Hikaru doesn't really know what to think about this being a waste of time, because they were really hoping to be helpful— they'd even answered Natsume's rock question well. But they shake their head at the apology, glad enough to accept it. ]

That's... really quite a promise. Because bad things will always happen, senpai, you can't protect everybody from everything.

I know, and I know it was completely ludicrous to try and promise such a thing as WELL... I've made plenty of impossible promises this year, actualLY.

( saying he'll talk to people before he acts, promising not to lie to certain people, no murders, preventing incidents, returning soul fragments, swearing he'll rely on others when he needs to... )

But magicians are capable of many impossible THINGS. ( A little smile. ) And plenty of STRANGE, seemingly impossible things have happened HERE, so I'll let myself be a little hopeful that I can do someTHING.

I'm sure you will! Even if it's hard to keep those sorts of promises, you still made them, right? At least you're trying your hardest, rather than not trying at all, and I bet your efforts will pay off in the end!
