( he sure is looking because now someone is embarrassed... huh... )

Do you want me to touch your wood?

( as they walk into the workshop which is add's domain. )

[ He wants to take the log and smack Komaeda over the head with it so he'll forget, that's what he wants to do ]

Is that an innuendo?

It's a promise.

( well he CAN'T because it's komaeda's, and he's going to set it on the table away from rokkun so he can't.

but he'll look for some wood they can use to carve with? he guesses large pieces work? )

[ Like he can't just pick up the log after it's been set down. He doesn't, though, looking through the wood they have to work with and finding a large flat plank for himself, something he can comfortably lay flat on his lap to work with. ]

What are you making?

[commences]

( "what are you making?" goes over his head because he's not listening, he's too busy staring at his piece of wood. he's never carved before, so it'd be a new activity that he doesn't know how to properly process with someone else.

he's going through his head at the moment to see what he should do, what he shouldn't do... paws reach out to brush against the surface of it, and when there's a small catch of his furred glove, he'll remove it to trace his organic finger against the wood instead. )

( yeah, he's in his own world. )

[ Knew he could appreciate wood. Got another convert.

Rokkun isn't one to bother another person when they're in their own world; it's why he liked the art room, before people kept barging in there wanting to talk, because it'd be full of people engrossed in their own projects and that sort of quiet energy is nice to get lost in.

He picks up a pencil and a chisel, and starts to sketch out something that'll eventually look like this ]

[commences]

( he'll walk over to where rokkun is with his piece of wood that he's picked up, and rather than thinking thoughts on something nice it could be. he's just looking for his own chisel so he can make a pointed end, like one would do a spear. he wants a sharp point, something that can easily penetrate the body if he forces it down enough.

he stops for a moment to look at what rokkun's sketching, blinking: )

Who lives there?

( maybe there's a story to this. )

[ Okay... technically that's wood carving, so he can't say anything about it, though he does look up from his work to Komaeda's spear-in-progress when he speaks up ]

Nothing, this one doesn't have spores.

[commences]

Hm... it should.

( he's decided, which means he's changing the idea of rokkun's rough draft because he can. don't change his mind. )

Give it spores, it's Halloween... they want to play, too.

[adsum]

I'd have to go outside to collect them...

[ What do spores have to do with Halloween? Is he really going to ask Rokkun to go outside into the forest on Halloween and rub mushrooms on this piece of wood or however you spore things ]

[commences]

No, you're creative enough... put them in the carving. There can be a Mrs. and Mr. Spore, and then you can give them puffball mushroom as a pet...

( he's just chatting away about this, and if rokkun really wanted, he could just tell komaeda to shut up tbh, because he's not even carving anymore. he just wants to see rokkun do it. )

And...

[adsum]

And... what?

[ He's not going to carve Mrs. and Mr. Spore, if only because he's trying to wrap his mind around why the mature mushroom would be a pet and not a grandparent or however the analogy works ]

[commences]

And...

( he's looking at rokkun to finish the 'and' this is their shared story. )

You're the Lumberjack, Rokkun, the protagonist of our story, you should fill in the blanks.

( because why wouldn't he when he has the chance to create whatever appeals to him? he's the one who has to draw it, and the fact that he vetoed mrs. and mr. spore in such a manner is just the start. )

The story of a lumberjack Rokuro and the wolf living in the forest?

[ It'll be hard to change things once he's started carving, but luckily he's still on the sketching phase of things. Animals... are not his strong point, and humans include animals.

... ]

The lumberjack is inside the cabin, and the wolf is hidden inside the trees.

[commences]

If that's how the narration goes, I guess there is... I haven't heard that story, so let's see...

( he picks up his chisel so that he can go back to his spear, the sharp end scraping as he thinks on the start, as he thinks of what to say. one of those children stories so that they can sleep at night? something for adults? who knows. )

The wolf left from the pack that it originated from, most likely used to being alone, or did its family die... you can never tell with animals like them.

( his eyes remain on the spear, and he uses his organic hand to rub along the length of it, brushing his finger over the point. ) Hm... but if it's hidden, maybe it wanted to stalk Lumberjack Rokuro, he does have a lot of meat on his bones.

( playful teasing. )

[ talk... stalk... it went from cute to not so cute

He wasn't even thinking of narration, he was thinking about the easiest way to carve this which is by hiding people behind walls and animals behind trees ]

It'll stalk rabbits and deer, first. Prey animal that won't fight back like a person would, so wolf attacks on humans rarely happen.

[commences]

( STOPPPP stalking could be cute for it, maybe it wants a friend? )

You think so?

( as if komaeda won't push rokkun off the chair that he's sitting on, like that isn't a rabid thought in his mind right now as he thinks of their position as person and wolf. but, he drops the chisel on the table so that he doesn't have any urges, and instead rests his paws into the seat of his lap. )

Hm... Why does Lumberjack Rokkun stay to himself? He could go out, and cut tree after tree.

( he's going to reach out to tap the other's rough draft just because he can. )

[adsum]

[ He uses the tip of his pencil to nudge Komaeda's hand away so he can work, and to break that habit before he gets to the chisel part of this. ]

That's wasteful. If the trees are tall and wide enough, you'd be able to get a cord of wood out of one, and you'll only need two or three to get through the winter.

[commences]

( komaeda's going to grab his pencil since it's in his way, but he'll give it back if he pulls it away. )

But that depends on the type of tree, doesn't it? What if you live in a forest with a variety of certain trees, then you have to be mindful of which you cut down...

( his thumb brushes against the tip of the pencil, playing with it. )

How long until winter in this scenario?

[adsum]

I still wouldn't go around hacking trees left and right.

[ Part of the beauty of living in the forest is having forest, or something ]

It's summer in this scenario, because it's easier to carve blades of grass than it is snow.
