APRIL EVENT LOG/TDM
The opening ceremony starts at 8, with students and staff moving to the auditorium to sit with their homeroom class, calling characters out by name and dragging them over to their seat— physically if need be, and they're much stronger than they look. Much like the graduation ceremony, characters are not forced to come to the entrance ceremony, but the moment they take a seat, they find that they can neither speak nor get up again until the ceremony is over.
A teacher stands behind the podium on stage. Characters may recognize pieces of the speech from the previous year. He takes the time to welcome Yogen High's new students first, followed by acknowledging the transfer, returning, and repeat students. As he goes on, the teacher encourages students to instead focus on their own personal growth, and developing strong bonds that will allow them to reach their goals. He sighs as he explains that the Principal and Vice Principal are currently not available before he reminds students that violence is strictly prohibited and that there will be strict consequences for anyone who is caught engaging in misconduct.
The teacher concludes by noting that teachers will inform them of any important announcements. He wishes everybody a fulfilling school year, and reminds them that they have the power to shape the future. The ceremony concludes in a little under an hour, and the spell binding the students to their seats is broken, allowing everybody to rise and leave.
School lets out for the rest of the day with classes starting the next morning, and while many students take the opportunity to leave, some linger around the school.

Classes resume as usual, and it's the same old routine, with gossip and rumors spreading about, and students growing excited over new club advertisements, and fortune telling ads in addition to upcoming events. In an effort to encourage students to form lasting relationships, the school has set up events for the first week with plans for smaller events throughout the month. The PDA logs have been wiped clean with the start of the year, and all messages from before 04/05 are gone.
✽ Tuesday, 04/06 will be a simple Welcome Back. The day will be dedicated to giving important announcements, including the events for the rest of the week, introducing students to clubs, etc. There will be a potluck with various sweets and snack items, along with time dedicated to getting-to-know you style games and other such activities.
✽ Wednesday, 04/07 will feature the beginning of a Team Building Scavenger Hunt! There are no items to be found, but instead students are given a list of tasks to complete and turn into their homeroom teacher. Examples include introducing yourself to a new student, doing something nice for another student, being asked to identify a specific student who fits a certain criteria, anything that can be used to encourage interactions.
✽ Thursday, 04/08 will feature karaoke night in the music room. There is a karaoke machine set up along with a screen set up, along with some CDs with all the greatest hits of the 90ws. There is a decorative backdrop set up along with party decorations. There are inflatable music notes, cut out notes, microphones, record albums, and instruments taped along the wall, and a box full of props for students to use if they so choose.
✽ Friday, 04/09 will feature a game night held in class 1-B. Desks have been pushed together to form tables and covered in cloths, and various board and card games have been set out for students. There is a TV with an N64 and Playstation set out along with various games.
Outside of classes, the days wear on, and students come in with bruises and scraped knees and elbows and bloody noses. They smear blood on the walls and drip it onto the floor, splatter it onto the mirror without meaning to, bringing along with it a sense of vertigo. Characters looking in the mirror may find that they catch sight of something. It's there reflected in the mirror, a shadowy and dark figure in the edge of their vision, but it the moment they look away it disappears, leaving behind only a chill in the air. The mirror room is almost unbearably cold.

