it's a burning sensation that almost feels like it's pushing down on the cornea, and forcing him to look away. so he closes his eyes, arms placed across his stomach as he takes a slow, but deep breath. )
Your turn.
no subject
What do you want to know?
no subject
he guesses like how at his "birthday" he allowed komaeda to ramble, didn't matter what, but as long as he can listen. )
About you, about your hope... things you like, whatever you dislike... what options do we have to see our promise through before...
( a mistake is made and one of them isn't here anymore. ) I want to act with you, will you let me?
no subject
And when he was alive, it's not like he had much of it, too busy trying to keep his family from falling apart. ]
Would you want to? What if my hope is something like... killing ever single student in this school?
no subject
"If" isn't what I'm here to talk about with you. ( he pauses, eyes opening just a bit as he chuckles. ) Can you define your hope? That's what I want to help, but I can understand if there's a change considering your sibling is here, perhaps that's placed a wrench in your plans.
( if rokkun's hope was slaughtering every student, what's his gain? what sort of hope is born when it's only him, alone, and no one else — that light will extinguish as fast as his intent to kill. killing the masses is no different from komaeda's attempt to start a war, erase despair from the roots, and what was left over could grow a tree of hope — he remembers what monaca said to him, was he truly induced in despair, or was that always his way of thinking. if rokkun shared that sentiment, komaeda could see reason, but it's the "if" that doesn't lead up to what is given through the means that he doesn't care for his... "if". )
I've seen thousands slaughtered, I've taken part... you have to do better than that, Arata-kun.
no subject
...
... ]
No. I'm going to have to kill him too. I'll have to kill him first.
no subject
Why?
( he wants to see the hope that rokkun is sure of wanting, but that doesn't mean there aren't alternate ways in getting him to speak — it's finding the reasons behind what makes that question one posed to him. he should already know how much hope means to komaeda, and that he'd do anything to see the strongest hope victorious, even if it means eating away the weakest of it. to see a strong hope go against another strong hope, that's mostly entertaining. )
What do you hope to accomplish by that means?
( this is about you, rokkun, and komaeda willing to listen to every part of him to embrace how he works. he didn't lie to him a long time ago when he said that rokkun's hope was something he wanted to see, he'd do what was needed for it to come to fruition. )
no subject
[ It's not his hope that's forwarded by this action; he's just trying to protect his brother's, who believes him to be somebody who takes care of others, who works hard to meet their needs, indominable and infallible. Mass murder is kind of the opposite of all that.
It's still something he has to do, though. So he'll save face, and go through with the plan. ]
no subject
( because everything changes when you lose that shining spot in a loved one's eyes, and who knows how many times rokkun has been replaced for someone else. family isn't replaceable, if it was, npckun wouldn't have been so attached to the prospect of an older brother — they missed him, it was obvious, and even komaeda could see that. rokkun played the role of a brother, and a father, so there's so much weight on his shoulders of not wanting to disappoint them. )
...So you meant it, that you wanted to kill every person in this school? ...How will you go about it?
( is that part of dismantling the school? the part where he didn't care where the leftover souls went. he'd be doing them favor, they are just stuck here, but komaeda's shifts where he's resting, and he's going to lay his head on rokkun's chest. listen to his heart beat. ) Even if you know they want to live, that won't stop you... will it?
no subject
Sorry, Kogamo. Your big brother spend his afterlife dying every two months.
But now, it's everybody else's turn. ]
It won't. I'm killing everybody so they'll have the chance to live— their own lives, in their own homes, with their own family. I'm sending them all back. Just wait and see.
no subject
Wait and see...? You're not serious are you?
( he lifts up, looking at the other like he's insane, blinking slow like... the idea to just look forward to it isn't really there. )
I told you, I was going to join you... were you not listening at the start of this?
( going to pinch his nose because that's a little annoying on rokkun's behalf, but it's fine, he's trying. )
no subject
Joining me doesn't mean doing the exact same thing as me. I already told you what your job was.
[ Presumably. And if he didn't, it was supposed to be something about Komaeda going around talking to people and getting them all riled up over hope. ]
no subject
( he'll take his hand back, maybe pinch one more time, and then pull away. )
Tell me everything, Rokkun... you want to use... ( his luck, and he loathes it actually, but he's just as low as anyone else here that doesn't have a talent... so it's not like his luck is special. ) ...which plays in some way...
( unless. )
...Tell me all about your planning, what made you decide this... I want to hear everything...
no subject
Nope.
[ Let him have his secrets. Curiosity is how you keep people coming back, the same tactic npckun uses, but Rokkun's case is more... Yeah, he doesn't want to say. ]
I got tired of dying. I'm not going to let this place have its way with me anymore, that's all.
[ He's going to destroy the place because it pisses him off. It wasn't that hard of a decision. ]
no subject
( curiosity isn't even what keeps komaeda here, what keeps him here is the other's hope, that one aspect that always draws him closer. it's a make or break deal, and always has been. to learn why rokkun does what he does is a plus, and besides... this is supposed to be about him anyway. )
...Rokkun, you know you can tell me things, don't you... ( how long did it take to even get him to talk about what's on his mind, he's so guarded... there's a reason for it, but even komaeda wants to stick his fingers in the wound to see him bleed. )
How do we dismantle it, I mean it when I say I want to help you... but sitting by idly isn't my thing... let's blow up the tree.
( ...he could also kill himself, listen, he has to be active or he just doesn't care anymore. )
no subject
[ He died, he thinks. Sometimes an invisible gardener will come out of nowhere and slaughter you for even considering it. ]
no subject
So we have to do something you've never done before...
( it's hard when he doesn't know all that the other has done, or what he should know if komaeda's periodically appeared in this school in the past or whatever. )
Maybe you could have placed influence through the student council... you should have tried for it.
no subject
No way. Never again. I can't stand being in that room.
no subject
I didn't know you were on the team, Rokkun... you don't look like the type. ( kinder, ) Did you hate the authority, or lack thereof?
( he's curious!! )
no subject
[ Excuse him? he's a model student to those who don't know better, thank you. ]
I was the authority, and then I got offed and I wasn't anymore.
[ It was a very brief reign, before somebody Aiko'd him. ]
no subject
( whoo, let komaeda crawl up above rokkun so he can sit like... behind his head, and that way he can look down at him. )
Why does it seem like that group has a lot going on...
( is that why rokkun said the student council was cursed like months ago? aside from that, komaeda's going to reach out and drag his index finger along the curve of rokkun's neck at the mention of being "offed"... hm. )
no subject
He catches Komaeda's hand and his punishment for being weird is that Rokkun's going to hold it. ]
Student council places a target on your back, and it really isn't worth the trouble. Did you want to join? There's a lot of paperwork.
no subject
( he'd rather not have a target on his back, which may also seem odd, but the thing is he doesn't want to die hopelessly, and being part of the council seems that way —
as rokkun holds his hand, he states at it like he's confused by it. )
...You signed a contract, didn't you? What was yours like?
( since they're talking about paperwork, and komaeda will just try and lace his fingers with rokkun's own. )
no subject
It was something like... oh, it was a long time ago. "If I survive to the end of the school year, you will let me blow up the school." Something like that.
[ It didn't happen. ]
no subject
...To be part of the student council as the leader, you're given a wish... basically, and the school sees that contract through?
( it... sounds like one for example, and he lost it by dying, but komaeda wonders if that was really is since it was a long time ago... has his attempts been messy before this school year? )
I want you to think Rokkun, and I'll reward you... do you recall Okane-san's contract, and would you know Arisu-san's?
( he'll lean forward a bit, licking his own bottom lip like he's willing to risk it all right now. )
