It includes private terms and conditions agreed upon between myself and the other party. Do you doubt my ability to negotiate reasonable terms, Akehoshi?
no subject
[it never does. the very system that was supposed to bring new units into the spotlight, that would reward the hard working and lessen the amount of people simply sliding by, ended up hurting them the most. all because the compromise was allowing them to be "acceptable loss" where necessary.]
I know we're different from a lot of the students here, and it's not 'cause we make an effort to. I like chatting with everyone, y'know? Whether they're able to do the things we can do or not. So when you ask me to make sure everyone graduates, when you say every third-year has the possibility to, shouldn't I ask about anything that could get in the way?
[he doesn't know what the contract includes even in the loosest sense, whether it has anything to do with the current or new or hidden or whatever rules to follow, what maya stands to lose as president if she should fail to hold up her end of the bargain or what the secondary party (the school?) does themselves... but he does trust her, those words are genuine and true, and honestly--]
I wouldn't be asking so much of you if I didn't trust you.
[he'd just figure out a way to find out on his own.]
no subject
You can ask as much as you want, but that does not mean you'll get answers. This contract of mine is for me; I would not get others involved, because the more variables there are, the harder it is to control the situation.
[ Imagine if her terms were contingent on like... Komaeda, or Natsume. There would be no winning. ]
If you trust me, then leave me to it. Study hard for graduation. At the very least, I was able to secure that term.

Okay! You're a really kind person, Prez, so I'm sure you've done everything you can to make it fair. I appreciate it, 'cause it feels like we need all the help we can get sometimes~.
no subject
You really do. At least more of you have your eyes open now, instead of pretending.
no subject
You mean about what's up with this school? 'Cause it's getting sorta hard to ignore and pretend it's just got a couple quirks.
[since it's definitely not literal opening eyes. maybe.]
no subject
It has those too. In many ways, it's still just a school.
[ Sometimes the school has a bullying problem, where bullying is murder. Or exams are graded on a curve, and you have to take out the competition to ensure you're in the top ten perfect. Sometimes there's a void in the auditorium. That's maybe normal too, maybe. ]
Are we done here?
no subject
[he said half an hour and he intends it. unfortunately annoying in this way.
...]
Why'd you let someone who isn't even a student here set up shop?
no subject
Do you have complaints? If not, don't question it.
no subject
[his grin falls a bit, and leans against the chairs they've stacked.]
But I'm worried. Something happened recently, [as she is sure to know i am so sorry stuco prez you never asked for this literally you did not,] and it made me realize that they might not have the same chances we do 'cause I dunno if it's just for students or for anyone in the school.
[to come back. to repeat. anything like that.]
So I wanted to know why, and if they'll be okay here.

Maya casts her eyes down with a small frown on her lips, clearly unhappy about the entire situation, before sighing and looking back at Subaru. ]
The shopkeeper has their own contract. Ask them for the details, not me. But you're right in that they are not considered a student in this school.
[ No merit points to gauge their growth, no chance of graduation, not considered faculty either, not really. And they've given themselves the deadline of graduation day. ]
1/2
the only real mark of their being here would be the memories they left behind.
and even those wouldn't last. subaru's eyes cast down to the floor, but it returns to her after a moment as he nods.]
Gotcha. I'll ask them about it, so thanks for the info.

[like school wise or personal life wise or--]

[ WHAT IS THIS SHIFT IN TOPIC she's going to start heading for the door, any important events will presumably be on the bulletin board whenever they're scheduled ]
no subject
Seriously~? You and Hiroppi aren't doing anything together? I'm stuck here, you know? I don't know what sort of stuff goes on in town, or even what it looks like! Are there amusement parks? Cat cafes? Do you like karaoke?
[she can ignore him or not answer his questions all she'd like-- those, anyway.]
Wait, forget those. What's your favorite color and pattern? You didn't answer any of my questions, and out of all of them those were the most important, Prez~.
no subject
Important for what?
no subject
A gift, sort of? Not any time soon, just for future ref~. I like stars and pretty much any color myself.
no subject
[ About Subaru's favorite pattern and color... She didn't ask. ]
You don't need to give me gifts, either. If I ever do anything you need to thank me for, just use the words, and that will be enough.
no subject
[c'mon maya... they're music club nakama, aren't they...?]
no subject
I can't stop you. But I'm saying you shouldn't waste your time and effort giving me things for no reason. If you must, something practical would be best: a notebook to write in, or helping Hiro out with something.
[ Not whatever pattered colored whatever Subaru's going to use this information on ]
no subject
Why do you make it so hard to be friends with you?
[it's not said in like, a mean way, but genuinely curious. maya always has a distance, keeps a distance, and discourages things that other people might be touched by; if it's just how she is is one thing, but subaru's just someone who likes doing things for the people he considers himself friends with or at least friendly towards, so
it's none of his business, it's not important in the long run, but he can't help the question just popping out.]
no subject
[ It's just how she is, is what she thinks. She's not the sort of person who is easy to get along with in the first place, and whether she likes or dislikes somebody, she tends to treat them just the same. ]
I can get along with others well enough. For me, being "friends" is just a word.
no subject
[someone she feels is a friend.]
no subject
[ Something about being family, something about not needing anybody else if she's got him ]
no subject
Of course he does! I mean-- I don't get it exactly the same way, it's just me, my mom, and my dog, but I know a pair of twins who'd use each other as an excuse just to mess around with a question like that. I was ready just in case you tried to dodge the question more than you already are.
