APRIL EVENT LOG/TDM
The opening ceremony starts at 8, with students and staff moving to the auditorium to sit with their homeroom class, calling characters out by name and dragging them over to their seat— physically if need be, and they're much stronger than they look. Much like the graduation ceremony, characters are not forced to come to the entrance ceremony, but the moment they take a seat, they find that they can neither speak nor get up again until the ceremony is over.
A teacher stands behind the podium on stage. Characters may recognize pieces of the speech from the previous year. He takes the time to welcome Yogen High's new students first, followed by acknowledging the transfer, returning, and repeat students. As he goes on, the teacher encourages students to instead focus on their own personal growth, and developing strong bonds that will allow them to reach their goals. He sighs as he explains that the Principal and Vice Principal are currently not available before he reminds students that violence is strictly prohibited and that there will be strict consequences for anyone who is caught engaging in misconduct.
The teacher concludes by noting that teachers will inform them of any important announcements. He wishes everybody a fulfilling school year, and reminds them that they have the power to shape the future. The ceremony concludes in a little under an hour, and the spell binding the students to their seats is broken, allowing everybody to rise and leave.
School lets out for the rest of the day with classes starting the next morning, and while many students take the opportunity to leave, some linger around the school.

Classes resume as usual, and it's the same old routine, with gossip and rumors spreading about, and students growing excited over new club advertisements, and fortune telling ads in addition to upcoming events. In an effort to encourage students to form lasting relationships, the school has set up events for the first week with plans for smaller events throughout the month. The PDA logs have been wiped clean with the start of the year, and all messages from before 04/05 are gone.
✽ Tuesday, 04/06 will be a simple Welcome Back. The day will be dedicated to giving important announcements, including the events for the rest of the week, introducing students to clubs, etc. There will be a potluck with various sweets and snack items, along with time dedicated to getting-to-know you style games and other such activities.
✽ Wednesday, 04/07 will feature the beginning of a Team Building Scavenger Hunt! There are no items to be found, but instead students are given a list of tasks to complete and turn into their homeroom teacher. Examples include introducing yourself to a new student, doing something nice for another student, being asked to identify a specific student who fits a certain criteria, anything that can be used to encourage interactions.
✽ Thursday, 04/08 will feature karaoke night in the music room. There is a karaoke machine set up along with a screen set up, along with some CDs with all the greatest hits of the 90ws. There is a decorative backdrop set up along with party decorations. There are inflatable music notes, cut out notes, microphones, record albums, and instruments taped along the wall, and a box full of props for students to use if they so choose.
✽ Friday, 04/09 will feature a game night held in class 1-B. Desks have been pushed together to form tables and covered in cloths, and various board and card games have been set out for students. There is a TV with an N64 and Playstation set out along with various games.
Outside of classes, the days wear on, and students come in with bruises and scraped knees and elbows and bloody noses. They smear blood on the walls and drip it onto the floor, splatter it onto the mirror without meaning to, bringing along with it a sense of vertigo. Characters looking in the mirror may find that they catch sight of something. It's there reflected in the mirror, a shadowy and dark figure in the edge of their vision, but it the moment they look away it disappears, leaving behind only a chill in the air. The mirror room is almost unbearably cold.

It's there reflected in the mirror, a shadowy and dark figure in the edge of their vision, but it the moment they look away it disappears, leaving behind only a chill in the air. The mirror room is almost unbearably cold.
Characters who look in mirrors will see the shadowy figure reflected in it growing closer to them. It's an odd sight to be sure, and the cold air it brings with clings to the skin, but even as they draw close they seem to do no harm. It's only once they're right behind a character that they'll begin to notice it - the cold that clings to them no matter how warm the room, the faint tingling of their skin, the sleepiness that settles in, and the whispers in their ear.
