Autumn Semester

✽ School starts up again on August 30, and club supplies resume being replenished at the start of each week.
✽ All character run clubs survive the vetting process. Maya gives the jar of dragonflies to Hiro, who hot potatoes it to Nao, who opens the jar and sets them free outside. Maya will also tell Add that if his club damages any more of the school, she will shut down the Robotics & Programming Club. The cultists are delighted with their gifts and play rock-paper-scissors to determine who gets to keep what.
✽ The science club is shut down and disbanded due to their club project being interrupted and therefore incomplete, and the door to the lab will not open to any student. The club may be reinstated in the winter semester, and will be open to all students regardless of grade level.
✽ Posted all around the school are colorful posters painted by somebody who has no sense of color theory nor any idea what racoons, manta rays, or zebras look like. They advertise the student store, and its newest attraction:
✽ There is now a gacha machine set up outside the student store, which only takes tokens provided by the shopkeeper. Tokens are 1000 yen or 10 merit points each, and 99.99999% of the prizes are normal boring rocks, but there is a miniscule chance of winning rare gemstones. If you return 100 empty gacha capsules back to the shopkeeper for recycling, they will give you one free token.

Setting Updates

✽ The right fourth floor hallway will be cleaned up during the first few days of school, with the gorinto rocks lined up against the walls on either side, and enough structural support is done so the hallway is in no danger of collapsing.
✽ The rooftop on the right side of the school can be accessed via the stair up from the end of the fourth floor hallway. The rooftop on the left side of the school can be accessed via the windows on the fourth floor, where you have to lean out the window and pull yourself up somehow. The two halves of the roof are separated by the clock tower, and there is no railing. There are concrete dividers sectioning out part of the right side into what may have once been a rooftop garden.
✽ Touching the track for more than 2 seconds results in permadeath. If you're able to jump over the track to the field, the grass is lush and green, although it gives more than expected, like a lawn after rain.
✽ There are six ball courts with height-adjustable poles for tennis and volleyball. Very old, falling apart equipment can be found in storage in the auditorium, while brand new ones can be purchased from the student store. The courts are surrounded by 10-foot fall chain link electric fence both between and around them, with a voltage high enough to cause severe burns to death, depending on the duration of contact. Electricity flows through all parts of the fencing except the door handle on the side of each court to enter.
✽ The indoor swimming pool contains separate girls and boys changing rooms, each consisting of 5 changing stalls, 2 showers, a bathroom, and 20 small lockers that do not come with their own locks but you can purchase one from the student store. Swimsuits, floaties, and towels can also be purchased from the student store. The pool is 25 meters by 25 meters, with a shallow end of 3 ft which then drops precipitously towards the deep end, where a flimsy diving board is set up. The deep end seems to continue down for thousands of meters, with light quickly disappearing and pressure becoming immense, and there is no bottom. The water is held at a constant lukewarm, and is very very slightly tinged pink. It tastes strongly of saltwater. The only windows are located on the ceiling like a skylight rather than on the walls, and lights shut off at 6pm, so it is pitch black after sundown. The pool is always open.
✽ The dormitory is open to be moved into, with rooms assignments being ICly first come first served. There is no Resident Assistant in charge. It's a lawless land. Please use the toplevel below for sign-ups.

Autumnal Equinox

✽ September 23 marks the autumnal equinox. Like during the Vernal Equinox, students spend the week cleaning the school and gorintos are set upon the windowsills. Touching a gorinto causes the character to fall into a trance and experience the moments prior to death of the person being honored, up to and including the death, with all the physical and emotional pain that comes with it.
✽ On the morning of the equinox, red spider lilies bloom all across the courtyard and deep into the forest seemingly overnight. From the clock tower or rooftop, characters are able to see the forest surrounding them on all sides is entirely covered in the red flowers up to the crest, as if the entire land were awash with blood.
✽ The wisteria tree starts to shed petals, only a handful a day and impossible to notice compared to the hundreds upon thousands of petals held aloft by the tree, if it weren't for the fact that wherever a petal drops and touches the ground, the grass and flowers in the immediate vicinity are all dried up and dead.
✽ The void continues to grow, expanding outward and reaching up into the floor above.

