ethics...club...
Who: the ethics club and whoever wants to crash their party
When: whenever in august!
What: just a mingle post for the disasters
Warnings: uhhh...........well there's a bunch of problematic people here probably, so we'll see how this goes. will update.
The "ethics" club isn't really that well furnished so far. So far, there's only a few things -- things that only Josh is able to access, as well as a dart board, a cheap (and faulty) polygraph machine, and a button maker?
Well, the other members will have to make those. But he does have a certain design for it, if someone was interested in ""helping"" him make the pins...
Otherwise, Joshua's probably usually in here, in classroom 2-D, and he won't turn anyone away. He might warn of anyone coming in of their eccentric group, but he doesn't really mind either way.
But there are papers spread around, not that he really wants to do the work of ensuring that his club stays open, but he figures there's no use in just ignoring it. So there's probably going to be some reports to go through on the papers, or something that could be defined as work.
Loosely.
There's a folder on the desk he'd moved next to the door which holds the topic of the month on it for whoever comes into the room:
good and evil: how do you spot the difference? Do those lines truly exist?
He's very interested in what people would say about it.

you ever have a tag open, in ur 849038094098589 tabs and forget to post this is what this is
...Oh.
( he cants his head to the side, and with his mechanical hand, he's reaching for something in his pocket — some dagger that dito said komaeda could use for whatever crimes he had in store. as long as he brought it back with a bit of blood, that was the deal. he flips it around in his hand, the handle properly in his palm as he watches the other doze back like sleeping beauty.
he just needs some effective medicine to bring back to ethics, so how else will he tell how well it works without someone to try it on. parting his one hand so that he can see the top of minato's, he brings it down to lightly trail the blade along the skin, not to break it or anything — just to let him know what may be coming if he keeps it there. )
You must not want to be, ah... I get it!
past nms trying to save me from komaeda
Give him a moment to yawn first—- ]
...I don't want to be... what...?
past nms did her best for her little minateow-meow, sighs.
( as he says that, he's going to stab minato right through his hand, a good, clean cut with the dagger in order to see the other in pain. most people aren't "okay" once inflicted by pain, so he's uses that to gauge whether the other is okay or not. the other's hand lays against komaeda's mechanical hand, so he uses it to know when the blade should come to a complete stop. if komaeda's not successful, there should be a bucket on top of a medical cabinet near him that'll crash down, smacking the back of his head, that he falls forward on top of the other — so in a way, they'll be laying together, and they'll be shaped more like x marks the spot.
i'll leave that decision up to you, either way, lovely way to meet someone. hey friend. :) )
current nms tho
He doesn't even get the chance to agree or dispute not wanting to be okay, but this sure wakes him up. There's a sharp intake of breath when he feels the pain flash from fingers to toes like lightning, and he closes his eyes.
...
Opens them.
Takes care not to move his hand and tear it open as he turns to face Komaeda. ]
You could've asked... I'd give you the bed.
[ It's okay, he gets it, he may or may not also stab for a nice bed ]
past and current nms are always at war,
with a friendly smile — )
You're doing great.
( but not okay, anyway, as he pulls out the blade, he's quick enough to grab the cover the other is using to stay warm to wrap over his hand. that's to keep any blood from dripping onto the floor, unless they're going to have an adventure there. ) Besides, this is... ethical, especially if I can take care of you after.
( talking about taking care, drugs work best... he'd know since he's been sick as hell, and in pain, and now it's like why has he never had cr with the nurse... but when norton was here, he gave him the rundown of some important things so maybe that'll come in handy. )