It's faint at first, barely noticeable if not for its persistence, but over time those whispers will grow louder; the coolness on their skin will turn into a cold that chills them down to the bone, and the unrested feeling becomes a constant fatigue and lethargy. The words and tone vary, as do the voices, but each and every one eats into the character. They might speak of a character's insecurities or guilt, or they might leave them with a sinking loneliness, or perhaps they promise the warmth and companionship that a character desires, or any other number of matters that so often tug at the mind.
The figures can be viewed through mirrors. Those with supernatural sight or an adderstone will similarly be able to see them following characters, latching onto them. Items that ward off the supernatural may help, but the only way to truly ward them off is with bonds formed in the school. The figures seem to be warded off by the presence of another person. The cold disappears with the slightest touch, the whispering stops during conversation, and for that time they're given a brief reprieve. But they often seem to come back the moment a person passes by a mirror once more.

✽ The school will be hosting various smaller team building exercise throughout the month which can range from exercises to group projects. There are examples here, so feel free to pick what works best for your goals.
✽ The shadowy figures will appear more frequently where there is blood, fresh or otherwise.
✽ Characters who are isolated will find that they are more susceptible to being followed by the figures, and it may take longer interactions to dispel them completely.
✽ Items from the student shop that ward off supernatural creatures will aide in keeping the shadows from getting too close at first, but their effectiveness will wear off the longer a character is followed. They seem to be most effective when used in conjunction with interactions with others, and especially others who have similar items (i.e. a character with a silver cross and a character with a gold chain.)

Alice's grip on his pen and the clipboard squeezes even tighter (fortunately, this pen isn't on the verge of snapping in half yet). He won't lose! Not to Midori! Even as his cheeks feel too warm, and he forces himself to take a breath to remain calm before speaking, he resolves to prove that he isn't scary at all.
This is similar to forming pairs for those Death Game Attractions... ]
Such impressive knowledge! I shall write it down... [ And he does! The tip of his pen moves across the page for both the girl and Midori to behold, printing each line neatly. ] Do you wish to continue the conversation? Perhaps introductions are in order first...?
no subject
That's rather formal! We're partners, so we're already aware of one another. You a student, and me, the school nurse!
[ excitement is littered in his voice, all over his tone that shows how genuine his feelings are in taking part. he doesn't like alice for what he did, and that's one of his most inner struggles that he's unable to find himself to accept. each and every reaction that appears from the other's grip tightening over the pen and clipboard, or the fact that he has to act pleasant... it's never enough.
that frustration he feels bubbles up, but not visible on his face, or in his voice, because his body always remains relaxed— being human and exposing himself is not a problem he suffers anymore.
"i'm monya! a first year of yogen high!" and monya is definitely good when it comes to glassmaking, midori relents himself as he looks to alice. ]
Sou Hiyori! ☆ Alice already exposed who I was... ~
no subject
Midori's feigned excitement is grating — it's as if he possesses the ability to sparkle with it — but it seems to be helping Monya relax more and more. Alice attempts a convincing smile in turn, nothing excessive. ]
A first year? So you're a new student, and you're meeting the school's substitute school nurse for the first time...
[ Are Midori and Shin Tsukimi both going by "Sou Hiyori" here now? What a confusing situation, especially if Monya's schedule includes computer science classes... Besides, though it's still none of his business, Alice stands by what he said — "Shin Tsukimi" is an enviable name, and the need to discard it is truly unfortunate. ]
I'm a second-year student, somehow, even though I'm clearly an adult. [ Alice points at himself as he speaks. ] Alice Yabusame...
[ What comes next? Shifting the pen in his hand, he glances down at his sheet of paper. ]
I... suppose we're expected to go through each of our lists? Whose turn is it?
no subject
as for the substitute nurse, he glances down at the papers, and to see his name written alongside alice's is vile. he doesn't like it! yet, he can force himself to accept it, or maybe it's because he's standing next to him that he just can't stomach the thought those his stomach is actually gone. that's it, because the name means nothing for him when someone else wears it dapper, much like a black bow against a sleak suit— a red scarf curled around a thin neck, and the weight immense with how long shin carried it around.
a shame he changed colors... ]
Are we taking her with us? You only need two, but three wouldn't hurt...
