APRIL EVENT LOG/TDM
The opening ceremony starts at 8, with students and staff moving to the auditorium to sit with their homeroom class, calling characters out by name and dragging them over to their seat— physically if need be, and they're much stronger than they look. Much like the graduation ceremony, characters are not forced to come to the entrance ceremony, but the moment they take a seat, they find that they can neither speak nor get up again until the ceremony is over.
A teacher stands behind the podium on stage. Characters may recognize pieces of the speech from the previous year. He takes the time to welcome Yogen High's new students first, followed by acknowledging the transfer, returning, and repeat students. As he goes on, the teacher encourages students to instead focus on their own personal growth, and developing strong bonds that will allow them to reach their goals. He sighs as he explains that the Principal and Vice Principal are currently not available before he reminds students that violence is strictly prohibited and that there will be strict consequences for anyone who is caught engaging in misconduct.
The teacher concludes by noting that teachers will inform them of any important announcements. He wishes everybody a fulfilling school year, and reminds them that they have the power to shape the future. The ceremony concludes in a little under an hour, and the spell binding the students to their seats is broken, allowing everybody to rise and leave.
School lets out for the rest of the day with classes starting the next morning, and while many students take the opportunity to leave, some linger around the school.

Classes resume as usual, and it's the same old routine, with gossip and rumors spreading about, and students growing excited over new club advertisements, and fortune telling ads in addition to upcoming events. In an effort to encourage students to form lasting relationships, the school has set up events for the first week with plans for smaller events throughout the month. The PDA logs have been wiped clean with the start of the year, and all messages from before 04/05 are gone.
✽ Tuesday, 04/06 will be a simple Welcome Back. The day will be dedicated to giving important announcements, including the events for the rest of the week, introducing students to clubs, etc. There will be a potluck with various sweets and snack items, along with time dedicated to getting-to-know you style games and other such activities.
✽ Wednesday, 04/07 will feature the beginning of a Team Building Scavenger Hunt! There are no items to be found, but instead students are given a list of tasks to complete and turn into their homeroom teacher. Examples include introducing yourself to a new student, doing something nice for another student, being asked to identify a specific student who fits a certain criteria, anything that can be used to encourage interactions.
✽ Thursday, 04/08 will feature karaoke night in the music room. There is a karaoke machine set up along with a screen set up, along with some CDs with all the greatest hits of the 90ws. There is a decorative backdrop set up along with party decorations. There are inflatable music notes, cut out notes, microphones, record albums, and instruments taped along the wall, and a box full of props for students to use if they so choose.
✽ Friday, 04/09 will feature a game night held in class 1-B. Desks have been pushed together to form tables and covered in cloths, and various board and card games have been set out for students. There is a TV with an N64 and Playstation set out along with various games.
Outside of classes, the days wear on, and students come in with bruises and scraped knees and elbows and bloody noses. They smear blood on the walls and drip it onto the floor, splatter it onto the mirror without meaning to, bringing along with it a sense of vertigo. Characters looking in the mirror may find that they catch sight of something. It's there reflected in the mirror, a shadowy and dark figure in the edge of their vision, but it the moment they look away it disappears, leaving behind only a chill in the air. The mirror room is almost unbearably cold.

The mirror room is almost unbearably cold.
Characters who look in mirrors will see the shadowy figure reflected in it growing closer to them. It's an odd sight to be sure, and the cold air it brings with clings to the skin, but even as they draw close they seem to do no harm. It's only once they're right behind a character that they'll begin to notice it - the cold that clings to them no matter how warm the room, the faint tingling of their skin, the sleepiness that settles in, and the whispers in their ear.
It's faint at first, barely noticeable if not for its persistence, but over time those whispers will grow louder; the coolness on their skin will turn into a cold that chills them down to the bone, and the unrested feeling becomes a constant fatigue and lethargy. The words and tone vary, as do the voices, but each and every one eats into the character. They might speak of a character's insecurities or guilt, or they might leave them with a sinking loneliness, or perhaps they promise the warmth and companionship that a character desires, or any other number of matters that so often tug at the mind.
The figures can be viewed through mirrors. Those with supernatural sight or an adderstone will similarly be able to see them following characters, latching onto them. Items that ward off the supernatural may help, but the only way to truly ward them off is with bonds formed in the school. The figures seem to be warded off by the presence of another person. The cold disappears with the slightest touch, the whispering stops during conversation, and for that time they're given a brief reprieve. But they often seem to come back the moment a person passes by a mirror once more.