It's there reflected in the mirror, a shadowy and dark figure in the edge of their vision, but it the moment they look away it disappears, leaving behind only a chill in the air. The mirror room is almost unbearably cold.
Characters who look in mirrors will see the shadowy figure reflected in it growing closer to them. It's an odd sight to be sure, and the cold air it brings with clings to the skin, but even as they draw close they seem to do no harm. It's only once they're right behind a character that they'll begin to notice it - the cold that clings to them no matter how warm the room, the faint tingling of their skin, the sleepiness that settles in, and the whispers in their ear.
It's faint at first, barely noticeable if not for its persistence, but over time those whispers will grow louder; the coolness on their skin will turn into a cold that chills them down to the bone, and the unrested feeling becomes a constant fatigue and lethargy. The words and tone vary, as do the voices, but each and every one eats into the character. They might speak of a character's insecurities or guilt, or they might leave them with a sinking loneliness, or perhaps they promise the warmth and companionship that a character desires, or any other number of matters that so often tug at the mind.
The figures can be viewed through mirrors. Those with supernatural sight or an adderstone will similarly be able to see them following characters, latching onto them. Items that ward off the supernatural may help, but the only way to truly ward them off is with bonds formed in the school. The figures seem to be warded off by the presence of another person. The cold disappears with the slightest touch, the whispering stops during conversation, and for that time they're given a brief reprieve. But they often seem to come back the moment a person passes by a mirror once more.

✽ The school will be hosting various smaller team building exercise throughout the month which can range from exercises to group projects. There are examples here, so feel free to pick what works best for your goals.
✽ The shadowy figures will appear more frequently where there is blood, fresh or otherwise.
✽ Characters who are isolated will find that they are more susceptible to being followed by the figures, and it may take longer interactions to dispel them completely.
✽ Items from the student shop that ward off supernatural creatures will aide in keeping the shadows from getting too close at first, but their effectiveness will wear off the longer a character is followed. They seem to be most effective when used in conjunction with interactions with others, and especially others who have similar items (i.e. a character with a silver cross and a character with a gold chain.)

[ There's a girl hanging around the bulletin board along with the other students. It's nothing of interest, really, as they all gossip amongst each other and speak of the upcoming events and clubs - really, the only thing of interest about her is the hazel eyes and the way part of her hair is pulled back in a teal scrunchie - really, something barely noticeable amongst the crowd of students with black hair and brown eyes that fade in and out of one's attention without ever truly committing to memory.
She places her index finger just beneath her bottom lip as she examines the board, her head bobbing from left to right. ]
Whaaat... It's the same as last year...
[ There's a little huff. Then, as though just now realizing it: ]
Oh, wait... What happened to the vice principal...? Hey, hey, do you know~? Did she finally elope!? Ooh, I heard that her and the principal were secretly a thing, you know...!?
[ Who is she asking? Maybe the person next to her. Maybe you. Who knows. Either way, she seems pretty excited about that idea. ]
b. throughout the school (remainder of the month)
[ The girl from the opening ceremony can be found wandering throughout the school for the rest of the month. She seems to be in room 1-D, in the Computer Science class, and the workshop after class. She rests her hand in her palm during classes and doodles during boring lectures, spaces out, and tends to wander while looking at pages of something or another as she passes out through doors and throughout the hallway mumbling to herself about this and that - it wouldn't be wrong to assume she's the spacey type of person who wastes their intellect due to focusing on their attention on other things.
In particular, she seems to have a knack for programming and engineering, and can frequently be found complaining about the "ancient technology" present int the school while in the workshop.
More importantly, if she has the chance, she'll gossip to you about other students, romance, who's seeing who, and other such affairs. Please come to her with all your gossip, and for your gossip needs. ]

@nagito komaeda, 04/07
Except that's not what happens today. Maybe it's because she's been so focused on the start of the year, attempting to get to know the new students and transfers and thanking Shin, but she didn't even notice him there - no, she doesn't notice Komaeda at all until her dipped head hits against his chest and she scrambles back. Her face flushes as she looks up and sees who it is, her gaze darting to the side, her grip on the paper containing various upcoming events tightening.
That should be enough humiliation for one day, except there goes the strap of her bag - it clatters to the floor, and various pens and pencils and other utensils scatter about the floor loudly. If that weren't enough, the way that the desk she knocks into tips over and somehow tips into another and makes a complete mess of the classroom will be. It's tipped desk and utensils and leftover notebooks and desks and chairs, and it's so noisy that she's certain the entire school hear tit.
...
Ahhh, she wants to die... But no! She has to play it cool, so, best to pretend that none of that happened, despite her red face and inability to keep eye contact...! ]
...... K-Komaeda-san! I-I.. I didn't see you there...!