[ monya turns her paper around, looking at them with an expectant gaze that begs to see their papers.
she wants to see!
he turns his paper around, allowing her to see how much he's done. he finished about two, but that's unlike midori, when everything his paper asks for is placed within one classroom, that's lucky. she turns to alice, even more curious.
what does his paper look like? ]
no subject
What isn't fair at all is that their lists appear to be straightforward, so why is Alice's a strange hard mode collection of demands, for some unfathomable reason?! ]
Well, three is a good number... Of course, we won't force you to accompany us, Monya.
[ Nor is he stalling! The girl has nearly earned her freedom, over halfway there, and roping her into assisting them isn't right. Alice takes another moment to brush imaginary dust from his paper, and yet another to position his pen out of the way. And then, finally, he turns the clipboard around, holding it lower for Monya to see the page comfortably.
Aside from the glassmaking facts, Alice's paper is full of blank spaces. In his defense, his list is absurdly taxing, combining relatively simple things like discovering unexpected information with various commands directing him to carry out certain tasks! How many people is he supposed to find to complete every single thing, if they won't accept using the same people over and over?!
For example, next up are instructions for him to compliment others sincerely — a total of five times... ]
no subject
[ the one that says compliment others sincerely, and midori makes it well known as he reaches out to tap it once, then twice as monya holds onto the paper shown to her. compliments are nice, because monya is shaking her head up and down. she seems to take it when things aren't too scary, and works well in groups because one on one is expecting too much from her, but when a third party takes over the conversation then she can fade into the background without anyone concerned for her.
that's why she likes three as a good number. "yes! it really is a good number." she agrees when finally letting go of alice's paper. his tasks are a little more rigorous than her and midori's, but she giggles lightly before pointing into another room. the one that says something about playing "one man hide and seek," another incomprehensible game on alice's list.
they can do that second. ]
Now! Say something niiiiiiice, about us both! Hehehe ☆
[ expectant himself, he bats his eyelashes at alice as he waits.
as for monya, she raises her hand with a shake of her head. she'd rather not have alice go that far for her. ]
Then I'll take two ~
no subject
It would have been easy enough to think of something for Monya, but since she's declined, he really has a challenge to overcome... Thank goodness it's only two compliments, not five. Scrutinizing Midori, whose eyes manage to be unnerving in new ways while he's batting his eyelashes, Alice thinks and thinks until the silence is definitely suspicious.
At last, with another deep breath, he offers the first compliment: ]
You're... thorough.
[ That much can't be denied, even if the trait has the potential to be worthy of admiration or cause for concern, and what Midori did with it was absolutely nothing good. All those papers, the photos of Reko, the contracts... Everything that he arranged to twist the truth, effortlessly wielding his poisonous influence.
Well, it's unwise to follow this particular train of thought any further right now, and that makes one compliment, as sincere as possible. Now for the second— ]
And... you can eat as much dessert as you want every day, without any problems. Good for you.
[ Could that be another reason why Midori modified his body? He'll never need to worry that his sweet tooth would affect his health over time, and it's probably impossible for him to suffer any short-term consequences of indulging in that many treats, so Maple must be happy to spend time with him as if they're constantly on a cafe date, given how pleased she seemed about doing so with both Midori and Add... ]
no subject
[ well, those aren't the most amazing observations, but considering they have need to pull three more so that he can finish his task, his eyes look to monya. she shakes her head again as if she knows what's coming next, and with her rejection, midori turns his eyes back to face alice.
there's a small giggle from monya as she points at her own list, and there's something about getting an item from a class across from them, and she'll meet back up with the two once she gets it. with a thumbs up at them both, she turns to the side to walk inside of a classroom with various students standing on tables to try and check the crawlspaces above them. there must be something up there, and luckily for them neither him or midori have to do it. ]
You need to do three more, then I'll help you with your next problem.
