[ Oh? Oh... Nene looks like a mess, but he knows better to say that out loud, at least, sliding off the windowsill to approach Nene and take her hands in his, as if doing so would lift that much weight off her shoulders so she isn't literally dragging herself inside. ]

What are you talking about, Yashiro? Did something happen?

( listen... she knows. she knows. she's gonna need to clean up soon. but more importantly is hanako's hands taking hers, and she still can't quite look him in the eye- not without forcing herself to. she'd thought chiaki had meant within the confines of the school, the boundary it must be, alone, not- not... )

... I had been talking to someone- ( because nene's tulpa is important to me and i don't want him to nearly die AGAIN ) -and... how we got here came up. ... Hanako-kun, we- all of the "transfer studnets" are dead. I'm dead.

[ He frowns internally, because no? He would know— he in particular would know, given who he is and what he is and that he was supposed to have...

Everybody was able to see him, from the start, when the only way that would be possible is if they were spiritually inclined or are close to death themselves. Already dead themselves. But it doesn't make sense. He keeps that smile on his face, one that doesn't quite reach the eyes. ]

Do you believe that someone?

[ Or does she believe in him? ]

( does it have to be one or the other? but then, it was he himself who said raising the dead was impossible- and he's shutting her down again, he always- always... her eyes squeeze shut as she tries to keep herself steady. )

I don't think he was lying. A-and he wouldn't have reason to.

( and maybe that might not make it true, then- someone can tell what they believe is the truth and be wrong. it happens all the time. but kazuki's always been there, as he said. even from his position... )

[ When their beliefs are at odds, it has to be one or the other. Besides, Nene believes easily— believes in other people easily— and Hanako knows better than most how little of a reason one needs to spin lies.

His voice drops a little, though, tilting his head so that his face is below hers and he can look up at her no matter how bowed her head is. ]

What are you sorry about? You didn't do anything wrong.

[ Because nothing's wrong. Everything is fine. His whole point of being here is to make sure of that... ]

a lot of things? but she doesn't say any of them. she doesn't avoid his gaze either, despite how she wants to turn away. instead, she pauses for a moment, before quietly wrapping her arms around his neck.

she's been breathing the whole time she's been here, right? she doesn't remember, and now it feels conscious, like she's actively trying now. )