( unfortunately for her, komaeda doesn't pay too much mind to those who go bobbing and weaving to stay out the way that lacks talent. if she hadn't bumped into him, she could have avoided him even longer, because he doesn't think to search for the girl who returned after a job well done— and well done is an understatement, perhaps it was all overcooked? ashes, rather. using rio ranger's cremation coffin happened to be a big hit, with big brained plans, and moves that allowed a few students a second chance.
so for now, she's unfamiliar to him given she's one of shin's students, and with her bumping into him gives some sort of pause in trying to understand how said cosmic reaction, but it's one thing, after another as her items fall to the ground, there comes flipped desks, papers flying everywhere, and from all the shaking once everything clatters on the floor; the lights tremble, then flicker almost nervous of what's to happen next.
but her request is heard, her plea of wanting to die, because it's that moment where a long, glass lightbulb above them shatters, popping the shards down where they stand; dulling the room in a beautiful darkness. it was a feeling that komaeda knew was coming, considering someone generic being near him only ramps up trouble, but he's quick to grab the lower end of his jacket, pulling it up and over her to obscure her body from being impaled by any shards of glass.
it's like rain sparkling in the night as he closes his eyes to avoid any of the smaller pieces from getting anything in there, but compsci-chan can feel pieces drizzle against the top of her covered head by komaeda's jacket as they bounce off, and hit against the ground. )

The downpour eventually stops, and she dares to raise her eyes once more, wearing the panicked look of a person realizing what a grave error they'd made. ]
I-I'm sorry... I didn't mean to...
[ Trouble him further? Cause this entire thing by stupidly running into him? Continue to stand there stupidly despite all of that?
...
She kind of looks like she's going to cry. ]

( the lights above them from around the one that broke now flickers above them, and it's fine since the janitor will clean it all up anyway, and so when he pulls away, takes a step back and the glass cracks under him, he responds. )
Ahaha... you're silly. People like you are always in danger around me.
( that's how his luck works, those without a strong amount of hope or talent is normally the victim of his own, and there's nothing he can do to stop it if it's out of his hands. as he drops his arm down, he's slowly as he does so, and she'll see that jabbed into his arm that held up the jacket for safety is a shard of glass, and red pooling around the injury. it's a fairly large one, deep and wide enough that if he pulls it out that it'll splatter, and send them both to the void if he's not careful. )
There's no need to apologize, but... um... you're not hurt, are you?
( unlike him who suffers a burning sensation every time his limb moves, the thick smell of blood that wafts under his nose that makes it wrinkle just a bit like he's sniffed something disgusting. that's not it, though, it's because he is used to it— he's like a bloodhound, and so he's comfortable with the sight and smell, but she doesn't have to know about the weirder side of him as he continues to wonder about her instead. )

@midori, 04/15
But that's not important. What is important is that the door to the nurse's office is creaking open, and she's sticking her head in and glancing around nervously before cautiously stepping in cautiously and closing the door behind her. Is he even here...? Maybe she this was a bad idea. Maybe she should leave. ]
no subject
Good evening.
[ manners come fist, his hospitality showing as he greets the female that managed to worm her way inside, but he's not disappointed in the slightest. there are those who are drawn to an area if it's uninhabited, but by the way she had been looking around... he does expect that she must have been looking for him. ]
You're not down with a fever, are you?
[ that said he lifts a hand, the back of it resting against her forehead ti temperature check. ]
no subject
She folds her hands politely in front of her, squaring her shoulders, closing herself off. ]
Good evening...
[ She trains her eyes on him, though her chin dips as he places a hand on her forehead, lifting up the bangs that had fallen in her eyes. His hand feels cool, or maybe it's just that her face feels hot. ]
Did the nurse leave for the day?
[ It's a reasonable question. There are those who help her in the evening sometimes. ]
no subject
[ they're sweet words, something akin to pop rocks that supposed to stand out due to both his profession and who he is— stick to the recess of her mind, always known and aware with its fizzy, and tingling sensation that comes from the confection exploding one after the other. such actions can be electrifying, and midori does so with finesse to ensure that she remembers him; even if it calls for a bit of hands-on experience. ]
With that said, I'll be your nurse. My name is Sou Hiyori.
[ a name that isn't even his name, but one he must hold onto until he's able to rid himself of it once more. the younger sou would have sat in a chair, spinning around until he faced his patient properly, and greeted them with a bubbly personality, but as for midori being older, he's not as cute as his younger self. hence why he wasn't in the office to meet her as soon as she came in. ]
How may I help you?
[ his hand lifts, pulling up her bangs just a bit so he can see her face. ]

