not as serious as someone like hinata would make them. they are personalized for everyone, because how they view it is different, and what they did in that moment will never change unless tampered. memories can make up a person, some others value because it's all they have to remember another. )
...They're like a storm. When the lightening strikes, it's there, until it's gone, and all I have left is the impressions until I start to forget the general design. It fades away, but they're mine. I only remember hope, and Ultimates, that's something that never leaves.
( everything else is like the lightening that only stays for so long, and then the roar of the storm is him trying to remember them until they're gone. )
But I have them, and they're mine. I have to live in order to make the experience, and that makes them real. Without me, they wouldn't have happened... so they can't just be created, and given, and I'd accept them as mine. I'd have to actually live it to know they're mine. Why?

( his voice doesn't shake, doesn't tremble, but it's not bereft of emotion; if anything, with the deliberate and careful way he speaks his words, one could say it's laden with it. ) I didn't stick around to find out exactly what's replaced THEM, but it isn't going to be anything worth hearing aBOUT.
The memories that defined our relationship—his relationships with his friends and loved ones—are gone as easily as a sandcastle washed away by the SEA.

As a reSULT, you could say we have no relationship NOW. I don't think memories make a person; I think that's far more intrinSIC, but I do think that they're what make our BONDS. You can always reforge THOSE, but it isn't far more heartbreaking when one of you remembers what's real and the other doesN'T...?

That's why I want to stay with you because I know my memory... even if I forget the early days, I have what's now... and if I forget now... I hope you haven't hated me enough to move on, and I can still meet with you to make new ones. ...I try to make something of what I have. But... that's because I have a disease that eats away at my memories, I can't even remember my parents faces... or why they hated me.
( there's a soft laugh, humored by his own illness. for some reason, it's funny and entertaining at the same time. he's the words that natsume just spoke where the memories don't make a person, because komaeda's still the same despite his mind eating away parts of his life. )
It'll hurt, and his actions were selfish. To have so many memories to call my own, to remember people that I've made my bonds with... Akehoshi-kun was really lucky... he forgot you, and he forgot others... ( it even makes komaeda's christmas present nothing now, all that work he put in to recreate his father, to give him what he wanted most... the meaning behind it, he'd never understand.