OOC

✽ Characters in classes 1-B, 1-D, 1-E, 2-C, and 3-E (classes who rose at least one rank in August) find that in the void school, they can start to see the void students' faces instead of them being completely shadow. They look scared, angry, resigned, anything but happy.

not that either of my characters would be testing that one BUT also track related, how is the info on the track being received IC? is it fair to assume an NPC would stop someone if they tried to step onto it, or do they just gotta wait for someone to die? or (somehow the least likely option in my mind) is a teacher or stuco or someone actually gonna remind everyone upfront upon return not to touch the murder track?

☽ Obligatory Beach Episode

[Aside from their new rooms, the first thing Noah goes to poke his head into is the pool, in the most literal sense of the word; he takes a running leap at the water and cannonballs into it from the side of the pool, emerging after a short second to shake his hair out like a wet cat and treading water. It's a break to be certain. He's needed something leisurely.

If you're nearby when he does that and he splashes you or bowls you over, he's not sorry. Well, okay, he's a little bit sorry.

It's easy to see like this, too, that when Noah tells people he's been in actual life-or-death battles before that he's not lying. The kid looks like he's been put through a blender, one of the scars being fresher than others — on his upper left arm, from where Hyde's knife struck him months ago. That same arm is black from fingertips to just past his elbow like soot that'll never wash off.

But regardless of what he's apparently been through — a lot, probably — he's having fun now swimming laps around the pool. He might even splash you if you're nearby, dear Gods, is Noah okay? He's having... fun? Is this allowed?]

☽ Briny Depths

[On his return visit to the pool, Noah decides he's going to check out this thing called a "diving board" which he thinks might break under his weight considering just how flimsy the thing is. He leaps, lands, plunges...

...and by his calculations this end goes down too far. How hard did he dive? That can't be right. If you're nearby, you'll see him emerge from the water, shake his hair out, look momentarily baffled, and then suck in a deep breath of air and dive back down.

Noah does not emerge for a solid two minutes. He's learnt to hold his breath for long periods of time — because when you're sneaking around like he does back home, the sound of breathing is a dead giveaway to your location — so he's alright, for now, but still. No bubbles rise to the surface, and all is still. It's like he disappeared into the dark, never to return, and maybe his corpse will float to the surface in a moment—

—or perhaps you'll hear a gasp as the water breaks and Noah hacking and coughing, leaning on the side of the pool to regain his strength. All he says after a moment is a breathless,]

Fuck.

☽ Cats (199X)

[Welcome to the dormitory common room, where there are shadow cats everywhere. No, seriously, they're everywhere (within a ten foot radius of Noah, anyway), doing cat things — cleaning their little paws, bristling at each other, play-fighting, napping, rolling onto their backs, headbutting the couches like they're marking their scents on it, scratching the couches (or pantomiming it anyway — no damage is actually being done here)... cat things! So many cat things from so many medium-small sized cats.

Noah himself is sketching in one of the armchairs, legs tucked to his chest and sketchbook crammed in between the small space between his legs and torso. His left arm swirls with shadow magic as he maintains the magic, though the cats themselves seem to be on autopilot. You're free to pet them since they won't bite, and Noah will tell you as much if you ask. They're just friends that feel vaguely like patting semi-solid, congealed mist!

He can also make dogs, hamsters, and giant man-eating crabs. The possibilities are endless; Noah takes requests.]

( noah's sanity is a rather interesting concept, it seems with the new locations comes new attitudes, and so to view him in the pool area more than once is something. it's probably something to keep his mind off everything that happened, but at least he's aware that his actions meant something. as twisted as they are, komaeda's proud of him enough, especially when he dives into the water, submerged for who knows how long. the seconds in komaeda's head go one, two, three, four — counting, watching for bubbles, and seeing nothing.

if he died, he would see a struggle, the water ripple telling his location, and luckily for him — it's a dead giveaway when he comes back up, a familiar shade of hair piercing through the surface of the water, and komaeda is knelt down luckily on the side that the other appears. the subtle curse, and komaeda smiles looking down at him, curious — )

See anything down there?

( he asks, reaching out to pinch some of noah's hair between his fingers, and the water sticks to komaeda's finger pads, before dropping the piece back in place. he withdraws his hand, wiping it on his jacket to dry his fingers, and with that done. )

⛧ Gourmet Food!

[...or as close as possible to gourmet, anyway.

