TRANSFER MEETING
february 2, 5:00 p.m.
dorm common room
( the early-arrivers will find that amami is already set up in the common room, making himself comfortable on the far side of one of the couches with a sketchbook, but beyond a wave and a smile he won't offer much to speak of. it's only once it looks like there's a good handful of people that he'll glance around, grimace a bit, and speak up. )
So... I'm sure you guys already know why we're here, right?
( rest in piss, hiro. legend almost took two transfer students with him on his way. )
I know I might not be the person anyone wants to hear this from, but I figure everyone's had some time to gather evidence and any witnesses we might've had by now. I don't like the idea of this continuing more than anyone else, and if we want to keep it from happening again, it's probably best if we compile what we know.
( and unfortunately what he knows is nothing, because he was busy getting stabbed, so the floor is officially open. )
(ICly, this meeting begins on February 1. However, to keep us from trapping ourselves in another time cube, when things start to slow down, Amami will pitch that they regroup in a couple days. The details don't matter so much, but you can assume they'll come back for more discussion intermittently if anything new comes to light before Disney. This doesn't all have to be in one day! Feel free to PM/ping me anywhere if you'd like me to add any other helpful links. )

- IC Recap - Hiro Arisu's death

- Meeting Recap - What's been covered
- Per mod guidance, the murder methods abide by Knox's commandments

PART ONE RECAP
[She says those words rather simply and without much emotion outside of just plain old exhaustion, but that comes with the whole 'being stuck in a murder meeting' thing.]
First of all, let's start with the vice principal. She was found in the area outside of the auditorium. She had injuries that were consistent to a fall with cracked skin and several broken bones. Her body was also burned. We'll come back to that fact later.
In the faculty office, there was a note written by Maya Arisu, the former student council president that requested her to go to the student council room. It was confirmed that it was her handwriting. There were also short orange hairs in the vicinity that matched Subaru's as well.
And then we have the student council room, which was found locked. As far as I'm aware, the only way to get into the room is by using a key that can open it. According to Miyuki, the room smelled faintly of chlorine, and Maya Arisu was found nailed to the ceiling by her joints with nails. There was no damage to her uniform, but there were splotches of skin that ranged from red and irritated to blistered, comparable to what one might have to a hot shower.
Both Maya and the vice principal's skin damage are distinctly different; if anybody took any photos to share with those who missed it, that'd be great.
That's it for those two, anyway.
Separately, on the fourth floor, a bare, muscular arm that was... uh, torn off at the shoulder? Was found on the fourth floor. The area was apparently covered and scratched and there was a lot of blood that lead to the bathroom.
There was a cracked mirror with a bloody handprint on it that was roughly around the size of an adult--an older teenish? I believe someone said that Ishimaru and the bare arm were the closest matches. The trail also apparently looked like something was dragged, as well. Also, that's where Stephanie was found, unconscious. She was laying in a pool of blood, but didn't have any visible injuries. And I think there was a mention of something about her soul, but I'm no expert on that part, so I'd rather leave it to someone else to talk about it.
And I think that's the basics of it. Leave your questions, comments, concerns and theories out there, I guess. Oh, and I suppose if I'm missing anything, feel free to mention it. I wasn't exactly around to see all of this, so a lot of my information is based on what I was told, after all.
remember how I said "oh Lucifer will answer the soul thing" and then I forgot to do that. yeah.
[Because he thinks that damn wolf is still at large, he and Sidney and Shin as far as he knows, but Inaba is giving straight facts so he'll follow her rules to keep things sane.]
Stephanie's soul was fragmented when I saw her asleep in our first meeting. It was in a similar state to that of Narumi Ito's soul after Clamor's doppelganger set upon him with a spell that tears souls out of bodies. The degrees of severity between Stephanie's soul and Narumi's soul vary, however. Whereas Narumi was on death's door, Stephanie seemed to be simply asleep. She woke up fine and, to my knowledge, hasn't succumbed to her soul being fragmented. I'll allow Stephanie to speak on how she feels, exactly, if it's all the same to you.
[That all being said...]
A fragmented soul effectively means that the soul has shattered like glass. Something is likely holding the remnants together in Stephanie's case, unlike in Narumi's, where we had to hunt fragments of it and almost stitch him back together. I cannot speak on what could be holding Stephanie together at this time, as soul magic is a complex subject. It could be her willpower alone, it could be something more supernatural, it could be a stabilizing spell cast on her, et cetera.

There's something I've been meaning to confirm. I understand why my hairs would've been found in the student council room, but I still don't understand why Akehoshi's would've been found in the faculty office.
Care to comment on that one, Akehoshi?

Oh, and accusations are part of a fair trial, and are nothing personal! We all just want to find the truth. That being said, a lot of this will be based on hypotheticals, so please please do not stab people who are under suspicion!

That's right. It might feel... um, good in the moment, but it won't lead us to the truth -- and we need to look for it, no matter how difficult that might be in the end. Let's work together and clear any doubts to let their souls rest in peace.

Honestly, I don't know what's so hard about doing stupid shit to those who may not even be the culprit in the first place -- better to wait for full confirmation rather than making assumptions, really. There's a reason they're called 'assumptions', after all.

