( the answer comes easily enough, because from the beginning he's had no intention of leaving this place alone — right down to his initial skepticism of graduation itself as an option for him. as much as he enjoyed his time in lanling, it wasn't his home, and it didn't have what he needed to do, and he knew that kamo-kun was waiting for him to return... he may have overstayed a little bit, but he had always been resolved that he would come back. it would've been pretty cowardly of him to set up there all on his own just because it was the easy way out of all this. )

So what do you plan to do in a forest?

Well, I did end up with the survival club to look after, it'd be nice if we could expand our activities a bit. Our poor advisor, y'know, I think it'd make 'em really happy if we could go out some time.

If your answer to "why should I let you leave" is "because I want to," you aren't impressing me. There are acres upon acres of forest, in all directions, and you would be wandering for an indeterminate amount of time without even knowing what you're looking for.

Exactly why we could use access to some more things to do.

It's not like I've never navigated a forest before, Sensei, but let me just confirm this with you. If I can give you a reason why I want to go out into the forest, and I know where and what I'm looking for, you'll let me out, yeah? Is that what you'd consider "good enough"?

Don't worry about proving yourself to anybody. That's no way to live. Continue on as you are, and paths will open up before you when it's time.

There's bookshelves along the wall, and according to past Ori, they contain "books on counseling ... relationship books, self help books ... [and] also a little section with crime fiction and erotic romance." The desk the counselor is sitting on has drawers but none of them will open if Amami tries, and the chair behind the desk that he never sits on is one of those black leather swivel chairs. The desk itself is always clear of everything on top except for a bowl of snacks and the counselor himself. ]
