It's a rough draft! Don't look at it! I'm just putting ideas down!
[ Stop! don't look at it, don't say it's bad, they're sensitive and can't handle the criticism ]
no subject
( he holds it up, not letting npckun get a hold of it because he's actually charmed by how bad the set up is — it goes one thing into another, and then into another. despite that, everything written inside has to be true, considering how much information the other checked into the book for. )
We can build off this into something better... that's what hope is, too, this is a stepping stone which you can use to make something great from it! With this... we can facilitate an increase in Tsukimi-kun's grades, and you heard his teacher... he's failing.
no subject
Yeah! The next draft will be better, you'll see!
[ It's not going to be any more coherent, they're just going to insert more Fun Fish Facts in between thoughts. ]
no subject
I'll edit it after you, so write anything that you want as long as it's about anglerfish.
( this will come in handy for shin, he'll be surprised how far both him and npckun went into making sure that the other passes his class. who knew that someone who is so involved in computers as much as he is would be failing looking into the books? it's not that bad... is it.
...but then he remembers... he's going to get up. )
no subject
oh ]
Do you have to use the bathroom?
[ Why else would he be leaving? Sit down and watch them write. ]
no subject
( he looks around for them, and hopefully they won't get on them for talking... god, it should be a crime to talk in the library, actually. he slips npckun's paper between his notes on the pillow book so that no one can see it, because if they find out this is extra credit... they'll surely take it, and he can't look npckun's hard work. )
Unless you want to finish... you're doing really well.
no subject
"you're doing really well"
it's that little scrap of praise that wins them over, hand darting out to take the sleeve over Komaeda's elbow to stop him before he gets too far. ]
I want to finish. It's easier to keep going when you're already in the mindset. Give it back.
no subject
You're dedicated to the cause...
( he grabs his own books now, opening it back to the page that he was on as he looks at what he's written so far. he's not satisfied with it, but he can use it as a base as well, but he'll rewrite what he did... mimicking the bubble letters along the way which actually look bad because his writing is so blocky. )
Tsukimi-kun will grovel and thank you for this, your grades would be way better than his.
no subject
They settle back down in their seat, paper in front of them and musing over where they'd left off. Anglerfish recipes. A good lead in to what the fish needs to be healthy, how they're solitary animals, the thing about male anglerfish dissolving, how they're kind of slimy, contrast that with their sharp teeth...
There's so much about anglerfish to write about. ]
Hehe... How much money do you think he'll pay for it? I can't cash out groveling or thank yous.
no subject
( they don't have jobs here, so it's hard to get money, and komaeda luckily stumbles across what he has every time. now he has a locker filled with money, but he doesn't know if shin has the same sort of extraordinary luck, considering this all works in npckun's favor. even though he's not too proud of the money that he has, that vague familiarity that it belongs to him — there's so many lives lost attached to it, but part of him is okay with offering it to a cause like the other. can something good come from it if he gives it all?
maybe he'll set some aside for shin. )
We can leave behind a note at his locker to visit you at the shop, you'll hold his clothes ransom as well.
no subject
Ooh, that's smart. So he'll have to buy the extra credit and the study guide and his clothes back. As a package deal. And we'll close the door after he comes inside.
no subject
( shin will have no choice, and maybe it is sad to give someone money like him, but komaeda will change his mind later down the road, don't worry. )
After we finish, we'll go by the art room... and we can cut out letters to leave him a note.
no subject
[ What's the point of being anonymous if they're directing him to the student store??? ]
no subject
( he's not taking anything else, and his handwriting is ugly so... shin probably can't even read it. )
no subject
[ Presumably they can write normally too. Maybe this is a skill they picked up from Rokkun who forges things. ]
no subject
sighs, aratas can do whatever they want. )
You might have to make a deal with Tsukimi-kun if he doesn't have money, maybe he can work for you...
no subject
Hm. I already have a lot of indentured servants. [ can't call them employees when they literally only pay Akira, and it's a meager amount based off commission ]
What's he good for? He did buy a lot of rocks at the sleepover, so he's getting his merit points from somewhere other than class?
no subject
( if komaeda regains some cameras and a tv, npckun can have their own ring when they're sitting in the back office. )
That way you can watch your shop, even when you're not there.
no subject
Oh. Is he smart or is he dumb? You have to be smart to hack into things... why is he failing?
no subject
( that's why shin's good at computers, but he's severely lacking when it comes to his grades. he chuckles at the thought, remembering in robotics that he was one of the people who worked into making a new computer with senku... he thinks. well, he found the floppy disks that hard porn, too. )
History has nothing to do with data! So that's probably why, do you want to enlist him as one of your indentured servants?
no subject
...I guess he would be good at getting pity sales. [ npckun gets those a lot, all the times they manage to sell a rock, so it's still a sizeable portion of their income ]
I'll write that into the contract. "Pay one hundred million yen* and you'll get your clothes back AND I'll make sure you pass your classes."
*or indentured servitude until graduation day
no subject
( he's a little curious, and while it's only something they talked about once, they should at least make it the same as that one. that way, shin can't squirm his way out. )
This offer should be given to all the third years... but then they'd fight for your attention.
no subject
[ That's their answer to both of those questions. ]
If I open the offer to up all third years, there's no stopping one student from taking the study guide and offering it to another for a lower price, undermining our efforts.
no subject
( say if npckun made a worse rough draft, they could sell it for a penny, or maybe two of them if that's all the people have. )
Though... All they have is merits, so how would we make a suitable contract... it'd be easier if they actually had money.
no subject
No, other students have money. Most of what I receive at the store is in cash. Using merit points is a rip-off.
