What is it that drives humans? Or, perhaps more aptly, non-demons? Mortals? Whatever you slot yourselves under, what makes you do the things you do?

Why do you unrelentingly get into strife with one another — incriminating murderers, only to turn around and commit a murder yourself moments later and being shocked when others despise you, rinse and repeat ad infinitum until everyone's hands have been bloodied? Is it vengeance? Survival?

In the end, why do you forgive the people who you spend hours condemning? Are they absolved of sin because you say they are? Are you simply tired of fighting?

Demons and mankind are quite similar. I believe we're all guilty of the same things — all of you are so far from Heaven's Gates that it's laughable, same as myself. The events of the last month have me thinking about all of that, and...

Those of you who think you're going to Heaven at the end of your life, assuming here is not your final destination: Why is that?

How much then...how do you quantify it? How much good, how much bad... it doesn't ever balance out. How much hurt you inflict versus the good you want to keep...I keep thinking about it.

I guess it would make sense a supreme power like that would expect pure good from people. I just want to sort out how I feel.

What if your good intentions allowed others to commit a terrible deed?

To be honest with you, I don't know how my father quantified it. But it was a high enough bar that my sister trying to save a dying man got her cast out of Heaven and killed, simply because she broke a single rule.

[Lucifer enforces the rules. Where it suits him, anyway. Good deeds being punished isn't something he'd ever dole out to his brothers; he tries to reward that behaviour. The opposite of his Father, he'd like to think.]

If your good deeds allowed others to commit terrible ones, that isn't your fault. It's about intent, is it not?

Say for example, I save your life, and you use that to take someone else's. It isn't my fault that you've made this choice.

You're not responsible for the choices others make.

[ There's a pause in the messages for a bit. There's a complicated thought here, about sisters punished for things they tried to do...but she's not sure how to word it, so its discarded. ]

But if you knew I was a danger, and you saved my life anyway? Or you had a suspicion I'd do harm...I couldn't say you were blameless then.

Nevermind, I'm talking strange. I'm usually a lot more chipper then this, Lucifer-sensei.

I suppose in that case, one couldn't be "blameless" but rather an enabler? It's tough to say. "Enabling" is responsibility in a sense, but I suppose... secondhand.

I know you're usually much more cheerful, yes, but you seem to be bothered by something.
