That's probably... a little difficult to determine right now. We don't even know if we can find it in the first place -- after all, we know there are people who were already planning to dig it out.

[ When they asked Kouji about it, he either didn't remember or he lied, and the old student council president... graduated and is no longer around to be asked. There's a possibility they succeeded in extracting the box and they hid it somewhere else, isn't there? Shuichi touches the corner of a knuckle to his chin as he thinks, going through the options in his mind.

But as for what they know right now... ]

I suppose if it were possible... I'd rather not do anything hasty. But we can't overlook it, either. We should at least ascertain some things... like for example, if the box is still there and what its contents might be.

Yeah, I'm not in any rush to make decisions before we know what we're dealing with, but I trust Saihara-kun on this one.

( he's not the ultimate detective for nothing. so digging up the box? as long as they're careful about it, he'd like to think they can avoid any harm being done. besides, amami doubts any of the three of them would choose to do anything rash when there's an alternative available; that's the good thing about this little adventuring party of theirs. )

Once we check it out, we can decide what to do from there. Sound good?

( he looks to saihara, and more expectantly, to clamor. )

( anyway, summary tag because this certainly happened, but saihara's out of commission and "clamor" is just here to do what he's told so nobody suspects a thing. after a quick briefing on the plan, and amami snapping their mirror in half and giving each of them a piece, they'll grab their spade (or shovel if you're having mercy on them) and head out.

clamor's on kazuki-watch duty to make sure they don't like, walk face-first into him, and amami will try and show the right spot so they can get to digging. )

[ As long as it's during the day, they won't run into any problems with Kazuki manifesting and hoisting them up by their collars and tossing them out of the courtyard, but maybe he'll know something is up anyways, because at this point in time the tree is still surrounded by grass that they will have no way around tearing up. As hilarious as making them dig with spades is, I'll have mercy and provide a shovel they can take turns using to dig and dig and dig and dig and dig...

The hole is much deeper than Amami would remember the box first being buried. Assuming he points out the precise location, will they continue digging deeper, or will they widen the hole instead? ]

[ ANYWAYS box adventures

It's midnight and they'll have to suffer shovels of dirt that feel twice as heavy as they ought to be and the temperature outside several degrees colder than it ought to be, because a certain gardener is going /: at them digging up the dirt around his tree. Maybe this is why it's dying and shedding its petals.

Eventually they do come across the box Amami recalls seeing, heavy enough that it requires two people to lift out of the ground. They will see that the box contains three keyholes, and a close inspection will show that they will need all three keys to be inserted and turned at the same time in order to open the box. ]

( hello again box adventures... kazuki mind ya own business, they'll fill the hole back up before morning or something.

but yeah, that sounds like an ordeal. is it a big box? it'd suck to go to all this trouble just to re-bury it, so they wanna carry it back to saihara's locker, or if it's too big for that, to probably saihara's dorm room for safe keeping. it's fine, silent hours, everyone's probably asleep anyway so nobody's gonna hassle 'em or know where it is if they put it under a bed. they'll return it when they solve the mystery. maybe. )

[ It's not a terribly large box, maybe 1x2x3 feet, but it'll have to be carried over to the dorm room for safekeeping, until they realize that this isn't so much of a mystery as maybe the keys are already out there somewhere. ]

( it's a mystery what's in it!! but yes... they'll be returning with all three pieces of the triforce after saihara kicks it and amami recovers from the shock enough to realize that their box needs a new caretaker. )