The point is, once the kitchen restocks, Lucifer can be found with his sleeves rolled up and his very cool tattoos on display while he's very busily making... something. It smells absolutely divine, the scents of spices permeating the entire room and even out into the hallway. No more rationing, no more carefully-calculated meals, we're going all-out tonight. If only there was wine to go with dinner... you know, for the like five people here who can drink it.

He looks at home when he's cooking, and more at home when he's providing for whoever walks in the door wanting to eat their hearts out. If you don't walk in for food, he'll hunt you down and drag you into the kitchen in a bit, so maybe make it easier on him and come get it while it's hot.]

I've tried to make a variety of different things, [he comments over the sizzling of something in a pan as soon as he catches sight of you,] including vegan options, so feel free to grab a plate and pick what you want. I encourage you to eat vegetables, however, since we spent roughly a month without them.

⛧ Bird Time

[If you happen to be in the courtyard looking up, or perhaps you're on the rooftop with him, you might be able to catch Lucifer flexing four huge, black-feathered wings, shortly before he leaps from the rooftop and rises into the air, where he starts circling around the school, shadow zooming over the courtyard below. It's been too long since he's been able to fly outdoors; flying around in the auditorium void simply does not have the same feeling as wind in your hair and feathers, after all.

Also, he might be doing tricks — flips and dives and the sort. You're welcome to think he's extremely impressive, because he sure thinks he is.

At some point, he'll land next to you, wherever you are — be it in the courtyard on the ground or on the roof — wings flexing as he readjusts them to sit firmly against his back. And, with a smile, Lucifer holds out a hand to you.]

⛧ Spider Lilies

[Despite the ominous connotations of the spider lily, connotations which Lucifer is well aware of, he has opted to spend time in the courtyard making flower crowns for everyone who might want one. It's the little things, right? Spider lilies are pretty, and given how they've bloomed, he doesn't imagine they'll last. So. Flower crowns.

Yes, he absolutely does know how to weave together flowers. Lucifer is a demon of many, many unending talents. If you want a flower crown, swing by and get one! Alternatively, he can show you how to make them. Otherwise, he'll just be out in the courtyard, steering clear of the wisteria tree, living his... maybe not best life, but a life of a type, certainly.]

Yes, I have a request.

( on god, not him. out of all the people that lucifer's food could draw in, it's komaeda who comes into the kitchen but sadly he's here for key important items: cleaning products, dish detergent, and things of that matter. he only plays the part like he's here for food considering the other seems so proud of their work, especially with the steam that wafts from various meals to call attention to any starving students.

that's kind, almost calls for a celebration, and it reminds him of the party back at the lodge — food meant for everyone, a way to bond, and then in the end a murder that couldn't be avoided. it's enough to bring a smile to his face as he stands by lucifer, probably too close because his eyes are trying to take a good look at the tattoos along his skin. make out the images, get an idea on what type of markings the other could have — something religious deities have just as religious seals on them. )

[pinned to the bulletin board in the early morning hours of the first day of school is a piece of yellow construction paper covered in glittery bubble text and drawings of Sports Things. it reads:

Steph wants to be a good example to the others, so she did pick the ball courts over the field; she knows she can easily cross the track, but also knows that... probably very few else could. she spent over an hour going through the auditorium's storage, finding a soccer ball that isn't great, but at least lacks holes and is in a general ball-shape. as she waits, she's either sitting on the court, writing intently in her journal, or juggling the ball, keeping it up in the air as she hits it with her legs and chest. a particularly hard header sends it off flying, where it hits the fence and, with an audible electric noise, pops and flutters to the ground in shreds.]

as he gets there, he notices how stephanie walks off with a ball in hand, doing something, and he figures that he shouldn't bother her. instead, he sits where she once was, grabbing the journal that she left behind — or i hope she left behind, and opens it to read with his legs crossed.

( nene has... accidentally accumulated a lot of stuff in their time here in yogen. whoops. but all this means is that the closet is going to be well loved. while coming by, you may see her transporting a box of things from her locker! or tending to the newly transported planter of pacific bleeding hearts, foxgloves, and pheasant's eyes. or maybe you'll catch her in room Star 5, wondering just how on earth she is going to hang her cute suncatcher up under a skylight... )

( on some mornings, there's a rather lovely smell from the kitchen- nene absolutely raided some of the home ec room to make some omurice for whoever is up at the hour. served with some apple slices, it makes for a nice start to the day for someplace as awful as this. )

2 : POOL

( before she gets too cautious, nene is on some level relieved- pools are nice and fun, after all! even if she can't swim in them anymore... so while everyone else is playing, she's here in shorts and a tanktop, bringing in a tray of snacks and chilled drinks that look not unlike the juices, sodas and teas she helped make during the fundraiser. )

Thought you might be hungry! Are you having fun?