...
...
It doesn't work, and she's glaring daggers at the TV as the character falls into the void once more and the unpleasant sound of death rings throughout the room once more.
Help her out? ]
no subject
... But the girl doesn't seem to be having much fun, and games should be fun, too. So Nanami wanders over towards the TV as the girl fails the jump again, and squats just a little behind her as the character plummets into oblivion. ]
Did you try jumping off the wall on the left side? [ It's not... too difficult of a technique if you take that alternate route. She thinks? She's played this game a lot though, so she might be wrong about that. ]
no subject
[ She does seem to perk up a little at the suggestion, though the way her cheeks puff up and the stern look she gives the screen does suggest that she's still unhappy with it. It's a look that tells the game that it had better cooperate this time. Unfortunately, the video game is a video game and does not listen or care about her demands.
She looks back down at he controller, then up to the screen, and she has it! She's played this game, so she knows how to do that...!
Well, almost, anyway. She fumbles at the last second, and just barely misses getting to the other side. There's the sound of death again, and she stares for a few seconds before holding the controller up and flopping back onto the floor with a noisy grumble. ]
Ahhh...! This game is impossible!
[ She's swinging her arms up and down with the controller in hand as she complains in a display that can only be called childish, but maybe she's earned that after spending the first week being harassed, told who's dead and not coming back, and more. Anyway, at least she didn't throw it at the TV. ]
no subject
[ She scooches up to sit a little closer to the other gamer, a bit closer to the screen. ]
You almost had it, that was just bad luck... that happens to me all the time too. [ Not-- well, not all the time, but it happened to her a lot when she was first learning the game. ]
I'll bet you'd get it if you tried again! Or I can get past it for you if you want!
@shin, 04/06
Those feelings, and the relief, the tears, the incomprehensible feelings, a complicated set of emotions that she can't assign words to even now. There's a part of her that hadn't wanted to repeat this elective, not after the shame that she'd shown back then. After all, she's not as stupid girl by any means, but her thoughts are always elsewhere. They're always on questions she can't answer, always on things that others say don't matter, always on this and that...
Always on things that won't save her life, always on things that force others to save her. Such as it is that she's in the same classes before, standing before the teacher's desk and holding the handle of bag with both hands. Her head dips, back arching in a bit of a bow, because she can't look directly at Shin after what he'd done for her. It was more than anyone should have, more than any of them really should have, and to acknowledge it now is humiliating. But to ignore it would be even worse, and so... ]
Hiyori-sensei...! Do you have a minute?
[ She stammers, anxious and wondering if he might not deny her request. They've already caused him so much trouble, after all. ]
no subject
It's how the world should have worked.]
Hm?
[It takes a split-second, looking up from where he's packing up for the day, but there's that spark of recognition in his eyes. That's right, it's safe for them now, with a new year starting. After everything that's happened recently, it's kind of a relief to see that as far as he can tell nothing dangerous happened while they were 'away'.]
Ahaha, welcome back! Yeah, I've got time.
[He's paused in his paper-shuffling, directing his attention her way with the corner of his eye... he's listening.]
What can I help with?
[He's half expecting this to be about all the classes she's missed... he can make a copy of the notes... Or rather, he's kind of hoping this is just the case, that this is what she's so nervous about.]
no subject
[ She fidgets a little, wringing her hands in front of her as she considers the right words. It's been months, but how does one go about thanking a person for saving their life? It's easy for others to wave them here as something that will return - they might come back eventually, but there's no guarantee, and even if there were it wouldn't make the death any less painful.
Also, there's something a little scary about it. What if she's not supposed to say anything, and she winds up getting him in trouble for bringing it up? Or maybe something had already happened, and he'd started to regret it, or... Well, there's plenty of reasons that it might end badly. But he's been a kind teacher, and so she finds that last one to be unlikely. ]
Um, it's about December... I didn't have the chance to thank you, so...
[ She clasps her hands in front of her tightly, leaning forward in a very slight bow, her chin tilting back so she can look up at him. ]
Thank you for what you did. That was really cool... Well, actually, you were really cool! I didn't know you could trick them like that.
[ Her voice is quiet and a little fragile, but earnest, and he words brighten toward the end. ]
(no subject)
A
I heard she died.
[There's no hesitation in that answer.]
But, you know. Romantic eloping would be the fun option. Where do you think they honeymooned, Tahiti?
no subject
[ Although it does seem like something they'd do... Still, the sameself transfer student who had killed Okane had so gone out of his way so save her, along with her one of her teachers - one who could have turned a blind eye to the entire bloody affair. It's been difficult to hate them since then.
She's still huffing at this one. Actually, she's glaring at him defiantly, as though he had dared to imply that she was not only wrong about this, but about all of them. ]
I bet they're in Tokyo right now, enjoying the cherry blossoms...!
[ There's an unlike you tone to those words. ]
no subject
[Kokichi glances over his nails.]
And yeah, sure. That'd sure be nice. Those things make me sneeze. Almost as bad as those shitty bonzai trees rich people own to prove status.
Why're you so upset? Is it because you wanna get married and see trees, too? Dream loftier, Bride-chan.