✽ The school will be hosting various smaller team building exercise throughout the month which can range from exercises to group projects. There are examples here, so feel free to pick what works best for your goals.
✽ The shadowy figures will appear more frequently where there is blood, fresh or otherwise.
✽ Characters who are isolated will find that they are more susceptible to being followed by the figures, and it may take longer interactions to dispel them completely.
✽ Items from the student shop that ward off supernatural creatures will aide in keeping the shadows from getting too close at first, but their effectiveness will wear off the longer a character is followed. They seem to be most effective when used in conjunction with interactions with others, and especially others who have similar items (i.e. a character with a silver cross and a character with a gold chain.)

Checking his garments for any hiding beetles as he shakes drying mud from the fabric, Alice laughs with a giddy sort of breathlessness to the sound. He's managed to get his fingers reasonably clean, though it would help if they had water and a handkerchief with them. Unless it's like a face mask, Komaeda probably isn't enjoying sitting there with dirt coating his skin...
But if they can drive back, they'll reach the school in no time! ]
I see... I haven't driven anywhere in a long time, but I'll do it carefully. To the school, right? Keigo Arata's truck and today's passenger shall be delivered safe and sound!
[ Keys in hand, Alice finds the ignition, but he pauses to brush clusters of cobwebs out of the way around the steering wheel, grimacing at the sticky sensation on his fingers. ]

( home... the simulation in a way if he can call that home, it's the most recent memories he has compared to his life prior. komaeda leans forward, crossing his arms along the dash as he lays his head against the warm the surface to absorb what heat is there. he does appreciate the effort alice puts into this though, smiling to himself as he looks back on the past of where he even acquired this. )
There was planes, and other trucks... A tank... But this was best suited to carry each and every bomb.
( he pushes himself back up to lean against the seat, and his head manages to turn towards alice to move on from his conversation. ) I thought it'd be a nice gift for Chidouin-san.

[ Alice's hands hover in mid-air, one poised above the steering wheel, the other on the keys inserted into place. Eyes wide, he gapes at Komaeda, who certainly seems happy to make himself comfortable in the vehicle. What a mysterious fellow, full of surprises... Was he a soldier in his world? No one would expect it, looking at him, yet he's mentioning bombs and tanks as if they're mundane things...
Then there was a real war? Komaeda doesn't seem to find the subject distressing, at least. ]
Sara Chidouin isn't old enough to drive it, is she? Though I suppose there's no one to enforce the rules here, and she'll be of age eventually... Is that why you've kept it hidden?

( sort of, no one's name was on it when he took it. at the time, it became his of a mission that he had going on because when he sits inside of it he's able to remember his feelings. the complete fear and stress, his heart racing with the need to defuse the problem that had been shown to him. the despair, the sickness, ah... to get rid of it all, to redeem himself that in a way he can be loved by everyone and everything. he could become god that everyone loves and counts on, for once, he could do something right in the world. )
I thought something nice would do Chidouin-san good... Ah, if that's the case should I wait until she's of age?
( when he was seventeen is when he drove this vehicle, and she must be around the same age, or maybe a bit older. he's never asked about that, but if alice shows his concerns then komaeda will hear him out. )
I wouldn't know what other gift to offer, she really wanted to drive when we were in Ito-kun's mind...

