dorm fundraiser log

Just for the weekend, the classrooms 3-A and 3-B have been transformed into a host club and a maid cafe, respectively. The students are free to come and go as they please, as well as bring their parents, siblings and whoever else to come help raise funds for the dorms. The promotional poster hangs on the wall between the classrooms, its' artist unknown and left uncredited.

CLASSROOM 3-A

Aka the temporary home of a maid cafe. Decorated mostly in golds and blues, just for today, the students can indulge the illusion of being a Master and having some semblance of control in their lives.

The cafe serves coffee, tea, placebo love potions that taste like strawberry soda, omurice donated by the cooking club with an option to request a message written in ketchup, and a variety of sweets, including baked goods prepared by the transfer students. Some of our cute maids include Kaede, Nene, Natsume, Noah, and, for a very brief time, Rika — though she quickly leaves to tend to the love spell booth. A little far off from that happens to be the kissing booth, ran by Subaru and Komaeda, as well as the charm-selling booth ran by Natsume. Any treats the students offered up for sale will be displayed on a makeshift menu written down on the chalkboard, with slightly-exaggerated prices, because this is a fundraiser and we can't have people skimp out.

CLASSROOM 3-B

Next up, the host club, with Lucifer, Sara, Hinata, Komaeda, Hajun, Gundham and Subaru working in shifts to appease the picky tastes of any students who feel like becoming a refined Ojou-sama.

Just like the Maid cafe, the Host club offers a variety of foods donated by the students, with an additional option to order an alcohol-less champagne, which is really just bubbly soda served in a champagne glass. But, you know, for the realism... A bit further into the classroom, you'll find Gundham's cartomancy booth, as well as Shuichi's lost & found booth. You're free to request as many hosts as you want for the occasion, and make them drink as much of the bubbly soda as you wish, all for a price, of course — and if someone's stomach starts to hurt, well... that's why they take turns!

HALLWAY

The festivities take part long before you enter either classroom, however...

Outside, you can find little Turing, who's all dressed up and eager to help and provide information about the boths, as well as our lovely Elizabeth, who, on top of making snow cones with her very fearsome persona, is offering quick-and-easy introductions for each maid and host, to make your choice that much simpler! Simply name whoever you're interested in, and you'll get to hear a witty line about them:

( just before everything begins, there's some last-minute touchups that need doing... so you might find her at the tables doublechecking the food and drinks- some of which she's made herself!- or adjusting the maid dress that had turned up at her locker mysteriously, along with the cat ears...

... w-who's idea was that? she's more flustered than she'd like... b-but maybe customers will like that?

or, perhaps... you'll find her fixing her pigtails or checking her makeup in private behind the changing curtains, because red eyeshadow can't hide red, sleepless eyes as well as anyone wishes that it could. but oddly enough, despite the many months in this hell school... you might notice that nene's cleaner than ever and smells like a lovely ocean breeze? what's up with that. )

( despite the unease behind the scenes, nene seems to be handling everything well! so when you come in, don't be too surprised when she smiles brightly and sincerely, gesturing to open chairs. )

( noooo, she's gonna laugh more!!! with a little curtsy, nene turns around to get a tray for his order... something she'd like, huh...? well, if she's going to be doing this sort of thing, something light would be best. so an airy fruit tart for herself as well, and a cup of tea should be fine.

carefully, she sets everything down delicately at the desk- because let's be real, it's all at desks- though, she seems a little unsure if she should also sit... he's her first taker, and she's been a waitress before, but not... this...

( the name almost sounds foreign off his lips, but he continues on as he tries to catch her attention. )

What drink on the maid's side is a customer's favorite? I wanted to see if starting off with that would be more preferable in engaging conversation...

( oh no, she's been found! jolting just a bit, nene stares for a moment before thinking. )

Oh- well, you don't like sweet things, right...? ( she saw him give away that candy way back when. she remembers. ) Customers who prefer bitter or mellow tastes like the coffee a lot, or the herbal teas- the matcha latte is also nice without being overly sweet...

It's not about me, you know? It's about people you serve, so our taste is meaningless...

( actually, it's pretty hard easy to play this role because it's about enjoying himself, and as his prosthetic lightly punches his other hand in thought. even though he doesn't like sweet things, that doesn't mean it should be taken off the list if someone enjoys it. they can never reject what their customer is into, but he gives a cursory glance over what nene has chosen for herself. )

Let's say if you were my Oujo-sama, don't you think I should cater to you first and foremost?