( of course... eventually, she has a look in deep end. and there she sees something she doesn't like- but with how happily others are just playing, she knows this is special circumstances. so... there she is, looking down at the deep end, straining her eyes to see. ... actually, no, she doesn't trust anyone here she's backing the fuck up- )

( 2-C. midnight meandering )

( once sun sets- and despite the title, not actually during midnight- nene sometimes... enters the pool building regardless of her new misgivings. it's dark, and quiet, and if she curls up, sitting at the edge of the shallow end and closes her eyes, she can pretend she's somewhere else for a moment. somewhere where she doesn't love and love and love and then lose and lose again. if you do make your way in the pool when it's at it's darkest, she doesn't acknowledge you, not initially. )

3 : OUTDOORS

( 3-A. the wisteria tree )

( admittedly, she does panic just a bit when she sees the flowers falling. it takes a lot of effort to remind herself that flowers tend to die when autumn approaches. still, this doesn't stop her from looking on up at the branches, one hand pressed against the trunk, sorrowful and contemplative. )

( originally, she'd been trying to see the butterflies. it's almost a surprise that she caught sight of them from down below- the blue of their wings in the distance and the blue of a sky above them kind of blend on some level, after all. but once she gets to the rooftop, they still are out of reach... and the sea of red below is enough to distract her, anyways. )

[Hi yes Noah smells food and he's here now. He can't cook, after all, not really. Other than pancakes, and he honestly is too scared to try and fry rice on his own like Nene showed him that one time. Relying on others cooking for him is how he gets by... and maybe he kind of prefers Nene's cooking anyway.]

What is it? An egg thing? It smells good.

[He's asking this before he takes a bite, not that Noah's a picky eater — never has been, could never afford to be — but you know.]

( needless to say, after returning from a week-long vanishing act with one less limb than normal and a wolf head, having to sleep on the ground or some... mishmash of non-bed furniture has not helped his recovery at all. so the moment that dorms are open and clamor snags them a room, sidney's been pushed into a bed and is not really allowed to get up much... not like he had a lot of things to bring over, anyways. and he at least was able to clean up properly for the first time in ages, first. but if you stop by, he'll at least sit up for visitors. )

( after everything with the mission, sidney finds himself drawn here more often- sound is new and... melancholy, in a way. but he's happy to simply rest, laying an open book against the table and taking in everything. ... it's hard, looking up and seeing phantom imprints of a little girl desperately trying to escape a locked room. but stoicism is sidney's game- it doesn't show, if you don't know him. though, he might be hoping to catch someone... )

[Shin's... a terminal ditherer. It's not the sort of thing he can put off forever, though, and... he kind of regrets doing nothing about Legion, even after the fact. His knowledge of hardware extends to getting the parts for and setting up a sweet rig, but maybe... A bit late for what-ifs, though.

He's semi-stolen a plate of Nene's omurice despite the fact he probably could have asked for another specifically for this and she'd have said yes (sorry Nene...) and has brought it over, which is it's own test of willpower given even if he doesn't feel hungry, his body is screaming out for nutrients it's only barely getting and therefore it smells really, really good on top of it's baseline.]

[It's quiet and he's entering the room equally quietly, looking anywhere but Sidney's face.]

[A - Study Hall]

[Clamor has been keeping to himself more than usual lately, but he's not a terribly difficult person to find. Most of his free time he's buried in a book somewhere, either a textbook or his spellbook, and he practically moves into the study hall once the dorms open up. It's not unusual to find him there late into the night, sometimes even past midnight. Someone please get the dorm kitchen a coffee machine so he can stop wasting all his merit points on the vending machine coffees.

He's pretty absorbed in his work, pausing between pages to scribble notes into his notebook next to him, but he'll still smile and wave if he happens to catch someone watching.]

[B - Rooftop]

[Sometimes after school ends, Clamor can also be found up on the rooftop with his spellbook. He's easily spotted from the courtyard or further—it's hard to be discreet when he's juggling bright balls of fire and flashes of blue energy that dance in the air, or bursts of starlight that look like fireworks. There aren't too many places where he can practice his more dangerous spells safely, but most of the roof isn't flammable, so it's probably fine up here...