I know, right? All the old, dated tech makes it such a pain to actually learn how to do proper engineering, if I'm going to be honest.

[ Granted, the computers run, but the piles of scrap are just junk. They should be able to afford more than that, right? Given that by now they've installed all sorts of weird equipment in the place, including what looks like a surgical table, she's pretty sure that they can afford a better computer. ]
I can write scripts just fine, but it's like I'm trying to run them on a toaster... Our talent is being wasted in this place!
[ The true crime being committed here, really. ]
no subject
[She groans in annoyance before sighing heavily.]
I do agree that our talent is absolutely being wasted, though. Who's the stupid idiot who arbitrarily decided that we needed to be in the 90s, anyway? Well - technically 2000 now, but you get my point. You can't even learn the latest tricks and skills of modern day coding when you're stuck in a rustbucket. If the point of the school is to 'hone our skills to move on' and all that nonsense, they're doing a rather poor job at it.
a
Ah! Y-you... you haven't heard?
[He has trouble meeting her in the eyes while being the bearer of bad news.]
I am afraid that... she is no longer with us...
no subject
[ She had almost asked heard what, and she's grateful to him for clarifying before she could. It takes a few seconds, and then her face falls all at once. The girl looks away, suddenly embarrassed by her gossip. ]
N-no, I've been out for awhile, so I didn't realize... [ She trails off, shaking her head before looking back to Ishimaru. ] Sorry, I didn't meant to be insensitive.
no subject
That is alright. You did not know. If I myself was unaware, I know that I would prefer to assume such an optimistic, if scandalous, possibility than jump to the unfortunate possibility that turned out to be the truth.
[He's not sure how much he's comfortable saying about what happens, but he goes on a little bit more.]
It happened just a few months ago... in the middle of January. You must have been absent for quite some time.