I'm not a good example of an ojou-sama, because I'd want you to have something that you enjoy too. But if you insist, I'd probably want the strawberry cream soda, or the sweet vanilla latte.

[ Nanami fell asleep on a chair beside the sandwhiches for Nene. She says, ]

No... Peanut butter will .. Explode... Frosted bananas....

[ After he head bobs she rubs her eyes catching sigh of Nene. ]

Ah.... Nene... How are you....?

Ah... were you asleep, Nanami-san?

( they're all working hard... but a nap did sound nice, honestly. )

I'm alright. It's just time for me to take a break. It's been really busy today, but not as much as the host club... I hope they're alright over there.

[moderating]

[ Nanami shrugs off the sleepy spell by adjusting regularly into her seat and looking over toward Nene. ]

... I was... I am always like this don't mind me... Are you having fun at least?

( exhaustion is a problem these days... must be the horrible sleeping arrangements. no, nene, it's not- she accepts this though. )

I spent a few days as a waitress once, but it was nothing like this- it's all new and exciting!

[ Minato takes his seat without fuss, but he's a terrible master because instead of focusing on just Nene, he keeps looking around at the other tables until she does her spiel about the menu. He doesn't linger on any host or maid in particular, but the other customers, as if gauging how much they're enjoying themselves. People smiling makes him smile, just a little. ]

( ah... is this someone she's seen around before? she's not sure, actually. ... it's probably fine. once he's seated, nene leans over to present the menu. )

As you can see, we have a lovely variety of teas, cream sodas and coffees, as well as a chocolate cake, cheesecake, tiramisu and cookies. Mr. Lucifer was also kind enough to provide wonderful dishes as well!

( but do i know what fancy meals that man made with high school home economics room supplies? no. no i do not. )

[ If it weren't for the blue hair and decidedly not Yogen school uniform he wears, he might've blended right into the crowd and never be noticed— he has that air about him that many of the other npcs have: quiet, keeps to himself, very good at not standing out until you're right in front of him.

Talking brings his attention back, at least, but nothing makes Minato's eyes snap up to meet Nene's like that name. ]

Lucifer... what did he make? I'd like to try...

He helped me make some of the larger cakes- they're very rich and delicious!- and then he made some of our more savory foods to contrast our desserts. I think the club sandwich is the best one, though.

( even as she speaks, she'll point out different things for him however- it really feels like the sort of thing you'd see in a real cafe. just how did lucifer do all of that? ... demon magic. )

[Hinata stops by pretty early on, probably after her second or third guest. When he sees her, his breath catches just a bit, followed immediately by a spreading warmth in his chest.

He wonders, if he'd been born an older sibling... Would he have felt like this any time he felt proud?

But there's no need to get caught up in that now. In the now, he simply smiles brightly at Nene.]

Wow... Look at you, Nene, you look lovely. [He was so caught off-guard by the sight of her he nearly forgot to ask] Has everyone been treating you well so far?

[Hopefully they've all been on their best behavior :)]

( when he swings around, she's all too happy to smile and wave, between guests. and then he speaks, with that fond look in his eyes and a sincere smile. underneath his proud gaze, nene smiles bashfully- but she does a little twirl for him too, giggling a bit. )

Thank you, Hajime-nii... Oh! Um, yes, everyone's been really polite!

[He laughs lightly when she twirls. It's so good, to see her in higher spirits. Hinata knows this can't make everything better... but it already seems like it might be good for her, so he lets the protective gloves slide down a little.]

You're welcome. And good... if they hadn't, I would've had to give them a good talk. [and he still will :) if everyone doesn't behave themselves :)] Is it the same as with the host club side of things, mostly just serving food and drinks?

Ah- yeah, but I get to make cute drinks! ( drinktok be jealous- ) We do, um, have to sit and talk to people if they want, a-and um... sometimes call them 'master'... But! It's fine! I knew what I was signing up for!

We're hosting a fundraiser to raise money for dorms, so we'll have proper places to sleep and stuff. This room is the maid cafe, so people can get snacks and drinks and, um... ( does she want to explain maidplay? ... no. no she does not. ) and next door is the host club, where girls get doted on by cute guys. It's a weird thing but... well, people are willing to pay money for it?