... anyway, he obviously needs the practise because he gets tuckered out barely a few minutes in. When he's not actively shooting magical projectiles into the air, he's sitting on the edge of the concrete barriers to catch his breath and restore some mana. Maybe take a drink of water. It's important to stay hydrated when you're setting the air on fire.]

B). Crafts and Arts

[ Sometime after dorms open, Sara can be found in the common rooms with a pile of construction paper and markers, carefully taping the beautiful oil paintings over with a patchwork of paper. She's even done some doodles to make it look less dreary, but her art skills leave a lot to be desired.

She's targeting the most grotesque ones first, there are children living here after all, and Sara doesn't want anymore getting nightmares...She just really hates the look of the ones that look kind of like horse people. She's living here too! ]

C). Summer Bummer

Er...you can go first?

[ Hanging back by the edge of the pool isn't very cool, but Sara looks pretty nervous. Even with a swimsuit and towel ready to go, she's only dipped her toes in the water a few times. The pink color is...almost cute! If you don't think about why it looks pink, Sara could almost pretend she was at one of those fancy hot springs. ]

It looks so deep...

[Oho, a fellow artiste! Noah agrees that these things have to die. Sure, Sara's skills aren't the greatest, but he'd rather see a child's drawings of nice innocent... whatever the hell that is, than see people with melting faces every day.]

[the beginning of school means something wonderful for Helena will happen, despite the heartbreak of the month before. the librarian has returned, and with this, she has found she can ask for books - glorious, wonderful books. she's happier than she has been in weeks, and Helena barely hesitates to spend free time there. she's a frequent visitor, some text or another in her hands, fingers tracing over the pages, practically radiating her joy and peace. still, she raises her head if someone walks near, or if she hears someone getting into some type of trouble. just because it's a library doesn't mean it's immune to that.

other times, it might happen that reaching for a book, someone else's hand is there first - and then she will pull back with an apologetic chuckle.]

Sorry, you can have it.

[low voiced, since it's still a quiet place.]

b - making waves.

[the idea of an indoor swimming pool appeals to her greatly, particularly after the incident with the river. it couldn't hurt her to make sure that she was a little physically stronger, ready for it should it come again. so, a few afternoons when she can, Helena walks around the pool to remind herself how big it is before she'll lower herself into the water. it tastes like salt, like the ocean she's only heard stories of, but it's good enough for her to swim in, going back and forth across and letting herself take breaks.

of course, at times, she simply lets herself float on her back, drifting across the water so still someone could think she was dead...except she's smiling, going with the flow, so maybe it's not as easy a mistake to make.]

c - needing space.

[Helena's taken the record player up to the rooftop. portable as it is, sitting down with it next to her playing the music that had come with it is actually quite relaxing. a breeze in her hair and being able to play this on a loop without worrying about bothering anyone, it's something approaching happiness. still, with the door behind her left open for safety's sake, the music may trickle out into the fourth floor hallway, a distant trail of cheerful melody.

for the moment, Helena is calm, listening to the music as well as everything else around her in the world. whatever had happened, they had survived. she had survived, and that was what mattered. no matter what happens, no matter how desperate or beaten down, it was about making it through. even as the minutes tick on, she keeps breathing - this can be endured.]

[ After everything that happened at the end of summer... Akira still has a lot on his mind. In particular, his thoughts linger to the roof, where he and the three others had seen the conclusion of Hikaru's terrible memory... and even for Akira, it's a lot. He's still not quite used to this place and his thoughts weigh heavily on him, so he figures going to the place where it all ended might help him clear his mind. When he approaches, that curious music draws his attention - its cheeriness in stark contrast to his mood. Maybe that's just what he needs - he thinks, as he finds himself standing in the doorway for a moment.

His approach is quiet - sorry, force of habit. His steps are almost cat-like and it doesn't help that the music might drown him out. But he knows he's an intruder, so he at least has the decency that when he settles down it's a few feet away from her. His legs cross over one another, hands pressed into the cement behind him, so he can throw his shoulders back and take a deep breath - just like his words, it sound a bit heavy. ]

[ He's perfectly content to just sit here in complete silence, that was kind of what he was planning from the start... before he realized someone else was going to be here, anyway. ]

[ Anyone walking by the student store this month will probably see Crona leaning on a sign nearby, hard at work. ]

Hey... [ They stare with forward an unusual amount of determination. ] Do you...want to buy things?

