[ 3 AM Rokkun was not thinking right, and neither is 6:whatever AM Rokkun, because okay, maybe he totally ruined everybody else's day, but he needs to take Amami aside, deck him across the face, and then he'll feel better. He can't even look at the shopkeeper who he's sure has a nervous expression on his face, and he'd bet his college tuition fund that the kid is stuck to Komaeda's side, slightly behind his legs like he would do when he was very young.

Not thoughts he wants in his head right now, so he waits until the other two are down the hall and walking up the stairs to the roof before rounding on Amami, arms crossed in some attempt to keep the bloodlust contained but it's a losing battle. ]

( the anger is pretty much radiating off of rokkun in waves, yeah, and amami's no stranger to that kind of feeling. the words shouldn't really come as a surprise to him, but he can't say that he'd been expecting them either. in the end what he offers is a slow blink, and with a tilt of his head, the light smile doesn't fall from his features. his brows do draw together more apologetically though. if it were anyone other than rokkun, maybe he'd have a different response, but... knowing the situation, it's not like amami doesn't understand where the sentiment might come from. )

[ It's a comment that makes them thoughtful, quieting as they trot down the hall to the stairs. Lonely... It's only lonely at night, when there's no customers around, but they can deal with that by going to sleep early so that it'll be tomorrow sooner.

They'll be too busy during the day to watch the birds, and once everybody leaves it'll be too dark to see outside. Maybe hanging a suncatcher out there is the way to go... ]

[ She's not going to shove him off the roof, and in extension that means she will not have to subject herself to a picnic date. ]

[ The hurt shows on Rokkun's face and he wishes it didn't, wishes he could wipe that smug grin off Amami's face but for all his anger and frustrations, it's the hurt that rises above his neck and threatens to drown him.

He would have been angry but able to accept it if Amami had found out the same way Komaeda found out, inadvertently stumbling across a memory nobody was ever supposed to see. But for his brother to give away that name— and it really does feel like giving away, from the hands of the brother who bestowed it upon him in the first place, to the hands of somebody else— somebody Kogamo clearly cares about, somebody who is taking care of him, who he calls a brother, who is doing what is supposed to be Rokuro's job but he's been... replaced. He isn't needed anymore. Kogamo is happy— thriving— without him. It's all Rokuro had ever wanted and he should be happy about it but instead, the hurt feels like drowning.

He squeezes his eyes shut tight, wills himself to not cry, and opens them again. ]

and unlike night terrors, there is somebody in front of them and instead of running away they close the gap to whack Subaru as hard as they can, no heavy book in their hands this time and their punches are messy, easy to block and clearly unpracticed, barely able to see for the tears that well up in their eyes and spill down their cheeks and the entire time they have not stopped yelling. ]

[ Hikaru stares at Komaeda making rice like I thought we were going to eat toast together but okay... Eggs cook quickly and once they are, they slide the egg and toast onto a plate for Komaeda, and for their own they add a dash of salt and then break the yolk so it can soak into the bread. ]
