Please let August be better than July I'm begging

✽ Due to 10+ classes raising their ranks last month, ALL characters have access to the courtyard via the door in the locker area and the windows facing the courtyard.
✽ Characters with 1-10 tallies are not able to get any further past the end of the courtyard before they fall unconscious; characters with 10-20 can get halfway to the pool building before the same happens to them; characters with 20+ tallies can reach the pool building but unfortunately, the door is on the other side. There are no windows on the walls, but from the clocktower, characters can see that it has a glass ceiling, though they are unable to see inside.
✽ Outside, there is no breeze, and it occasionally rains ash.
✽ Characters going up to the 4th floor will feel that the door is warm to the touch, and will occasionally open (see: missions)
✽ The student store opens, with the door propped open with a doorstopper. The npc running the store is currently not interested in conversation, but may be available for threading in the future and is available for threading in the toplevel below. Please see the updated bonus activity page for more information.
✽ Posted on the bulletin board and also handed to each club president before break is the notice that proof of club activity is due at the end of break. Please submit these proofs in the toplevel below.
✽ There is another ad on the bulletin board advertising an exchange student program for the month of October. Applications will be taken until the end of August, and there is a 300 merit point fee. Sister cities include Death City, Devildom, Ishigami Village, Lanling, LazyTown, and Maiami City.

(the arata's wont be robbing komaeda blind, no wonder he feels some familiarity. he hasn't even gave rokkun money, HOW IS HIS SIBLING HUSTLING HARDER THAN HIMMMMM. oh im sick. almost gave his will to rokkun's sibling, this is quite the position to be in. )

Make sure to take a few days out — ( they can catch komaeda's wrist, and he's not even trying to pull it away, he allows himself to be tugged close so that npc-kun can get the money if they want. ) And remember, names have power, you shouldn't tell anyone information like that.

[ Rokkun? keeping secrets?? vile accusations. Anyways Rokkun is working hard at graduating but that's behind the scenes, that's not important yet.

But yes, npc-kun pulls Komaeda's hand down towards them and pries his fingers apart one by one to get at the money, though they frown a little listening to his words. ]

Take a few days out to do what? I can't afford to take a vacation.

[ Also now that they've learned they can make big bucks spelling their name for people, they're not going to offer it so openly, don't worry, only the rich get to have power over them. ]

( well he did say who all lived in the house... so i guess it wasn't a secret, just didn't explain that one worked at the school. "yet" bout to make komaeda kill himself at this rate.

they may pry his fingers away, but this money is less than the others because he put extra in one from a few tags ago, so in the end it equals out to the set amount they agreed. he laughs a little from that, did npc-kun think they were going to get over on komaeda...? )

Also, boooo... there's a little pout at seeing the last bit fall short, but in never expecting to get this much in the first place, they don't push the subject. ]

Taking walks until a natural disaster happens instantly, getting struck by lightening...

( he nods, and maybe it seems like he has a wild imagination. )

And then meteors fall from the sky crushing every person, right? That seems right.

[ People aren't allowed to die, for the same reason Komaeda isn't allowed to die. Not yet. ]

Actually that's easy, just loot the dead bodies. They're gone, no one will care.

( isn't this the plan npc-kun had for when komaeda died to take his inheritance?

I care. Once I loot all the dead bodies, that's it. Only living people can generate more money for me.

( they're living in luxury here. )

( takes their hand because they won't give hand, if not your legs... arms work. )

They snatch their hand back, quick. If Komaeda isn't holding cash, they see no reason to offer a hand. ]

Are you afraid? That I could change the trajectory of your life by taking your hand?

( stop!!! give hand back!! he'll reach again... listen don't be like this! )

I won't do anything that'll make you uncomfortable.

( and we all know money makes them comfortable. )

[ Yeah, which is why they clutch their hand close to their chest. It would be a different story if Komaeda had money offered. ]

( pulls out a few coins (no need for cash-cash), because a hand doesn't cost that much like how much livers go for. )

[ Immediately holds their hand out ]

( pushes up their sleeve, he wants to see their wrist. what's the lore here, he's not offering the coins for free!!! )

[ can't believe Komaeda bought their lore for like 3 yen

anyway, there's one mark on the inside of their left wrist ]

( they're bonding, plus spending 3 yen. he still didn't give up the yen yet, he's just finding things to mess around on npc-kun! they're an arata... and their fate is sealed... to be bothered by a komaeda. sighs.

just like how aiko dies every reset. )

There is no answer, and npc-kun keeps their hand out, expectant. Pay for every word that comes out of their mouth. ]

P-kun? How did you get it?

( akki has their ways, rokkun has their weirder ways, counselor has no more... but npc-kun has... one.

he'll lightly trace his index finger along the line of it, and he'll tap after. )

[ If he knows that, then he should be offering it, even though npc-kun casts their eyes down— not to look at the scar, but down at their feet, pulling their hand back. The cost of telling... the cost of admitting...

( the air feels thick, yet komaeda doesn't pull away from his question. he's running through his mind of how should he ask, and if paying for that sort of information is how this should go. these tallies symbolize something, at the start of him when he gained his own through a murder, but there are some that are different.

he pauses, allowing the other to take back their hand. in return, komaeda flips his arm, wrist-side up, and his fingers uncurl to offer the few coins that the other wanted. it's not for payment, but more like comfort, or whatever type of solace the other can find. greedy, but simple, almost like how komaeda opens a book to calm his nerves, and he finds that npc-kun is more excitable as long as currency is involved. )

( besides, he doubts exchanging information about his own tally is worth much to the other. )