[ They're being a good employee! If they don't catch you in the hall, you might see them towards the back playing rock gatcha. ]

B. Dorms

[ Crona is on the floor of the common room with marker writing the words NO MURDER directly onto the door of Stephs room, because this is the most important rule the two of them agreed upon. ]

This ones important. [ They tap it with a fierce stare! ] If you want to fight, we have to take it outside!

C. Roof.

[ Right after the red lillies bloom, they steal out from their room at night and up the stairs to the rooftop.

They didn't bring a blanket, but they lie down on the roof anyway, looking up at the sky. ]

Look. [ They raise a single hand to point out to the unseen horizon. ] The forest is all bloody.

[With the rooftop open again, Tali couldn't help herself. Once the sun set, she slipped up the stair case from the fourth floor and stepped out into the open roof. It was a little spooky, being outside at night, given how the school was surrounded by forest, but as she gazed up, she knew her trip up here was worth it.

She missed the stars. She had lived her entire life in space. Even running missions and trying to save the galaxy with Shepard, she spent a lot of time on the Normandy, looking out the windows at space around them.

It was different, looking up to see the stars, but it made her feel less homesick.

If anyone happens to come to the roof that night, or notice Tali making her way through the campus after dark and happens to follow her, they would find her sitting on the edge of the roof, her feet dangling over the side as she looks up at the stars above her.]

b: workshop

[Tali was still relieved to have a functioning suit again, but without the same technology from home, she was worried how long it would stay functioning. It had sensors and alerts when there was damage and problems, so she knew it was still working okay, but she wanted to increase her standard maintenance to make sure she didn't have problems.

Anyone that came through the workshop might find her there, taking advantage of the tools to keep her suit in tip-top shape.]

c: dormitory

[Even if she hadn't been here long, Tali was excited to have access to the dorms. While others might not like sharing space with others, it was something she was used to. She had more space to herself on the Normandy, but on the Flotilla? They all shared space. Dorms, bunk beds, and the like. She rarely had alone time, but at least this was semi-private.

She didn't have much in the way of belongings, but she gathered the few things she did have and carried them over to the dorm room her and Shepard had claimed. After putting them away, she flopped back onto one of the twin beds and sighed happily.]

How I missed having an actual bed.

( dorms? sounds good, but after seeing what was said on the network, komaeda knows he has to take matters into his own hands. it doesn't take long for him to write his request that he spoke on the pda: first, it starts in his own room, he's placing note cards on beds, specifically hinata's and hikaru's so they have one to carry around — and climbing onto the bunk bed, he does his best to tape his hard work on the ceiling so whoever uses it can wake up to it every day. second: they come outside his room, and he proceeds to tape them on every door of the rooms that he passes by. he isn't quiet about it at all, his hand will smack against the door, and there will be a long scratch of duct tape that he rips to post up these firm rules that everyone will be following:

- NO FLIRTING WITH MY ULTIMATE CLASSMATES IN THE DORMS. THEY'RE ALL MINE.
- DON'T TELL THEM ANYTHING FUNNY. I'M THE ONLY ONE ALLOWED TO MAKE THE ULTIMATES LAUGH IN THIS SCHOOL.
- NO FLEXING. DON'T TRY AND IMPRESS MY ULTIMATE CLASSMATES.
- MUST SAY "WHAT DA CAT DOING" EVERY TIME YOU SEE LILY MAY AND BEV DO SOMETHING RATHER MUNDANE.

if your character happens to open the door at a bad time, they'll catch komaeda applying the flyer to their face with tape already attached so it sticks to their forehead. (if you're subaru, he does this on purpose, also wanting to tape his mouth shut :*). he'll give them out, stick them on people's backs as they walk past him if they don't want them — he's going to make sure everyone has one for the road, or on their way to class. )

( maybe your character has managed to avoid komaeda's flyers, and they'll come across him pointing his megaphone hacking gun at the wall, a purple cone-shaped light shooting from the weapon that shines on the walls. there's something it wants to show, but doesn't seem to be willing to show what it is, and if someone walks by, they'll be able to see the purple light briefly cross a painting next to him, the picture shifting, moving — mouths twisted, their lips wring in agony like they're calling out to those who see them, until his light falls towards the floor, and he flicks it off. the previous painting now looks normal.