I don't have a question so much as I'd like to get a clarification. According to Inaba, Shirogane is the one that said the room smelled like chlorine, so I'm presuming that means he was the one who was there when the door was opened. I apologize in advance if this was asked last time, but was anyone else there with him when the door was opened? Anyone that might have been in the general area, or might have passed him by?

Recap - Hiro Arisu's Death
There are people roleplaying, discussing the ethics of stabbing, locker romance, and all other manner of things. None of this strikes her as relevant to the discussion. ]
Mmn... We're not going to get anywhere at this rate. Instead of continuing like this, why don't we try The Plan to Think One Step at a Time Instead of Expecting the Answers All at Once? We can can go over everything one more time, and then discuss each point one at a time.
[ Nanami will wait to see who's attention she can gather from the group before she continues, ]
Inaba-san and Lucifer-san have already summarized the details of the investigation for Maya Airsu and the vice principal, but we need to talk about the third victim too. Hiro Arisu was found dead on the morning of 29th in the principal's office. His body was frozen solid, and he had a bullet wound on on his chest. We also know that he stabbed two people following the death of Maya Airsu-san and the vice principal. The wound was treated, so we can safely assume that it occurred before the murder took place. One of the filing cabinet drawers was ajar.
It seems that people have been vandalizing lockers. Shirogane-kun's locker was broken into, and Kouji Sekio-kun's locker was left open. Seki-kun's locker seemed normal, and it only contained schoolwork, but something small and rectangular was taken from it. However, according to Akehoshi-kun, Seki-kun hasn't been seen at the school in some time.
Finally, there was a note on Arisu-kun's desk. The note was torn into pieces, but it was addressed to Arisu-kun and asking him to meet at locker 202 to discuss Maya's death, and it stated that there was "something that he "deserves to know.". According to Shirogane-kun, locker 202 is his locker. There was no signature on the letter, but the writing on it matches Seki-kun's handwriting.
[ Nanami takes in a breath now. None of her usual sleepy, quiet demeanor is present throughout the explanation. She's sharp and direct, going through each point one at a time while pausing here and there to allow others to digest the information. She blinks slowly, looking around. ]
I think that's everything that's been discussed so far. If we break things down one point at a time, I'm sure we can find the truth behind what happened.
[ So then, the question left to the others is: Where do they start? ]

Alright, so... I actually want to bring something up to the table where everyone can properly hear. Given that the notes found during Hiro's murder are in question, I want to go back to the note that was found for the vice president and Maya's murders.
Now, if the Maya note was also forged, that means there are a few things we have to consider, right?
The first being who here would have been able to have seen the handwriting of the people in all three of the notes -- Maya, Subaru and Kouji. Of course, given that people have been rifling through lockers that point might as well be moot, but it's something to keep in mind, regardless.
The second, if the Maya note is also a forgery, that puts into question "the reason why Maya stayed in the school past the usual time", right...? So maybe we should go from there, if anybody has any thoughts about it. I'm not really familiar with Maya's character, only the stuff that I've kind of heard here and there, so I'll defer to you guys. Any thoughts?

accusation, process of elim round 2!
[ Clap clap! Welcome back from the Wonderful World of Disney! Bonnie's cranky and was recently killed! No fuckin' mercy. ]
So! Let's try asking ourselves again. Did we actually completely account for who it could be? If we think about it too hard, you'll wrinkle your brain, you know! So let's try to keep it simple.
Someone strong enough to lift up Miss President, and show her off for everyone to see. Someone who really wanted one or both of them dead! Someone who had easy access to the room. Most importantly, who here's such a good liar, that they're fooling everyone here?
We heard so much about who it isn't and why that can't be-- why don't we try the opposite? Who could it be. Don't be shy if you have any ideas, and don't get mad if you get accused! After all, we're all guilty until proven too innocent to do it. ♥
Oh, but let's try our hardest not to retread our steps without any reason to. We know our top two suspects are the blond nervous nellie over there, and the dumbass with too many friends. Is there anyone else we can think of?

Nagito I saw the Vice Principal's body too... Well, it's more like I dug it up since it seemed like there were some details missing. Based on the state of the body, poison wasn't used for her. There wasn't any internal damage, no blisters on her mouth or anything like that. The burns were just from the chest up, were more severe on the front than the back, and there bits of skin under her nails that gotta be from scratching at someone, so it's safe to say that the fall killed her.
[ It's more likely that she was scratching at herself than another person, but it's always possible that the skin belonged to her attacker instead. It was doubtlessly a painful death. ]
As for her clothes, there were splotches of discoloration on 'em. It looked more like something had splashed or dripped down on her. The body smelled like chlorine, so you can probably put two and two together there.
[ Well, she smelled like a dead body that had been burned and dirt along with the chlorine, but he'll omit that part. He'll leave out the graverobbing aspect, as it didn't prove to be relevant to the investigation. Still, it had been a productive search. He waves his hand to try and stave off any complaints about pulling a dead body out of the ground. He doesn't think the corpse cared, but people get so touchy about respecting the dead. ]
So, that's what I got. I made sure to rebury her when I was done, so she wasn't left out in the cold or anything. We were just checking a few things to make sure nothing was missed, that's all.
