komaeda — 06/29, library — V3 spoilers
the meeting was a lot, there was a lot to process, komaeda was a lot to process too. honestly, it's a lot to come to terms with in under a day, hard for him to justify continuing these visits considering the knowledge he has now, but...
it's also hard to think of abandoning him completely.
while it's true that komaeda can be terrible, that he says awful things, that he acts like he has no consideration at all for how he might affect other people — if it's the conclusion saihara reached, it's probably also true that he murdered another student in this school. at the same time, it feels like something is missing; the warnings, the way he seemed to make an effort even while he kept others at a distance, the desperation in his eyes at that time. it's not that amami condones it, what komaeda did, but...
he thinks about natsume. he thinks about his own killing game, and about kaede, and about the clue to end it.
he missed yesterday, but on the 29th, he's back. this time, as a couple of times before, he's brought something to eat. a bottle of orange juice and a granola bar from the vending machine, a toasted sandwich from the home ec room — he sets them on the ground between the two of them as he sits down next to komaeda, looking to he other expectantly, pointing to the pile of books that's already accumulated as if to ask, "may i?" )
no subject
he can feel an ultimate come closer to him, and komaeda doesn't have to guess who it is, so it doesn't take him long until someone sets down a few offerings, and then sits down themselves. he looks at the variety to the drink, the granola, and then the sandwich. it happens every time now when amami visits, and komaeda always thinks the same thing that he doesn't deserve it, nor should he have his company.
he watches where his finger points, and he's hesitant for a moment, brow raise as he looks at the other yet again. he can't rally tell an ultimate what to do and what not to do, but he does wonder why amami is here... last time when they were all together, he was in rika's company, and he even looks around to see if she's going to appear. maybe they do need pen and paper. )
no subject
he's gonna take one book off the pile anyway, before leaning back to take his own notebook back out again. he knows he's going to the library daily now, and he knows they can't talk there, and even if komaeda doesn't really speak back to him, it's probably best to have some kind of communication going between them. so he scribbles on the bottom of the last page he'd used, on the visit before this one, and offers it over to komaeda. )
you don't mind if i borrow this one, do you?
no subject
...is kawaii-san not with you?
( he ignores the question because amami should know better than anyone else, komaeda folds when it comes to ultimates. it doesn't matter who it is, he's too adjusted to their wants, despite doing what he wants because he can. they're just books: some crime mysteries, others geography books that he's halfway gotten though, and within all the books amami will see there's a bookmark here, and a bookmark there. it shows that during komaeda's time here that he hasn't been able to focus properly on one, but at least he's been keeping himself busy.
the book amami's chosen has a bookmark on the fifteenth page, he could flip to that if he wants. )
no subject
anyway, the books and marks are noted mentally, though really, amami's attention is primarily focused on komaeda. the pen is offered when komaeda reaches for it, though he'll look at little sheepish at the contents of the note komaeda's written for him. )
not right now
( he's pretty overbearing, it's true, but so long as he's back by her side by nightfall, he's a little bit less worried about it. )
should i pass on a message for you?
no subject
anyway, his eyes watch what amami writes, and once the pen is back into his possession. )
I was only surprised that you still come around trash like me.
Actually... you should remain around Ultimates... the last thing I want to do is sully your image.
( he wants to make sure the other know, and it's probably been awhile since he heard komaeda write it out for him to see. his actions suggested the same want for amami to leave him, but he's too self-loathing to care about himself, so being like this is easier. when amami thought komaeda had something nice to say for rika, no, he's just telling amami he should distance himself from trash, and be with his kind. )
no subject
the handwriting could be better though... )
what image? it's not like i have much of one to begin with
actually, you can't really prove that i'm an ultimate either
so it should be fine for me to come here
( it's a free country, bitch! )