yeah, he didn't even look at the paintings, this isn't about them. )

( he's in the common room, and there's tape on the floor and chairs in the way so people have to follow a specific path to move through the area, it's pretty annoying, but it'll be worth it once they follow it all the way to the end. what they stumble upon is a table with various rocks sitting on top, and a small, white cardboard box with a slit in the middle for them to drop a slip of paper in, that's right next to it, along with a pencil. )

( living in the dorms isn't too bad considering he has all types of ideas to mess with people, and he's trying to choose who'll be his next victim today. he walks down the halls, looking at the various symbols that tell him which dorm rooms belong to which. his fingers reaches up to touch one, fingers bending in order to knock, but he stops himself as he moves to the next. he can't decide which one he wants to bother late at night, but he has to get this urge out the way before the stroke of midnight.

though, it seems like someone else seems to be walking through the halls that komaeda catches — a familiar cool, and collected presence, at times mysterious, and eyes normally hidden by the glare of his glasses. why bother someone who may be sleeping when there's free pickings all around, and he doesn't stop himself from walking over to him, stopping in front of akira to catch his attention (he has to, he's going to stand in his way, and then they'll dance left to right if akira tries to walk around him).

( New semester means a new chance for your cards to be different this time around, so Natsume's vandalized put up posters around the school advertising his services once again: cards and crystal ball, with strips of request papers, lucky charms, and potpurri on the side for people who might want to give him a little money or points for some trinkets. As always, the place to be is Classroom 2-D.

Inside, Natsume's pulled some desks together again and thrown a thin, dark purple fabric over it as a makeshift tablecloth. He's shuffling his playing cards, keeping an eye on the door and smiling when anyone comes by; his crystal ball is on the blanket Nene made for him months ago, the soft cloth folded up and cradling the clear ball. His trinkets for sale are on the desk beside him, along with a price list and a small box with a slot in it.

( and by appreciating, what's meant is that aira is appreciating how absolutely horrific these are and that he's never going to be able to sleep if they're staring at him for the entire walk back to his room every night. listen, he gets it, this is some kind of weird freak school, okay. but like... they don't need to commit to the bit so hard. after a little while of pulling at the corners, they don't seem to be coming off the walls (did someone nail them down? seriously? as if anybody's gonna wanna steal these...) so he has to improvise. it's fine, he can do that.

so, some time in the early evening, a new student can be found making his way through the dormitory hallways with an armful of dish towels snagged from the storage closet. he's laying them over top of the paintings one by one, mostly ignoring other students unless somebody is, like, staring at him or something. if that's the case, he'll turn with an expectant look. )

Do you... need something? ( does he know you? or, wait, better yet, give him a moment and— )

Oh, do you want to help? These things seriously give me the creeps, like, what kind of pictures are these to hang up in a school?

02.) why is there no railing actually

( so pretty much anybody would agree that going to class is one of your last priorities when you suddenly come to in a place like this, right? it's not like aira won't attend — not like there's much else for him to do, actually — but for this first couple days, at least, he thinks he's totally justified in a little bit of skipping. it's stressful, okay! and anyway, if he can't get off campus, he can at least find somewhere that he thinks he's less likely to be scolded while he skips. after a little bit of exploring, what he decides on is the roof; wandering his way through that creepy, rock-filled skeleton of a hallway, he's feeling pretty confident that nobody actually comes up here.

except, well, apparently that's not actually the case, because at some point or another, the door he's curled himself up behind to catch up on forum posts swings open again, nearly hitting him in the process, and he watches somebody else step onto the rooftop. )

anyway with the boys out, Helena's taking the time to half study, half listen to her record player. there's still only the one song, but it fades into the background for her, becoming more like something comforting than anything else. between that and logic problems, she's content as can be, though she stays alert enough to know if someone is coming into the room.

it's a good day, for once, no bloodshed or corpse parts or traumatic memories yet. and yet, she's wondering if she couldn't get away with a nap or something...no, work first.]

I | Kitchen

[Time has been a bit wibbly wobbly for a bit now, and his head still has that funky unfresh weird feeling of waking up on the wrong side of... Existing? Reality? Something along those lines. Point being, he's pretty sure of roughly three things:

1. He's somehow been here for a long ass time and no time at all.

2. An actual bed sounds like a damn gift from up on high, and he doesn't even care that Yukio once again gets the top bunk like when they were kids.