because he wants to get to know Komaeda more -- he feels like he knows him to an extent, but to know someone is to better be able to..use them later. and also the other is hella interesting.
Komaeda might be pumping out buttons or whatever when Josh approaches him, shifting his hair behind an ear as if that ever helps anything.]
What do you think of this month's subject? I'm dying to know.
josh: so ur thoughts me: i guess this is where i write komaedas thoughts
Hm? I think it's a bit difficult on Crona-san, but everyone has their own opinions.
( that's why josh is here in the first place, he's here to analyze komaeda's thoughts and actions, that attempt of suicide earlier in the month must have solidified some things. in the end, he chuckles gently as he pulls his hand away from the maker. )
It's interesting... both good and evil exist, and between the two one is more overpowering than the other. Do you have an absolute good, Kiryu-kun?
( as his twin, he would think he does. )
buckles in for this
[yeah, he knows that Komaeda is 100% off his rocker now, but. he supposes he can't really think that way when other people think and feel the same thing about him.
oh well. not everyone could be sane all the time -- it just makes life boring.
he considers the other's question momentarily though, even though he doesn't particularly need to. absolute good, huh...]
Absolute good...that depends on the person, doesn't it? My "absolute good" might not be the same as someone else's. That's why the whole subject is interesting, isn't it? What people define as good and evil...
no subject
( don't think he can slide that easily, but komaeda's curiosity is there when it comes to what josh finds as the "absolute good". while he asked the questions, he never answered them himself, and as their club leader — everyone should know him a little better as well. komaeda too is mysterious, and despite seeming like an easy book to read, that's all it is... that's what it "seems". he doesn't wear his feelings on his sleeve, and the smile he offers now isn't genuine, it barely reaches his eyes.
the way he watches josh is practically like he's looking through him, almost like no one's there, until he blinks a few times to refocus. he's there now, komaeda has his moments where hope gets the better of him, and it's the only thing he can fixate on. )
I want to know your definition, too. Let's start here, about those... evils. For me... it's nothing but worthless cowards running around, clinging onto those greater than them... smothering, extinguishing the light of those who are meant to shine brilliantly. A disgusting evil, putrid, and yet... I have to conversate with them so the hope I love so much isn't tarnished.
( how evil that komaeda has to suffer, but when it comes to his ultimates, he'd do anything. )
no subject
the danger of it all was so interesting to him.]
Hmm...I'd say that true evil is stagnation, and the people who wish it on culture. The whole purpose of mankind is to change and improve, and those who would try to enforce the status quo, I believe, could be what I'd consider "evil". Other than that, my preferences aren't so black and white, as long as my ideals are being met. People kill for the greater good, and people are kind as a way to be "evil" to others to betray them later. You can twist any kind of black and white notion to something more gray.
But it's important to others, so that's why I posed the question. Even if they pretend they don't, most have their own opinions of it. They have very defined terms, but it's only because they don't see the bigger picture of what's going on around them.
[a beat, and he spreads his hands out a bit and smirks.]
There's only a few who can honestly judge good and evil, and it's not the common man for decide.
no subject
( it happens in a few ultimates, komaeda has showed his dislike for when it happens to them, and that being evil is... he doesn't know if he can see it that way. the talented aren't evil for when they are frozen in place for a moment, annoying, but never evil, but the population that deny to see what needs to be done, afraid of taking a step forward, that is... in a way stalling their hope, and that fear, that weakness is capable of eating away the light of those who soar higher above them. )
Black and white, though... a world filled with hope is all that matters, absolute good that'll shape those that understand it.
( he places his hands on the table, crossing them as he leans forward to stare up at joshua. his thoughts are interesting however, catered to the population than himself which he finds just as interesting, why does he care for that group as a whole rather than select people. komaeda understands people are different, they're not from his home, so... there's things he needs to understand, this unique interest in joshua that makes him sit in place and continue this conversation. )
What are you searching for from asking that question to everyone here, the truth or the lies?
( for komaeda doesn't lie, he's honest to a fault, but this doesn't mean what he says is right. ) If you understand common man can't judge it properly, but you have a good eye in differentiating between the two.