meng yao — 07/01, 1-A
which is probably more of a concern for the third year who's now shown up in 1-A after class than it actually is for meng yao himself, but it is what it is. the fact of the matter is that it just takes a cursory glance around the room to take in the various first years and note that there's only one familiar face among them, leading his expression to brighten as he looks back to that very face. if meng yao glances up, amami will wave first — if not, he'll just find him taking a seat at a vacant desk in front of the other. )
Sorry, but are you busy right now? I have a favour to ask.
( because they're totally at the favour-asking stage in their relationship, right? )
no subject
Anyway, he will suddenly raise his head and turn his head towards the green-haired male when he sits in front of him, asking that question. ]
Yes? What can this one happily help you with?
[ He sounds a little overeager to please, but it's a habit he can't shake. Doubly so for someone who he seems to have a positive rapport with. ]
no subject
You seem like a pretty diligent student, so I was wondering if you might have some notes I could borrow for class.
( though his expression falls slightly when he glances off to the side, continuing. )
A friend of mine has been missing a lot of them lately, but I don't want her to fall too far behind.
( those merit points fund her midnight snacks, you know? can't let them fall too short. )
no subject
[ Meng Yao hopes that doesn't sound rather egotistical of him, but...he is a little proud that someone would notice that he can be useful.
Easily, he holds out the notes to Amami, without a single bit of hesitation. ]
If you don't find it intrusive, may I ask the reason she has been missing them? Perhaps there are additional ways this humble one can be of assistance.
no subject
Last week, you remember those students? Two of them were pretty good friends of hers.
( may as well be upfront about it; it's not like it's a secret, or like she's the only one missing from this class after what happened. )
But, well, even if I asked something else of you, she'd probably just get mad at me. ( likes to think she's independent, that one. )
no subject
Because ah...right. ]
That's alright, then.
Sometimes it's just the little things that help, right?
[ Maybe in the end it'll prove to be a stepping stone of some sort. ]

crona — 07/04, home ec room

Oh wow...hi Amami...are you really already here? [ They trot up behind him, leaning under his shoulder to peer at the fridge. ] Wow, there's a lot of stuff in here!
no subject
( the woes of only having access to the single shared kitchen in a school. amami offers a glance and a smile over his shoulder, nodding to the fridge contents. )
Anything in here that you wanna try and use?
no subject
[ That's the most numerous thing in the fridge...anything else. Crona struggles to remember if they have any actual opinions on food. They like pasta, do they remember what type they like. ] I like when pasta has butter on it...so we can use that?
Sorry, I don't really know a lot...do we know what kind of sauce its going to have? I like all kinds.
no subject
We can start simple with spaghetti. ( since it's a cheap type of pasta noodle you can find pretty easily — something flexible to start with. )
Usually that's got a kind of marinara sauce, so... do you like spicy, sweet, or both?
no subject
[ It's because Komeada should never be left unattended with small murdertweens! There was like, a whole spin-off game about that... ]
I don't really know but...Spicy things are kind of hard to deal with? [ They follow his line of sight, tapping their chin curiously. ] They make my mouth hurt. I don't really get why people like that stuff. You're supposed to avoid things that hurt!
[ So that, kind of counts as a preference. ]

rika — 07/08, courtyard
listen... some fresh air feels good after this long. )
Are you sure you wanna stay out here again, Kawai-san? I know it might not be the most comfortable.
( not that he looks like he minds but, y'know. )
no subject
amami's here, and that's the only reason she even comes out. )
Ugh, call me Rika-chan, at least. 'Kawai-san' sounds so official, I don't like it! ( huffs. )
no subject
( that's news to him — reflected by the easy to read surprise in his expression. but then, it's not like he's never had something like this pointed out to him before; he'd rather not compare the situations though, and he takes a moment to weigh his options before offering up a sheepish look. )
Sorry, Rika-san. ( a compromise... ) I didn't mean to come off as cold or anything.
no subject
( say it or else. )
no subject
( defeated sigh. )
Rika-chan...?
no subject
anyway. )
So, why do you like sleeping outside like an animal, again... ?