[ the "one man hide and seek" is a game that midori himself is familiar with, having played it before, and he doubts that alice has any idea how it goes. most of these requests on their papers can only be done as long as they have another person, and so he's guessing that knowledge wise that the other is lacking. ]
Isn't that so kind of me! ☆
no subject
On the bright side, yes, there's no risk of getting trapped in the crawlspaces together... Sara Chidouin was one thing — he did tell her that his broad frame could never have fit through the air vent in his cell, either — but Midori would surely turn it into something to mock! Nothing about his intentions could ever be kind!
Three more compliments it is. Midori being their subject is an obstacle, but a creative mind should make it through this!
Alice resumes eyeing Midori in contemplation, glancing him over from head to toe — twice. Naturally, it's to make sure that he's thorough himself, and can't be disqualified in any way! ]
...Your outfit looks well ironed. Without your scarf, you would also be quite symmetrical. Lastly, you... keep your nails neatly groomed.
[ He counts off each observation on his free hand's fingers. ]
no subject
[ why is alice so boring?
that was nothing about him! clothes are different from how charming he is, and even his nail... of course he keeps up a clean appearance when he can't expect anything less from him. these are facts, undeniable truths that no one wishes to hear.
...
he will fix this. ]
You mentioned clothes which doesn't count. You've failed your assignment already.
[ there's a shake of his head as he taps the paper in alice's hand, and if alice doesn't hold onto it, it's almost as if midori is trying to leave nail marks into the surface since it's so thin and fragile. ]
Another.
[ he's not satisfied, and if alice is going to mark off his one request then he's going to mark it once he's done it right. ] You have to start alllllllll over again! ☆
no subject
I don't compliment just anyone's fashion, you know! Clothes absolutely count! I'll even give you eighty points...
[ Granted, acknowledging Midori's reasonably tidy appearance isn't really praising his fashion sense, but the scarf and his hairstyle are too much! Can't he cut his hair or grow it long to wear it in a proper ponytail or a braid? ]
Besides, we don't know each other well. [ Outside of murder cases and death game scheming... ] How can you expect me to list so many things about a mere acquaintance?!
no subject
[ he'll take his eighty points, and acknowledge that alice's eyesight has gotten worse, and so the leftover points will also be taken to net him a whole 100! with those values corrected, he's able to focus on the other a little more while lifting his own sheet to himself to read off what's been requested of him. fetch quests, rhetorical questions, and even gratuitous compliments that even he doesn't want to give. ]
Oh! Alice, let's play the game on your list.
[ the one he noticed earlier since that one would be fun. ] You can gain lots of compliments off that one! Have you ever played before...?
no subject
This suspicious eagerness to play "one man hide and seek" might explain why Midori has changed his mind, but the game doesn't ring any bells whatsoever. ]
This...?
[ Alice smooths his paper flat to tap a fingertip against the line referring to the game in question. Unwilling to admit that Midori has the upper hand, he hesitates, frowning at the page. ]
Are you offering a demonstration?
no subject
[ a demonstration with himself during this game? no way. he already knows what comes of it, and most people say that the spirit still attaches to the victim even after killing them. he doesn't want to be part of that with how their souls work in this place, it just sounds like a bad time all around. yet, alice doesn't seem to know that, and this means it works to midori's advantage as he watches alice with a smile. ]
We have to find a doll first.
[ clasping his hands together, he'll allow alice to suggest what sort of doll it'll be, but if not, midori already has a plan for that. ]
no subject
[ Every new piece of information is increasingly dubious! Alice narrows his eyes, but attempting to connect the dots goes nowhere. Compliments, Midori's all too willing assistance, a doll. What does any of it have to do with hide and seek?! The parts placed together don't form a whole picture that makes sense!
Yet Midori keeps smiling at him... Where would they even obtain a doll?
Eventually, taking a packet of tissues out of his pocket, Alice points at Midori's hair — specifically, the longer section. ]
Have you a spare hairtie to lend me?