Dito is watching this, tilting his head and kind of amused because Komaeda is struggling, and that's inherently great to him.
At least, until he realizes a split second too late the fridge is fucking tumbling down toward him, and Dito falls back in a scramble, ending up on the floor with his back and arms against the wall as he looks up at the fucking looming refrigerator.
He blinks for a second up at it, because he's still not used to his body being back to how it normally is again -- i.e., he can't get fatal wounds easily anymore. He's instinctively used to being squishy like when he first arrived at this place. ]
Hell--
[ He finally spits after a pause, moving one of his legs up to press his boot against the fridge, kicking against it abruptly to shift it back into place. Perhaps a little too hard, since the momentum might push it over back on top of whoever's on the other side if they don't catch it in time. ]
Watch it!
no subject
( whoops is right as it tumbles back towards komaeda's direction — leaning, leaning closer before it wobbles back into place perfectly without falling on either side. how lucky for both of them! he's impressed by the amount of strength on the other side, so he claps his hands together to take a peek at who it is. he hears them before he sees them (granted, dito is small), so when the other is making a fuss about his near death experience; there's silence, a hum after, and then a nod. )
Pretty neat display you did there, I watched all of it.
( with the refrigerator back in place, komaeda takes a step back to check their location. they're nowhere near the ethics club room, and this is where it needs to go after someone took it back to the home ec room. this is their belonging, and they're going to keep it. dito doesn't know that, but maybe it'll work out in his favor if komaeda explains. he walks to the side, pressing his hand against the freezer door so that doesn't swing open, especially when there was the sound of something thumping around inside. ) Anyway, are you ready to go?
( yes, he's enlisted dito. )
no subject
And what's he doing with a bigass fridge is what Dito's also wondering -- especially since he had heard all that thumping just prior. He blinks at it, circling around while his eyebrows knit together in suspicion. ]
What's in that?
[ Yes, he is ignoring Komaeda attempting to string him along for whatever this mess is. ]
no subject
( he knows that dito comes from a simpler time like the stone ages, so he isn't aware of the simple things like... fridges. he's thinking about ignoring his question so that he doesn't have to waste his time educating him, but he is taking this to ethics club, so he'd have to show it off anyway. )
If you do, you already know what's inside.
( so it'd only slow them down, but the way he says it almost feels like he wants to move on, and he does. he wants to take it to ethics!! )
no subject
He scowls, considering kicking the damn fridge over again because this conversation is already annoying and Dito doesn't want to guess shit. His eyes narrow before he abruptly moves forward to push a hand against Komaeda's waist or arm (Komaeda is too tall for Dito to get any traction from the other's shoulder) and shove Komaeda aside if he can, intending to open the freezer himself. ]
I never know shit when it comes to you.
[ If he gets that far, he's going to yank open the door not very gently. ]
no subject
it's like an ant pushing him out the way, but he moves by taking a few steps back since it's the other's decision. he watches as the male's hand reaches for the handle of the freezer, and komaeda's heart skips a beat. he doesn't know if he should allow this to happen especially when someone could come by and take the fridge back, so he opts out on taking a step forward in attempt to close the door.
it's too late as dito yanks, and the door smacks him in the face — luckily there's a domino effect.
lots of ice come rushing out the fridge, smacking dito in the face, and also a frost-bitten severed hand that comes flying out also slapping dito — it's like god used gravity to make this happen, but both the arm (that has a couple of bites missing from it) and ice are laying on the floor now. as for komaeda, he's holding his face that burns from the freezer door hitting him, and he crouches down to the ground as he notices the familiar arm. he reaches out, grabbing it so that the other doesn't step on it. )

every once in a while, she peers over the top of the book. she is wearing sunglasses that she definitely got from somewhere but otherwise has made no attempts to hide her incredibly obvious identity.
secret agent]
no subject
she's a sneaky little spy, a perfect secret agent that komaeda has caught onto for quite awhile now, but the thing is... he makes no move to stop her. he doesn't want to blow her cover, so he allows her to gain as much information as she needs even though there's nothing to ethics aside from... learning ethics! for a moment, komaeda is messing with a dart board, pulling off the darts that's been wedged into it. it takes a few wiggles, but he manages to slide them out so that three sits in his hands.
setting them on the table, he grabs two notecards, and he writes something on top. with a smile, he walks around the room in a circle, and once he gets to where stephanie is sitting — )
Oh, I forgot something.
( he sets the one notecard on the table, and it reads, "write three questions you want me to answer". komaeda's backtracking his steps back to the dartboard, picking up the three darts he had left on the table. he pulls out a second set of darts, separating the colors, and setting them down again. with the singular notecard he has, he's writing his own questions down, three, and begins to rip them in straight lines so he can fold each question very small.
hopefully stephanie can see what he's doing through those shades to get an idea of what to do before he comes back over. )
no subject
a few minutes later, the card is pushed back out past the book, neatly folded in half.]
no subject
Oh, this is where I left this.
( it's surprising to see that it's bent, and he doesn't recall doing it... hm... wonder who did that! playing dumb is actually pretty easy, so he takes her card... and sets down three darts on the table instead, like an exchange. he peer inside, but rips them in hopes that he's able to tape the questions to the dart board along with his own.
he goes to sit down at a desk a little ways from her with his own darts, and he's gauging his first throw to decide how he wants to aim it.
hope stephanie is ready to play with him in ethics!!!! )

1. Is there anyone here who you could never bring yourself to kill?
2. Describe what the people in this room are to you in one word.
3. What was your mom like?]
no subject
he walks back over to his table, and with different notecard he starts to write something down. he stops every so often, looking down at what he's written, then erasing, and writing again. after he's done, he gets up from his desk to walk over to stephanie, and he sets down both her question and the answer.
he places that down, and then walks back over to his desk to sit down.
on the dartboard are komaeda's questions if stephanie manages to dart one — or get anywhere close, komaeda won't call that cheating.