3. That kitchen is his.

This isn't to say that he's not going to share, of course. Simply put, the dorm kitchen is a lot more accessible than the one in the school proper, and Rin is hellbent on making sure it stays in pristine condition at all times. This means that each and every surface has to be free of any sort of dust or grime before anyone even thinks about stocking the place with food, and he's taken it upon himself to bring things up to his standards.

The counters have been scrubbed to a shine, the fridge drawers and shelves lined up next to the sink to airdry after being removed from the inner casing of the fridge itself and properly hosed down. The microwave door has been left open after receiving similar treatment, and Rin himself can be found draped halfway into the open oven as he works on the inside with a rough sponge. A bang prefaces a hissed out curse, and after a moment he emerges from the oven to sit back on his heels, a scrunched expression on his face as he rubs at the back of his head.]

Dammit, ow--

II | Roof

[Skipping class to climb up onto the roof apparently isn't as novel of an idea as he had originally thought it might have been, and Rin has taken to carefully scoping out the place to make fully sure its empty before he settles down to spend time up there. It reminds him a bit of the Boys' Dorm back home, and the rooftop there had always been a peaceful place to laze around on and watch the clouds drift by.

His visits are less about a sense of languid tranquility now, however, as approaching as he's up there will reveal him seated cross-legged in front of a row of three candles. A look of intense frustration is deeply set onto his face, focused solely on the layout in front of him to the point where the arrival of anyone else might go completely unnoticed on his part.

Eventually, after several long minutes of intense silence and no change in the candles whatsoever, Rin lets out an annoyed groan and promptly tosses himself back to lay prone.] Stupid dumbass candle bullshit, it's never been this hard before so what gives?

III | Study Hall

[A valiant attempt was made at working through assigned schoolwork, one that has evidently made in vain given the apparent results. Amidst the clutter of an open textbook and a scattered pile of notes and various paperwork, Rin sleeps soundly. Dead to the world, half draped across the wood of the table as soft snores escape his unconscious form. His eyes are wide open yet unfocused, the unnerving sight curbed by the puddle of drool that has begun to form beneath his cheek.]

[The fact that he was standing in the kitchen past midnight definitely had nothing to do with insomnia. Totally not. He was too busy thinking to sleep anyway, so it wasn't like it was solely insomnia that was causing him to attempt to make Cup Noodles in the middle of the night.

He might have spent ten minutes boiling the tap water to not look like someone spilled food coloring in it. He wanted noodles, not food poisoning.

He also was definitely sure that Rin wasn't going to wake up any time soon and somehow find him in the kitchen eating instant ramen. He knew the consequences of his actions, and Rin was too heavy a sleeper.

He was fine.]

[Ever since waking up in the clocktower things had felt... off.

Not in the normal way of not having enough sleep and being held together with only energy drinks and duct tape, but in the way that nothing seemed quite right. With any free time he had, Yukio has been walking around the school, tapping the old key against his palm.

He's tried a few doors, but they were either already opened or the key didn't fit. It had to fit somewhere, and it had to open something.

He's now sitting in the clocktower, exactly where he had woken up originally, deep in thought.

[Noah frequents the clocktower sometimes — not as frequently as he used to with the dorms being a thing and all — but sometimes old habits die hard. Previously, he'd look over at the pool house from the high vantage point and wonder about what could possibly be in there. When he comes up today, it's to just gaze out over the courtyard, and he's shocked to say the least when there's a person here.

A person he... doesn't know, fuck, oh no. One can almost see the gears turning in his head as he's telling himself to just not say anything and cross the threshold and look outside—]

Moving in

[ There's a lot of things happening, but Yuzu? All she was really interested in right now was the new dormitory.

She hasn't been sleeping on the floor as long as some other people here, but it doesn't take a while to have had enough of it. Plus, moving in should be pretty seamless, seeing as how she doesn't have much on her anyway.

So, seeing as how she has plenty of time on her hands, she'll be exploring a bit, eventually ending up at the Common Room and promptly sinking into one of the soft cushy armchairs and letting out a sigh of relief. When was the last time she'd sat in something so soft?

After that, she'll then head off to the rooms to find one that still has an opening for one more person. She'll start with... how about Moon #2? ]