No, it's a good idea.
[ Now, with a smile for Komaeda's thoughtful gesture, Alice wraps his fingers around one side of the steering wheel, and starts the engine. The truck rumbles to life. ]
It suits her, and teaching her how to drive could become part of the gift! No doubt she'll find it exciting to have you as her instructor, acquiring the skill in a vehicle such as this.
[ Truly a rare experience! And no matter how unusual a teenager Sara Chidouin is, she might find it nice to be treated like a daughter or a younger sister simply engaging in ordinary activities with a father or older brother figure. ]

( that's not bad at all, but it's not too good either knowing that she'll get herself in trouble because she's too worried about someone else and not herself. that's how she gets herself hurt, and he wouldn't want her to daydream of someone else then wind up crashing into a tree. )
The trees here are thick... you should come back with me so that we can cut them down.
( allow a path for the car to traverse easier, but if alice manages to get through without any problems maybe that's just an idea for next time when the place is too overgrown with trees? )

[ He happens to be a model driver, despite the extended break from going anywhere that prison forced on him — he intends to make good on his promise of transporting Komaeda and the truck to the school without further incident, at any rate. To achieve that, he should concentrate on the densely tree-filled path, and avoid any collisions... And they need a route that doesn't take them back through the swamp!
Komaeda is right — if there weren't so many trees in the way with their sturdy trunks, they would have a smoother journey. As it is, Alice slows down every so often, in search of enough room to maneuver the truck past obstacles. ]

( but this isn't that type of story, and so they have to accept the hardships that come with progressing past this area. with a sigh, he leans forward, looking around though his body is freezing from the wet substance of the quagmire from before still attached to his skim.
he wants a bath as soon as they get back. )
In any case, in order to help Chidouin-san learn to drive, we'd have to find a proper driving place...
( they could search for that, but they should also get back to the school with the truck due for what they've just been through. he turns to look at alice curious. )
What's our plan, you have your hands on the wheel...
no subject
Perhaps when we return, instead of cutting down trees right away, we could search for a large clearing first? Sara Chidouin shouldn't drive around near too many obstacles yet... Later, we could create a more challenging practice route through the forest.
[ It's not as if the girl urgently needs to drive anywhere, so they can recover before reconvening to venture back out here! The dried swamp mud feels disgusting, their clothing still caked with it, for all that they tried to dust it off. ]
Our immediate plan should simply be to find somewhere secret to park the truck on the school grounds, and then get ourselves cleaned up...
no subject
Mhm... that would be smart to clean ourselves first and then focus on everything else.
( he'll give that to him as he leans back now to enjoy the ride actually despite his condition. his hair manages to bounce in the air as alice drives, and one hand hangs out in a poor attempt to try and hit some of the leaves that pass by. he manages, but it stings on his hand that passes just a few seconds after. )
Hm... Mary Anne, did you ever teach your sibling how to drive? You sound pretty good at this.

Komaeda's question has him glancing over to the passenger seat again, however, longer than he should by safe driving standards. There's no memory that instantly surfaces in answer, nothing as wonderful as playing the piano together.
Perturbed, strangely ashamed, Alice shakes his head. ]
...Reko and I... The only thing she asked of me was my presence as a placeholder band member. I merely obtained my driver's license because I thought that it would be useful, but perhaps driving practice together would have been fun.
[ Then again, Reko was unhappy in those days — it might have caused more stress instead. ]
Like this...

( at the time there was no need to when the world was crumbling underfoot, and the streets cracked from earthquakes and despair that walked atop. he doesn't have anything so kind as alice when he speaks, but it must have been a warm moment to be alive in. komaeda's hands settle into his lap as he doesn't turn his head to watch the other, rather he listens to his vocal thoughts to nod right after.
when he thinks about it, it really does sound nice. )
Obtaining a permit from you sounds like fun, how about you make one and offer it when I'm pretty good at driving.
( from one look at komaeda, one can tell that he doesn't obey laws probably and would pass red lights, but there's nothing like that here so maybe he'll pass with flying colors with alice overseeing him. as he watches the road before them, the other if a pretty decent driver who exercises safety from the way that he moves through the trees, and he doesn't go too fast either unlike komaeda who would have pressed down really hard just to scare whoever was with him. )
If I ever meet her, I'll make sure she knows she chose the best chauffeur for the band!
